Would need to know total car count (parking is not allowed in field). 📍Located in the towns of Russell and Clare, New York, escape to 56 beautiful private acres, surrounded by towering pine trees, half a mile of private riverfront, a pond, field and trails to explore! 🌲Tucked in the backwoods down a private dirt road, you will find four small cabins, one large main cabin and a bathhouse. You will have private access to half a mile of the Grasse River! On most days you can hear the sound of the river from camp! Bring your fly fishing or spinning reel rods, picnic or just relax on the shoreline! There is a huge field next to the cabins, a nearby pond and private trails to explore! | THE CABINS | Main Cabin: One larger cabin, consisting of a living room, full kitchen (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, and toaster), laundry room with washer and dryer. Three bedrooms (2 king beds & 1 queen bed), two full bathrooms (one en-suite) with standup showers and one large bathtub. Two of the bedrooms have closets. The main cabin is not heated and space heaters will be provided during any colder months (Spring/Fall). Mini Cabins: Four small log cabins spread out in a row, underneath a canopy of beautiful pine trees! The cabins are spaced far enough that there is enough privacy in-between each one. The cabins come equipped with power, WIFI, Roku TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, screened-in porches, AC units, ceiling fans and outdoor water hookups. They each comfortably sleep between 2-3 adults. Cabins are not heated. Space heaters are provided during colder months (Spring/Fall). Cabin # 66: Full size bed Cabin # 64: Full size bed & Twin size bed Cabin # 62: Queen size bed & Twin size bed Cabin # 60: Queen size bed Guests can bring their own bedding and towels. Or, can request that sheets and towels are provided (free of charge). *The smaller cabins do not have running water or bathrooms. Water pumps are available outside each cabin, meant for bringing in your own water if you wish to. There is a bathhouse with separate men’s and women’s bathrooms and showers a short walk from the cabins. *Please note although the cabins are outfitted with modern amenities, they still have a rustic camp-like feel* *RVs are welcome and can be easily parked next to the cabins. There is only water hookups available outside the four smaller cabins. The site is not a pull-through, so RVs would have to turn around at the end of the driveway* | THE BATHHOUSE | Across from the four smaller cabins is a bathhouse, featuring men's and women's sides. Each side has two bathroom stalls, one stand up shower and double sinks. | THE GRASSE RIVER | The Grasse River is a 73 mile-long river, mainly flowing northeast from the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains into the St. Lawrence Valley. Stocked with brown trout, native brook trout, smallmouth bass and rock bass. Follow the trails from the campground to the river, where you can picnic, fish and relax! *Swimming is at guests’ own risk. The river’s current depends on the season or how much rain the area has received. While exploring the banks of the river you will find faster and slower areas.* | THE POND | There is a private trail which leads to a small pond. The pond is perfect for exploring by canoe or kayak. There are a few channels which lead to other trails on the property. *Several other properties have access to the pond. However, we have yet to see anyone else using the pond - it is very quiet! The pond is not meant for swimming* | THE TRAILS | There are multiple private trails leading to the river, into the woods and the pond. If you enjoy being in nature, these trails are truly lovely to walk/run/bike and enjoy! They are also extremely wide and well-groomed. We have added Adirondack chairs at certain end points. | THE FIELD | A large field abuts the smaller cabins. Hubby and I do it everyday and it isn't so bad and 2 hrs from Syracuse. Echo's gas station is located 10 minutes from us and has gas, kerosene and propane. Great pizza and wings and odds and ends. Ogdensburg has Lowe's, Aldi's and Walmart. Thousand Islands is 20 minutes from us. Mini Golf on rte 6 10-15min. Langbrook Meadows Golf is 20 minutes. State Launch Ramp is 15 minutes away. Jacques State park has a beach. AMENITIES: THE CAMPER IS ON OUR PROPERTY 100YDS FROM BLACK LAKE. You'll have full access to the Lake. Available for use are 3 kayaks, a canoe and 2 paddle boats for your enjoyment along with life vests. Guests have access to the entire house, use of the yard, propane grill, fire pit, 3 kayaks, a canoe, and a 2 paddle boats. Guests are also able to enjoy walking the private road around the lake. Bug Spray is provided but feel free to bring your own. I supply the brand OFF. Please respect any neighbors, property, and obey all posted signs. Guests will not have access to the shed. Please be respectful of the camp as I am opening my getaway home to share its beauty with you. All I ask is you respect and treat it as your own. Rural, secluded, wooded area in Amish country, roads are shared with horse and buggies please use caution. Then road to the camp is accessible by gravel/dirt private road. Blind curves and narrow road, again please use caution. Camp is located not too far from exploring surrounding areas like Black Lake, the Thousand Islands, Canada, Sackets Harbor, Clayton, Alexandria Bay and Watertown, and the Adirondack Park. They all are within a day's travel. The water is supplied by a spring fed well and is perfectly safe to drink, shower, and cook with. The lake is private and unfortunately offers no public access for motorized boats.

My husband and I had the pleasure of being the first hip camp guests! What an amazing experience! We were so happy to visit this hidden gem! It is underdevelopment so it’s under a tad of construction. However this little gem is definitely one I would visit again. Joe was an amazing host and stayed up late for us after a small embarrassing navigation on my part(pfft truck driver getting lost lmbo) I would overall say the experience was amazing. I wouldn’t bring tiny humans… like I said still under development and the ponds… being a hover craft mom still for my adult children. But as a doggie mom my dogs loved it! Thanks again Joe!

I was in the Potsdam area for several days and found this gem on hipcamp. The site is at the corner of a huge hayfield. No other people in sight, although some deer did wander across the far edge of the field one evening. I went over and met the sheep and cows. That is definitely an add on to consider for this site. Coffee at Park Bagels in Canton is super convenient, and if you are in a rush, there is a Tim Horton's nearby.

Friendly hosts. Very friendly dogs. Lovely spectacle of a parade of chickens joining in as the pigs got fed in the morning. Hosts greeted us, showed us around, and kept in touch but otherwise left us to enjoy ourselves.

Clean, neat, well maintained. Beautiful camping spot, electric (our pup was thankful for the air conditioning in 90+ degree temperatures). Easily accessible to multiple state parks in the area. Would also recommend visiting Henderson, Henderson Harbor, Sackett’s Harbor, Cape Vincent, Clayton. Alex Bay was much more “old boardwalk, touristy, kinda commercial” than I remembered from 20 years ago. Really fun weekend ~ Grandjean was as advertised ~ thank you!!

Located in a hay meadow that is farmed 2 to 3 times a year to provide food for our animals. Next to the meadow is a mix of maple and pine trees. In the spring we use the maple trees for maple syrup production. Learn more about this land:This site is close to the road but easy to access. It is located where there was once an old stone barn, and all that is left is the stone foundation. Set around shrubbery trees, with two big maples at the parking spot to provide shade and coverage. You look out to an open hay meadow. That abuts our maple sugar stand with a mix of pine trees in the woods. You will be able to watch lots of deer frolic and play in the meadow and hear the sounds of the wildlife and birds around the woods. You may hear the occasional horse-drawn carriage as our neighbors are Amish and utilize the road frequently. In the distance, you might hear a stray moo as we have three farms on the road that are home to a variety of cows.On the campsite, you are more than welcome to bring a pet and let them safely roam around the field, or take a walk around yourself. If you are up for a farm adventure, please let us know we are more than happy to share our story and give a tour of our multifunctional farm, featuring dairy production, sheep, goats, cropping, and a few horses.In this unique spot, you will have convenient access to Route 11 and be a short 12 min drive to the town of Canton. Canoe-Picnic Point is the place to be! That is, if you have a boat or are like a fish in the water. You see, this secluded island on the St. Lawrence river, is well, an island. Automatic coolness factor, +10. The park is on Grindstone Island, which is one of the largest islands in the famous “Thousand Islands” area. (Rumored as one of the most beautiful places in the state). As you would expect, the boating and fishing is excellent and is what draws most people, but the island itself is quite pretty with picnic areas scattered about and secluded, forested campgrounds. Canoe-Picnic Point is a wonderful visit and only accessible by boat… how cool is that?
