30 acres of mostly reclaimed farmland. We are located where Glade Creek flows into the Monocacy River. There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive.
Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing.
Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support!

Welcome to our fifth generation, mini-valley, woodland, and rolling hills. Empty Cupboard Farm has been family owned since 1918. It is presently planted in soy and corn.
Wildlife abounds, including deer, small mammals, and geese. Bald eagles and Heron even take a pond dip periodically.
Woodland trails are accessible and new tree plantings can be observed.

RVs under 30'. It will be too hilly for anything longer. (Be aware: inclement weather is not your friend here if your vehicle can't handle potentially slippery conditions.)

Historical towns within 10 miles any direction are reached over rolling countryside. Gettysburg is less than 20 miles. Baltimore is less than an hours ride by open highway. Blue Ridge mountains 18 miles. Taneytown, 1836, has an extraordinary antique store that is a delight to browse; as well as fine dining, drive through, an open air beer garden and close by grocery stores. Homemade ice cream is found at Baugher's and Hoffmans in Westminster. Baugher's Orchard has "pick your own" available. There is a mini farm animal petting zoo at the orchard.

- OVERLANDERS: You can bring your overland camper if you want, but you must park your vehicle in the parking spot across from your site at sites 1-3. It is a safety issue to block the entryway/exit lane. Site 4 is large enough to accommodate your vehicle and these rules do not apply there.
-This is a place for relaxation and reflection by the creek. No loud groups, or partying allowed. If your neighbor can hear your music it is too loud. If your host can hear it, you will be asked to turn it down or off all together. Again, please come here to chill, playing football/volleyball or similar sports and screaming/cheering while your neighbor is trying to enjoy their time here is rude.
-This is a pack it in, pack it out site. This includes food waste, and any garbage produced. Please respect that :) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BURN ANY WASTE IN THE FIRE RING BEFORE CHECKING OUT. DO NOT THROW FOOD SCRAPS IN THE CREEK!
-There is NO FISHING, kayaking or boating. Go for a swim and float, no prob! But please float in the vicinity of your camp, so as not to disturb other campers.
- Please do not invite visitors to your campsite. This is an insurance issue, no exceptions. If you want friends and family to experience our beautiful spot, please have them sign up and book a site, wouldn't that be more fun anyway!? People coming to our land who are not booked at a site will immediately be shown off the property.
-Due to many guests asking for earlier arrival and later departure times, we are strictly adhering to the posted check in and check out times.
- No generators!

- Free, unlimited wood for your campfires. Each site comes with a fire ring.

Secluded and private, yet 25 minutes to downtown Annapolis, 10 minutes to the Bay, great for cycling, paddleboarding, kayaking all 10/15 minutes from farm. DC 45 minutes, Baltimore 1 hour. Jug Bay wetlands, wineries, fun little waterfront towns and Bay front restaurants all within easy reach.
Check out individual sites for description, each has its own personality. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. First listing actually has several options. For large campers/coach/fifth wheelers the area by the tractor shed will be the best. Around the corner there's two other choices both with firepits which will accommodate units up to 40 feet depending on your backing/maneuvering skills.
Field of Dreams and Sycamore Ridge will accommodate campers under 25 feet with some backing/maneuvering skills.
For those with 4WD and an off-road camper/trailer/tent choose Off the Grid, two entrances for easy access, travel along a logging road to an open site with fire pit. Suitable during dry conditions and not responsible for damage to vehicle or camper. Great spot for those who truly want to be in the woods off the beaten path, site takes about 5 minutes to reach due to low-speed access.

The original river campsite has been moved to a more remote spot so that all campers can access the pond and pier to the river.
Farm encompasses nearly 300 acres on the Patuxent River. There is access to the river on high tide via our private creek (must bring your own canoe or kayak) and 150 acres of marshland. Over 100 acres of woods to walk through and a pond for wildlife watching.

Experienced horse riders can book horse rides for $50/hr. per person. Inexperienced riders must be led using a lead rope. Signed waivers and provided helmets are required.
Our in-ground, unheated swimming pool is open mid-April to end October. $60/hr.

About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. Enjoy watching the deer come out of the woods and meander along the stream and fields at dusk and return in the morning. Electric, water, fire pit and a Port a Pot is available even for rough campers. Pets welcome but must be on a leash or exercise pen or with their owners in some way while here for their safety. There is a large fenced yard for dogs that just have to run if needed. Glamorous camping with a furnished heated/cooled cabin is available for rent by the night for those who do not have camping equipment or do not want to rough it. For those that have been camping before and have all the equipment there is plenty of room for a tent or camper near the buildings or by the stream or woods. For RV owners there is 50amp electric service in the barn. You will need an RV extension cord to access it. I have a 100 ft RV ext. cord but it can be farther than that depending on where you park. Bring one of your own to be sure. It is a farm and not set up like an RV park with numerous outlets.

This place was a nice quiet hide away from every thing. We were able to relax around the fire at night after the hustle and bustle of the beach trip during the day. It was a great way to unwind and it’s definitely what we needed! TJ is super responsive and is a great host! There’s a little pond with a bridge over it where we enjoyed watching the turtles and the fish. There were so many turtles in one spot! There are also goats that roam that were awesome to watch.

We loved Site 1. Our Sunray 129 camper fit perfectly between the trees. The brewery was wonderful. Bathrooms were clean and accessible 24hrs. The hosts were very nice and helpful. The property was beautiful and tranquil.

I enjoyed camping at pond site 1. The spot was beautiful. The firepit could definitely use some building up. The bathroom was really convenient but not up kept well. Spider and spider webbs ceiling was falling down. The pond was beautiful, plenty of amazing big and small mouth bass.

What a beautiful space!! The hosts were incredibly communicative and amazing even though we were a late booking and I was totally frazzled. TJ was literally responsive within minutes to any questions! The space is welcoming and very safe feeling. Great clean bathing spaces and easy spigot access etc. Not buggy at all, especially compared to sites closer to the coast! Oh, and the fire pits are really nice, with convenient tables etc. Loved the whole experience.

This was a perfect site for camping after exploring Green Ridge State Forest. The beer was great, as was the owner's hospitality. After being in heat and humidity and being sticky with bugs and repellent, the beers and showers made the camping extremely comfortable. Everybody at the brewery was super friendly, and having live music before settling down to camp was special.

Strawberry Crossroads was a very nice and quiet camping area. There were 2 large fields to choose from. They have RV sites as well as tent areas. There is a bathroom/shower building for use. They have animals so please be respectful and follow the camps rules about the animals as well as using the bathing area as this is a family that is sharing their land with you. TJ answered all questions and communicated with us every step of the way. We went on a weekend that they didn’t have any other activities going on but I know they have athletic fields and host many types of events. The camp was close to many area attractions like OC and Assateague. I will be using this place in the future when I want a little getaway. Happy camping!

Loved this campground!
We came down for the Marlin tournament, which was about 25 minutes away.
The Grounds: Beautiful and well-kept.
The Facilities: Super clean bathrooms and showers.
The Site: Very spacious, with a table, seats, and a fire ring.
The Service: Top-notch communication.
We will definitely be back!

We had a great overnight stay at The Crows Nest! We couldn’t stop remarking about how calm, quiet, and peaceful it all was. Elizabeth also came to our rescue the next morning when my car battery died, so very grateful for the stay and the hospitality!

We came up from DC on a Tuesday afternoon, crawling along in six to eight lanes of traffic at 2pm, wondering what we'd gotten ourselves into. Then we took the exit, made a few turns, and suddenly we were sitting at the foot of rolling hills in complete quiet. The contrast was almost comical. Waze got us to the right address with no trouble at all, even though the directions sound confusing on paper — and what a driveway it is. A driveway to peace and nature.
Katie and Josh met us when we pulled in and gave us the full lay of the land: where to find the fresh eggs, the vegetables, the flowers, the showers, the power hookup. Genuinely warm, genuinely helpful, and not hovering. Exactly the right amount of host. Other Hipcampers were already settled in when we arrived, and a few more staggered in behind us.
And then the sunset. I'm not exaggerating for the review — it was one of those skies that makes you stop what you're doing and just stand there in admiration. After a challenging drive, it felt like a blessing handed to every one of us that night. Gratitude, plain and simple.
Also: Zeus was home, and he came out to greet us as we wandered toward the sunset meadow. Mini schnauzer meets Zeus. Wow. The gentle giant.
We were only in town for the one night, which was our loss. But those duck eggs may have ruined chicken eggs for me permanently. Best I've ever had, hands down.
