We are less than 5 minutes away from Westcott Beach State Park or Sackets Harbor and a short twenty minutes from Watertown NY. The lake house sleeps 6 comfortably with a queen bed in the bedroom, a murphy bed and a pull-out sofa.

Cottage - 2 Bedroom (Sleeps 7)

I reserved this place because it was by the water, and there was a swimming area. The cabin we were given is a different, lower model of the cottage shown in pictures. It was set back from the lake, but we could see some lake peeking through between other cabins. I do NOT like that the reservation was not for that specific cabin, but a cabin in general. Read the fine print carefully before you spend the money and get something you weren’t expecting. But, the worst part was there was no swimming area. I looked at the campground map, and read their website inside and out (the campground has their own website in addition to the Hipcamp service) and was expecting a swimming area. The map shows it. There is a small area of lake frontage with a boat launch and an area to access the water. There are multiple signs posted saying no swimming. It is clear the swimming has been closed for an extended time, and I believe this should have been reflected on the website or reservation information. I wouldn’t have booked at a place without guaranteed swimming. The whole point is to be staying at a place where we can swim without having to drive. The camp office is opened a couple of hours, if at all, each day. They closed at 4, and we arrived at 5. The next day, they were closed the entire day. This is the only space to buy anything or even see an employee of the park. The cabin itself was nice. New and modern and way past glamping, but a more basic model than pics show.

Definitely Would Book Again

This place was great! Just enough space for 4 adults and 3 kids to stay comfortably. The cottage was nice and clean and very affordably priced. Also really close to Old McDonald's Farm for fun kid activities. Very nice and helpful office staff as well as campground residents :)

It's a very pretty park. Some sites are a bit close. That seems to be the norm in many places. It was peaceful and other campers were considerate and friendly.
