The cabin is located in a remote area of Bear Swamp State Forest. It is about 5 miles from the nearest paved road but has seasonal roads that take you to the cabin. There are many close attractions like Skaneateles Lake and Carpenters Falls. The Cabin doesn’t have electricity or water but we do have a generator available. We do not have a shower or bathroom but we have an outhouse. We do ask people to bring their own gas if you want to run the generator and woods to make a fire. I highly recommend 4x4 vehicles but I been there in a civic and a mini van.

Welcome to our land. Brooks Mullahy manages Sunswick Farm’s apiary, which includes 13 bee yards and over 200 hives. A bee yard is a collection of anywhere from 4 to 21 hives in one place, and our yards are located at the farm and on private properties throughout Cayuga, Cortland, and Onondaga Counties. We are busy with our bees and at the same time want to share the wonders of our farm with folks so we are very fortunate to have our neighbors Debbie Kahl and Tracy Yardley manage the HipCamp bookings on our behalf. Debbie and Tracy live very close and will be your contact persons. Either one will be happy to answer your questions and will meet you when you arrive and introduce you to the your camping site. Our property will someday be our forever home but in the meantime we have decided to share this beautiful place with others. We will be under construction for quite sometime but we feel this is still an amazing location to enjoy. We will offer two spots to rent . One is a camping spot where you will bring your own camping supplies . The other is a glamping site where we offer a cozy canvas tent with a woodstove available situated right on the water for a magical view.Learn more about this land:Stars and Sage is a one acre wooded area on a beautiful stream. The stream Sage creek runs right along the property. This property is also on the Oswego County Snowmobile trail. This offers a great place for snowmobiling guests to stay overnight if you are brave enough to camp in a NY winter. If you are staying during another season you can walk the snowmobile trail. We are also in a very popular area to the Amish. They are great neighbors and we are sure you will see them pass by regularly with their horse and buggy. The property is also next to a show horse farm that has two donkeys so be prepared to hear them also . Very entertaining. We are currently a new site and are doing construction on the land. Please be patient with us. We have one other listing on the land so there may be times you do see other guests. We have a home under construction on the property so we also may be there at times. This site gives you a quiet wooded area to camp for the night or two with a porta potty for luxury camping. This site allows you to have a quiet place to camp without a lot of people and kid free. Most campgrounds have children but Stars and Sage does not allow children. Please feel free to bring your own camping needs as we only provide a fire area. The site is approximately 19 feet by 39 feet in dimension. You will be close to Mexico village and about 20 minutes from the city of Oswego. Plenty of biking areas all around . Enjoy a hike in the trail or take a short trip to Mexico point to put your Canoe or kayaks in to enjoy Lake Ontario. Lake Ontario is well known for fishing. You may see deer, Fox, muskrat, etc. you may hear coyotes in the distance. A flash light and a hatchet and bug spray are definitely recommended to have on hand.

Located right off the ATV trails and just 15 minutes down back roads from the world-famous Salmon River and Salmon River Falls, our off-grid family camp is tucked away a quarter-mile down an old private dirt road in the woods. Now, we say "off-grid," but this camp gives you the choice to either rough it like they did in the old days or use our generator system to power lights, a TV, shower, microwave, and electrical outlets. This is a great place to stay after a long day of fishing, hiking, or ATV riding, or if you're simply looking for peace and quiet away from the crowds. The cabin features a bed in the loft, a pull-out sofa bed, and two additional beds in the side room. (These beds can remain in the side room or be moved into the main cabin if preferred.) The kitchen runs on propane, and we provide the propane. We also have a fire pit with water located nearby for safety. If you decide to run the generator and power up the camp, we provide two 5-gallon gas cans. (If the generator runs all night, it will use approximately 5 gallons of gas.) We enjoy coming out here so much and wish we could stay for weeks at a time, but sadly we can't. So, we're opening up our camp to others who enjoy the outdoors and can appreciate and respect a good old family camp. I can also provide recommendations on fishing spots and weekend adventures for fishing or ATV riding for guests who are new to the area. Just ask! Thanks for looking!

Lovely and cozy cabin in a private area. The hosts were great and super helpful. The cabin is solar/battery powered but they ran a quiet generator to refill the battery when it ran out. The bathroom building is right by the cabin and has a flush toilet and hot shower. The running water isn't potable, but they provided a water cooler for drinking water.

So welcoming and peaceful! When I met Savanna upon arrival, she said, “the camp is a labor of love.” And it shows! She and her husband Brad have made a little slice of heaven in a beautiful stand of hard woods and mature white pine. The cabin is off grid but powered up by a high-capacity battery. Super comfy and cozy, it’s a great one-room refuge. Bonus points for the screened porch entryway and easy chairs. A bath house is a short walk with an outdoor work sink and a lovely interior with tile floors, nice shower, and bath sink I’d be proud to have in my home. Warm, clean, and inviting, it’s a beautiful bath house. Tho there is no wi-fi, cell works well-enough to stream a movie or podcast. Highly recommend!

Great spot to spend some time with few interruptions! Quite quiet most of the time, some neighbors with hunting cabins not within visible range. Got visited by a porcupine on the deck of the cabin one evening (all were unscathed!). Lovely birdwatching and many interesting insects to observe, wildflowers in bloom in August. The orientation of the cabin to the sun makes it a light space. No screens in the windows so timing when to air out the cabin to avoid bugs/bats is needed unless you have screen inserts. Seems like a lovely spot to stay in the winter, I may try to come back!

Had a great time. The cabin was perfect. Nice and peaceful. I will definitely return. Get the tour and buy the honey! Both are great!

1 night at Sunswick Farm

This adorable cedar cabin was absolutely perfect. The woods are beautiful and the trails go on and on. The cabin is completely secluded (no view of any people, homes, etc) and with everything you need for a comfortable stay! The host even gave us a free little jar of fresh raw honey from the farm they'd harvested that week!
