Great experience we came in the last minute in the evening. It was starting to rain and the owners moved the porta-potty, which comes with a wash station closer to our site. In the evening and overnight, the train came through a few times that it was more nostalgic, then disruptive. We definitely stay here again!

Taylor’s place was the perfect location to camp while visiting McNary National Wildlife Refuge. It was impeccably clean, had easy access to the refuge and to Richland, and was very quiet. The host greeted me and made sure I had everything I needed. I was glad for the availability of power as the evenings were chilly. I would camp there again when visiting the area.

Perfect home-base camping spot for wine tasting and bike riding around Walla Walla. This was our second time staying here (had visited before in 2023) and definitely would love to visit again in the future. Nice to be under mature trees while camping, and the property is quiet and beautiful.

Park on the partial pavement (Mountain and Garden Sites) or drive gently on the grass to one of the well separated sites. Each site has its own picnic table and fire pit. Our ranch has been here since the 1940's and has decreased in size since its days as a potato farm. The Alpacas are shy but curious. They are not dangerous but do not like dogs 🐕‍🦺 and other small animals. (Please keep pets on a leash) We remove the Alpacas and mow the camping areas but please keep in mind that this is a pasture that is used when campers are not present. Please be prepared. Immerse yourself in history here at Sacajawea State Park. Located where the Snake and Columbia Rivers meet, you’ll find over 9,000 feet of sparkling freshwater shoreline here. Sit back and enjoy stunning views of the rivers and a sweeping azure sky—this is a great spot for bird watching! There have been a few additions since Sacajawea camped here on her expedition to the Pacific with Lewis and Clark. The park is an ideal place for picnickers, with 130 picnic tables and two kitchen shelters; one shelter has electricity and a grill, and can accommodate up to 200 of your nearest and dearest. Or try out the park’s roster of activities including boating, hiking, swimming, and volleyball!

When to go

The best time to visit Sacajawea State Park is during the summer months, from April 1st to October 31st, when the park is open from 8am to dusk. Winter brings a seasonal closure from November 1st to March 31st, making it less ideal for visitors. Summer offers full access to the park's myriad of activities and the lush, green landscape in full bloom.
