The Lowcountry is great for water sports, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, sailing, hiking and canoeing. Each season offers an opportunity to participate in fishing, crabbing, shrimping or digging for oysters in local waters. Our area is a favorite of cyclist groups, the long, flat, rural, scenic, roads offer pleasant riding experiences for cyclist of all ability levels. There are bike lanes on many of the major roads. Other recreational activities in our area are geocaching, horseback riding, tennis, golf, hiking, beach volleyball, beachcombing, and birdwatching. Liz and her partner Casey are the best! It was my first time using Hipcamp, first time staying and hooking up my camper, and it was such a great experience. Liz’s place is close enough to everything that your only a few minute drive to the necessities but quite and secluded that I had great privacy. The spot was easy to find, convenient hookups and overall clean and efficient. I wasn’t stressed out and was able to work and relax. The WiFi worked great as well! Highly recommend staying here!

We took our SUV out there, spent the evening grilling steaks over the fire, enjoying the hot tub, and watched a movie in the gazebo before sleeping in the back of our SUV. This place has everything: - firewood on site to purchase - water and electrical hook ups - high speed internet - Smart TV under a bug-screened gazebo, so you can eat and chill while watching a movie - fully furnished bathroom with a washer/dryer if you need to run laundry or just dry off your towels after the hot tub - outdoor shower with hot water It was a really cool date night and gave us a chance to get away from work and the city for a quiet night by the fire

Last couple times we only saw the livestock from a distance, this time they came up and introduced themselves too us as they were checking on camp. The Sanctuary at Edisto river is amazing! I originally booked just a few days during Christmas, but I loved it so much that I extended my stay through New Years. Dustin was very welcoming and engaging, while also giving us space to enjoy the property. My favorite parts were: - The beautiful outdoor shower with a rain shower head. - Access to FREE laundry in an inviting and well designed bath house. - The Gazebo was fabulous! Loved relaxing on the sectional couch while watching TV and enjoying the beautiful view of the river and large patio. I would 100% go back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique glamping experience.

Liz's property is very clean and well maintained. The beautiful landscape consists of a lean-to with a rocking chair and a very nice fire pit. It was surround by trees and bamboo. The area was not as quiet as expected as the site is close to the road. It may have been because of the holidays, but there were a lot of sirens, dogs barking and gun shots. We're from the country, so used to the noises, but not expecting such heavy traffic noise. We were unsure of the property lines, so didn't roam very far out with our two dogs. There were also other driveways from the property, so we were not sure which trashcan we were to use. We brought our trash home with us to dispose of properly. The instructions indicate there is no road sign, but there was a new sign up to help navigate us to the proper site. The location is very easy to find. We had to buy an extended hose for our black tank. There was one available at the property, but unfortunately, it did not fit the ones we have. We used 3 total as the septic is further away from the electrical and water hookups. We were perfectly centralized between Charleston and Savannah and the live oak trees with the Spanish moss were absolutely gorgeous throughout the area. Beaufort is a cute little town and the people seemed very friendly. We would definitely visit Liz again. She has a beautiful set up for a short term stay while visiting the area.

I’m going back!

Edisto Beach Campground

I stayed in live oak side of the campground and it was incredible. There is a hiking trail across the marsh that is a must see. Highly recommend.

Edisto Beach Campground

This is a good campground close to the beach and to Charleston. Not too expensive. However there are no true backcountry campsites, as they are all either pull in camping or it is a 4 minute walk to your campsite. The plants here are gorgeous though and the campground does have several hiking trails.
