The site itself was fine, and there was an electric hookup, but the description was wrong. There was no picnic table, no fire pit or place to have a campfire, nothing like that. If you just need a spot to park your camper and have power, then it was good. If you’re trying to have a camping experience or cook out, then not so much.

Clean, neat, well maintained. Beautiful camping spot, electric (our pup was thankful for the air conditioning in 90+ degree temperatures). Easily accessible to multiple state parks in the area. Would also recommend visiting Henderson, Henderson Harbor, Sackett’s Harbor, Cape Vincent, Clayton. Alex Bay was much more “old boardwalk, touristy, kinda commercial” than I remembered from 20 years ago. Really fun weekend ~ Grandjean was as advertised ~ thank you!!

Thank you for hosting us for the eclipse! We enjoyed staying at Grand Jean Getaway as our 1st Hipcamp experience. Nicely convenient to both Wehle State Park, Southwick State Park & other attractions near Henderson Harbor, NY.

Nice and quiet, about ten minutes from Southwick Beach State Park. The stars were just beautiful out here. The parking is nice and level and the promised 30 amp hookup worked fine. Since there is no water beyond what you bring in, please be smart about looking up NY state burn bans and wind forecasts, I decided not to have a campfire as the winds were pretty gusty during my visit.

grandjean getaway…. Private, quiet, easy to get to, level, and very close to lots of cool things to do and see. And electric service! A treat, we usually boondock so electric was fun. 😊 we will return for sure.
