Former Dairy Farm but, the milking and hay barns burned many years Past. Harold's View Farm now camping. There are 4 entrances to the 80 acres of hay fields, now camping sites. Three entrances are for two sites each, the house entrance is for any questions. Please stop in if you have questions. The fields have been maintained to some degree until 2019 when Lee came up with the idea of primitive camping. The land turns out to be ideal because each site makes you feel like the only campers there. New this year you will find a picnic table for 6 and a 3 Ft. dia. fire pit with adjustable grill that flips out for open fire @ each site. Another new item is open to the sky "Hot Shower"

Spacious cabin with canvas/screen front on elevated platform. 16 x 14 foot cabin with outdoor carpet flooring. Save the hassle of packing and setting up a tent. At Pete's Lookout you will enjoy beautiful views, calming sunrises and afternoon shade. There are 2 maple trees right next to the cabin, perfect for a hammock. The cabin is being offered with 1 queen bed and two cots. [Please bring your own bedding] as the mattress has a cover only to make it easy to keep clean. Bring your family and friends along with some air mattresses. AWD or FWD required to drive to this site, it would be a short walk if you needed to park a 2wd at the meadow entrance. Porta potty is a short walk up near the farmhouse. NOTE: the only electricity we have is solar lights and a power pack for charging phones. We have three new items this year: 1. A picnic table for six. 2. A three-foot diameter metal fire ring with adjustable grill. 3. The on-site open shower is hot. NOTE: Please bring your own towels and wash cloths. please note: Donations are welcome.

Hemlock campsite features a fully furnished twelve feet by sixteen-foot NEW Canvas Kodiak Cabin Lodge Tent on a wooden platform. [NOTE: use entrance 3 follow field road to Port-a-potty on right then you will see the Hemlock sign] Enjoy a queen-sized memory foam mattress as the night sounds lull you to sleep. The site is very secluded with plenty of privacy. You can drive to the site with a car, van or pickup. Bring your own cooking and cleaning kits. There is no drinking water near this site. Please note that this is a tent and bed you do not have to set up - Just everything else you would take camping. The only electricity we have is outside solar lights. Please NOTE the two photos, one shows the entrance the other is the sign. We have three new items this year: 1. A picnic table for six. 2. Large, mowed section of meadow with fantastic views of Mt. Mansfield and surrounding green mountains. One of two sites that cannot see each other in this meadow provides room for large tents, car camping, camp trailers and still have space for activities. Madine's site is a larger mowed grassy meadow overlooking rolling hills, a beaver pond, mountains and farmland. The site is situated in the corner of the meadow with shade trees for the afternoon. Madine's is the only site in this meadow providing campers room for large tents, car camping, camp trailers and still have space for activities. A nice 3-foot diameter steel fire ring is a great spot to watch the night sky. The access to the meadow goes up a short hill so a vehicle with high access or AWD/4WD is recommended. There is a spot to park right near the road as well. There is a short walk back on a grass path towards the farmhouse to a porta potty. There are walking paths on the farm, and lots of bird watching. Harold's View Farm is within easy driving distance to Stowe, Smugglers Notch and Burlington. NOTE the first two photos are entrance and sign. We have three new items this year 1. Handle wood is a new location on the North property line with great views of Harold's meadows. [NOTE: use entrance #3] There is a 3'-0" diameter steel fire ring along with a picnic table and additional firewood can be foraged in the woods to the left of the site. The campsite overlooks many meadows and there is a well-established beaver pond that hosts wildlife species. Feel free to explore the wooded ledge and walk on the many mowed trails on the property. When arriving you enter at the third farm access drive marked entrance 3. If needed there is additional parking area in the beginning of the fields. Please NOTE the first two photos one shows you what the entrance looks like the other is the sign. We have three new items this year: 1. A picnic table for six. 2. A three-foot diameter metal fire ring with adjustable grill. 3. A hot shower with changing room: you park in back of house and follow signs as you walk past our chicken coop. Pride Rock is located down into a beautiful hay field with views looking along the valley. There is lots of wildlife viewing, especially on top of the epic rock pile. We have a new 3-foot diameter steel fire ring with adjustable grill. This is one of two camping sites in the grassy meadow, but it is not within view of the other site affording you privacy. You can put your tent up under the rocks for some afternoon shade or in the large, mowed area above the rock pile. There is a porta potty located at the top of the field that is shared with one other site. There are walking paths all around the fields at Harold's View farm for all of our visitors that have been mowed in the tall grass which is great for walking or mountain biking. Pride Rock at Harold's View Farm is close to Burlington, and the Smuggler Notch and Stowe Areas. We have three new items this year: 1. A picnic table for six. 2. A three-foot diameter metal fire ring with adjustable grill. 3. A hot shower with changing room: you park in farmhouse driveway and follow signs alongside the chicken yard. We had a lovely stay and would come back again! The view is beautiful (even on a rainy weekend — the clouds over the mountains were enchanting and the view so lush), and we had a really nice tromp around the land. Louella was a friendly host and we enjoyed learning some of the history of the farm. The cabin is not well insulated, so cold weather made it chilly, but we expected this and brought lots of blankets. And Louella's hen's eggs were delicious, would recommend!

What a gorgeous property and tent site! The views were beautiful, the Hemlock tent was so clean and comfortable, we had a nice fire at night and enjoyed walking around. We can’t wait to come back!

Hidden Gem in Rural Vermont

Hemlock Canvas Tent

Harold’s View stands out as a destination camp spot in rural Vermont for its breathtaking vistas and comfortable offerings. For starters, the tent was very roomy, nicely appointed and remained dry for the duration of our time there. We were able to set up our dogs’ crate by the opening and still had enough room to get in & out easily. Memory foam thick mattress was comfy, while warm blanket & extra comforter kept the chill from the 40* night air at bay. Water for washing up & shower was piping hot! Porta was a short walk up the gravel road away from the campsite. Little extras, such as all-in-one soap/shampoo, towels, tissues, wipes, etc were appreciated. Things to know: stay on the gravel road as you drive to the site & park, especially if it’s been raining. A small run off to the right is deceptively deep & feeds into the pond. Also, if you’re traveling with dogs, best to let the hosts know in advance.

Beautiful cozy comfy cabin right in driving distance to Burlington, the view of the mountain was stunning and the hostess is also very sweet and accommodating (sorry if we were rowdy Louella!) the shower was very nice and hot and the puppy was very cute. Can't wait to visit again for a more relaxing time!
