Girls weekend at the cottage/cabin was amazing. This was our second time and as always amazing and Cindy’s hospitality is amazing. I would highly recommend staying at Fox Farm it is beautiful and quiet but not far from town.

While Cindy was nice and met us on arrival. She was very insistent on us texting our arrival time which sort of cramped our plans. The site was kind of Hap hazard with junk scattered about. I feel for the price a raked area for site and some sort of outhouse would have been provided.(there was a commode like my mother used before her death sitting at edge of one of the campsites). Her dog(big) jumped on the side of our car and us upon arrival.
The site was quiet(except road noise) but again for price it was not what we have come to love about Hipcamp. Based on our other fabulous experiences with Hipcamp this one gets a meh.

The host Cindy is a down-to-earth lovely person. She did whatever she could to make sure my stay at her camp was enjoyable. I had some unfortunate repair needs for my RV and didn’t have the proper tools. I asked Cindy to borrow one which she didn’t have, but she went out and bought the tools I needed That enabled me to make the repairs. I would definitely come back there again and recommend her camp to anyone.

This is a great spot for backwoods camping. For people understand that, it’s a great little spot. Spent one night with two dogs. Outdoor space/porch is perfect but less secluded than I had thought. Bed is super comfy!! Love the vintage hunting cabin feel to it. Only down side which Cindy clearly explains is the bathroom situation. I stayed less than 24 hours... If I had to do #2, I would have struggled with the idea I’m sure lol. No running water.

Overall we had a nice experience. We were not prepared to carry our human waste out with us in a garbage bag. The toilet that is available on site is a bedside commode in which you are asked to carry out your excrement and dispose of it on your own. We were told we could dispose of it at the local Dunkin' on our way out of town.

Great little spot near the river, Cindy was great and explained everything we needed to know, and was accommodating to our unfortunately late arrival. Basic necessities are provided (drinking water and composting toilet).
River is great for swimming and enjoying the day, bring water shoes.

Cindy was a wonderful and welcoming host. Her property is beautiful and the site I had (Council of Elders - Site 5) was very spacious. I also enjoyed the easy access her property gives to the West River Trail.

Cindy was so nice and helpful. Levi (the dog) is very cute. The site is spacious, private, flat, and right next to the trail to the river! This place was beautiful and I would definitely go back.

This site is lovely and feels remote while being very close to Brattleboro shopping and town center. I heard distant coyotes and nearby owls at night (the elders holding council?) under a clear starry sky in a circle of tall pines. I brought everything with me that I needed, but there is a basic (not covered) outdoor toilet and a 5-gallon fresh water dispenser nearby. Cindy greeted me with a happy smile and a vase of garden flowers :) Thank you!

The cottage is really cute and comfortable but still rustic (bucket toilet, no running water , etc.). Perfect for camping with a little extra protection from rain or bad weather. The covered porch was lovely and made our stay particularly enjoyable.

Fox Farm Cottage
The rustic cabin was exactly as stated. It was quaint and comfortable. The short hike to the river was the highlight for my family. My only hesitation would be the bathroom situation. My family and I are very use to "roughing" it, but the miscommunication about carry in and carry out of waste, was misunderstood. For that, I could not recommend this to family or friends. In the future, if a outhouse is available, then 100% would recommend. Cindy was a great and attentive host. Thank you for that!!

Great campsite! The campsite is a ~3 minute wallk from the river and a ~5 minute walk form a swimming beach. The campsite came with multiple tables, several chairs, and a fire pit. The walk along the river to the Marina is lovely! We will be back!

Cindy’s site was a perfect getaway, really beautiful space for my group of 5. The river is a pleasant 15 minute hike to a really great watering hole that is quite warm in the summer. Cindy was also wonderful with communication leading up to the trip, and once we arrived. Would absolutely return.

Beautiful region and property, well-cleared sites, and a short walk to the water. Many swimming holes in the area and close to Brattleboro if in need of groceries or other supplies. Would happily stay here again if we were back in the area.

The site is beautiful, close to the river, and so many fun things to do in town. Cindy is a kind and generous host. The pdf guide, water, seating, fire pits, were all so helpful and made it a very special visit, especially camping with two young kids. Cindy was very available, responsive on text for any questions or needs, friendly, and a joy to talk to.

I really loved tent camping at fox farm! The site was secluded, a perfect size for 1-2 (or one and a dog) and it was peaceful and quiet. Cindy, the host, was excellent! She was welcoming, made sure I had everything, snd was very kind! I felt like I was able to press “reset” on my brain, and so happy there was a spot on a busy weekend!
The site itself is very easy to access, and close to a lot of amenities without having light pollution. Downtown area was about 12 mins away, there’s so many hiking and walking places close to the site, and it was close to 91 without hearing it.
I def intend to stay here again! 10/10 would recommend!!

My friend and i needed a getaway from it all, and picked Fox Farm for its location, charm, price, and high ratings. We're so glad we did! The cottage was incredibly comfortable and well-furnished. But it was the warm welcome Cindy gave us - with fresh flowers, a lovely fire in the firepit, and a little time to chat - that made it truly special. Nothing like concierge care to make a getaway very relaxing. We highly recommend Fox Farm Cottage!

While we didn't have the opportunity to interact with our host extensively due to our short visit, we found her to be readily available when needed. In that regard, she certainly deserves commendation.
However, our disappointment stemmed from the accommodations. I asked if there was water, and the host kindly offered to bring some from the house. While this gesture was thoughtful, it didn't prove to be the most convenient solution for either party involved.
Moreover, our experience with the composting toilet left something to be desired. It consisted of a 5-gallon bucket, a composting bag, and a chair equipped with a toilet seat. We were informed that we could relocate it to a more secluded spot, but given the small field we were situated in, finding a truly private area was a challenge, especially in the rain. Considering the price we paid, which was $65, we had expected more in terms of facilities. It felt impractical to have to search for a suitable spot to attend to our basic needs.
In summary, while this site might have been acceptable for $23, we felt somewhat disappointed and overcharged at $65. We had genuinely hoped to give a glowing review in every aspect of our stay.

Cindy's property was so eclectic- there are a few houses and little nooks where other small cabins sprinkle the property. It is a large beautiful piece of land though and our cottage faces the woods. We only saw the other houses driving in and out. We loved how cozy and warm we could get the cottage with the small woodstove and even though it was 40 at night, our sleeping loft was very comfy. The bed (as others have reviewed) is super comfortable. We brought some food and our own dishes and utensils but loved that the cottage has a fresh water jug dispenser for drinks. Washing up dishes, if I had stayed longer would have set up a dishwashing tub, we also brought our own big jug of water for clean up, but didn't use it. I wish I had brought paper towels. The toilet situation is a plastic commode out in the yard with a bucket and composting bags - carry out your own waste policy. We had our own toilet bucket from Home Depot that we used and was more comfortable. Less breezy. The West River Trail (accessible from the property) was gorgeous with fall foliage and dramatic rocky sides.

Cindy’s cottage was so charming! There were plenty of lamps and lights, not to mention a fire pit and wood stuff for the coziest atmosphere. Bed upstairs was super comfortable. All of Cindy’s recommendations for things to do and places to eat were 10/10. We did take a walk down the trail to the river, which was really pretty with the fall foliage. There is an apple orchard about a mile and half away too for more fall activities!
Overall, we had a wonderful stay. A huge step above camping, even with no bathroom. Most of all, Cindy and Mark were so pleasant and kind!
