We booked this spot in order to have a launch pad for a reserved tour of the nearby National Monument of Hanford/Manhatten Project (which was also fascinating and recommended!). It was the perfect getaway for July 4th, with relaxing river tubing, a camp fire and super clean bathrooms and a coffee/hot cocoa station (and bonus firework show all around). There were also kayaks available to use, and the river was perfect for wading into and watching tubers float by. We booked one of the tent spots, which was awesome for car camping out of our vehicle. Lush green grass, nice shady trees, a picnic table and level land. Roger and his little pug Tina were so gracious and accommodating- we look forward to coming back soon!

I loved camping right by the river! It was beautiful and although we were fairly close to the host's house we still felt like we were in the middle of the woods. The noises, bugs, and wildlife only added to the experience! The host's were awesome and clearly care about their visitors. They have already added two nice bathrooms with an AC cooled room. On top of that, they are even building an outdoor shower! Very nice property, very respectful people, I definitely recommend it here!

We spent a few nights here, getting some nice and relaxing family time. There was plenty of room for a large tent. Roger the host is a nice guy and was on top of everything that we could need. The bathroom was clean and well serviced. The kids appreciated the outdoor toys. There were lots of big carp rolling around near the shore - I only caught a couple small ones..

No one is a better host than Rodger. He set up a cold plunge tub next to our RV for my wife for a one time use. Beautiful,quiet and next to a river. Like many areas in Washington there are ticks when venturing into the brush, but his area is clean and stocked with snacks, fresh fruit and coffee.

We had a nice stay at Roger's property. The space was ample, and even with other campers nearby, you did feel like you had space to stretch out.
Something very important to note, we found multiple ticks on our dog upon coming home, and our friend even found one in her hair. I wasn't aware they were plentiful out there, but they are! Please come prepared!
The bathroom, coffee, and "get ready" room were a nice touch to a traditional camping experience. There was a fire pit and wood offered that we didn't take advantage of, but that was also a nice touch. There are also picnic tables he has for each spot.

Wonderful wildlife - we hung out until the sun went down. We saw fish jump, owls fly by and toads in the grass. Loved every min of it. Thanks for being a great host to. We'll be back soon!

Great spot under the weeping willows right on the River. Roger was a very responsive host. The site includes a couple of RV hookups right next to each other, and a couple tent sites with more space under the trees. There is a bath house with flush toilets, and an adjacent space where you can prepare coffee or cocoa. Overall, a great place to relax and watch the white pelicans pass by.

We stopped here as one of the last places during our trip back home. The cool grass was SO welcome, and the dogs loved it. The river was full of wildlife and our boy loved watching the different large birds flying in. He loved the blue herons. The bathrooms were clean (AND AIR CONDITIONED!). Roger takes great care of this property and it shows.

Beautiful spot to camp!! Roger was welcoming and Tina, the pug, got along great with our pup. My favorite part was the mist over the river in the early morning. Bathroom was very clean and we loved having access to the the coffee/hot cocoa bar. I would highly recommend this spot!!

Everything was well maintained and as described. Roger was the perfect host and provided a great nearby breakfast spot recommendation. We loved the small friendly dogs. Mosquitos were not an issue with a light breeze in the evening and overnight/morning hours. We had a great 1-night stay!

It’s a beautiful spot on the Yakima river. If you don’t need to be hooked up you can camp on the rivers edge which was especially idyllic.

I took my boys camping and had a great experience. The accommodations were great, I loved having access to a real toilet and my boys loved the hot chocolate bar. The host was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Rogers place was an absolute beautiful location. The friendly warm welcoming and attention to detail on how to get to his place was relieving.
He offers a safe quiet place to camp. Along with beautiful built bathrooms onsite and an attached little coffee bar when you wake up, as well as a play set for kiddos. I recommend this to anyone and will return.

Lovely location along the river. Having a nice bathroom available always makes camping better too. Host was super quick in responding to messages and included a video on how to get to the site which was great since we arrived after dark.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed for three nights, and we had nothing but great experiences! We weren’t quite sure what to expect, as we typically camp in secluded spots with no cell phone reception; however, we planned a last minute trip out of town and chose the first nice looking spot on a body of water that seemed easy, serene, and did not require a lot of preparation. We are so glad we found Pirate River, and still feel like we lucked out!
The property is within close distance to any sort of amenity one might need while traveling, and along with good cell phone service, the campsite provides fresh water, charging outlets, and a clean, air conditioned restroom with a toilet and sink - which was especially appreciated on days hitting 95 degrees.
The river is immediately accessible, rife with fish, a comfortable temperature, and contains a lot of seaweed at that location. It’s perfect for kayaking, floating in a tube, taking a quick, refreshing dip, and - although sometimes frustrating due to the seaweed - fishing. (I caught one!)
Although the house is visible and perhaps about a one minute walk from the site, it felt private and unsurveilled. Roger is incredibly generous, accommodating, laid back, helpful, and a pleasure to talk to! We were worried about the lack of privacy at first, but it quickly became apparent that playing music and laughing by the fire late into the night were activities we didn’t have to worry about. It was tranquil and gorgeous.

We had a great time staying here ! Roger was kind and accommodating, the sites look better than the pictures can give them credit for. It is well maintained and there was plenty of room for our group of 4. The bathrooms are close and were clean and had ac. The dogs had a great time too with plenty of room to roam or snooze in the shade! The water is close and we had fun playing with floaties. Definitely highly recommended and we will be back! My son and his fiancé even want to get married there !

We camped here for one night to break up a long drive. Despite being in a more urban area, this was a very peaceful and quiet spot! The river is lazy here… lots of fish and birds and extremely friendly damsel flies! We didn’t encounter the mosquitoes we’d feared, tho there were some and we had repellent on, so that probably helped. The morning sun (at least in mid-July) was full beam into the tent in the morning, but while it got warm, I just sat in the shade of the tent and it was still cool for a few hours after sunrise. There’s a huge Willow to provide shade to the sites, too. The bathrooms are awesome. A portable actual bathroom, with hot and cold water in the sink! And it had AC, which was a welcome break on some very hot days of camping and driving. .
Roger is very relaxed and friendly. His house is on the property, but it’s far enough away that it doesn’t feel like it.. He introduced us to the spot briefly, answered our questions and just let us chill. When we drove up it wasn’t obvious where to go but he was on the watch and met us out there to show us where to go.
There is a small play structure (and he was adding more the day we left) and a lot of room for kids to run around and play and to explore the river. I had a bored pre-teen with me who, after being left to her own devices for a while, forgot she was bored and started exploring in the grasses and watching the various animals in and around the river. This was a very relaxing and accessible spot!

Roger was super welcoming and this spot is absolutely gorgeous! The site is right on the river; we spotted pelicans, herons, a deer, many fish jumping, and lots of folks paddling down the river. Other than the sounds of people passing by on the river and some fireworks nearby (we stayed over Fourth of July weekend), it was quiet and very peaceful.
The bathroom is a short walk from the campsite and has a flush toilet and sink - it makes you feel a little more civilized while spending some time outdoors!
There are some mosquitoes, no more than to be expected being near water, but definitely bring bug spray! The camp sites are in shade for the later portion of the day. The river has a lot of vegetation in it, so it’s not ideal for swimming, but perfect for floating in a tube or using a paddle board/kayak. That being said, Roger was clearing some of the water grasses near the shoreline while we were there so it may be a better swimming spot in the future!
10/10 highly recommend!
