Answer: The kind who doesn't mind paying $100 per nail. I hate to come across like this, but those doing this type of damage are ruining it for everyone else.... Be warned. If there is dangerous weather, flood watch, tornado, etc. I will be happy to refund the time we were under this watch.... PLEASE READ ALL THIS BEFORE BOOKING.....This is a recreation area, NOT A CAMPGROUND. You have access to 44 acres in the mountains of North Georgia, on Tallulah River. Trout fishing, camping in beautiful Rabun County. Lot's of outdoor activities in the area. Forest Service land, and more nearby. This is not a campground, but a private Recreation Area on 43.7 acres on Tallulah River, which we love to share. Yes, there is a house here an there along the border. People choose to camp in the easy to access area, instead of hiking out to more seclude places on the property. So if you have a problem with the house being there across from the "sweet spot" please just choose a different place to spot. I find it so funny people want to come to secluded and be able to DRIVE TO IT, with no other people around. It is mostly secluded, but people do live around here, and a few houses border this property. People have actually given us bad reviews because of this. Hike in and camp away if it bothers you that someone lives across the river. And yes, there are chickens, foxes, coyotes, bears. Yes there is a road. Yes, they cut the trees down along the road to build the new bridge. Yes I have planted trees, and it will be more private as these grow. All this being said, please read on... This is rural neighborhood in Persimmon Community, Georgia. There are neighbors. Act accordingly, the few who do not! We are a few miles from NC line, and about 20 or so from SC line, in the most Northeast corner of Georgia. We are blessed with mountains, water, and a great community. 43.7 acres access, 1,000 feet of Tallulah River frontage (actually, property line is down the middle of the river), there is a nice road to the place, and a field and Tallulah River...... You can drive into the field, have fun in the river, and camp, build a fire, do whatever you like in our space. If you don't like being close to the very nice neighbors across from the car accesable spot, the camp further up the field, or pack by foot up the mountain. We are NOT a campground. We have no fixed sites. The fire pits were made by campers, not by me (the owner.) People have actually complained to me that there are neighbors across the river. CAMP AWAY FROM THERE IF IT BOTHERS YOU. And yes, they have chickens, that will wake you at dawn... Yes, there is a road. Yes there is a field. No, there are no fixed campsites. We are not a campground. We leave you alone. We will try to answer questions, but I do not sit by the phone. This is just us sharing access to the land. We want to preserve this like this, for as long as we can. I genuinely want to share this place. But that being said, I would rather not interface with campers. I live in the middle of nowhere for a reason. I assume you want to visit the middle of nowhere to be left alone. This is what I will do. I do my best to keep this going, and open to being shared. That's my job. But I am not going to find you stuff to do, watch the calendar, or whatever. Just look up THINGS TO DO IN RABUN COUNTY. DON'T TRESPASS ON NEIGHBORS' LAND If people come on the land while you are here, THEY are trespassing. I try to keep it private, but there is the occasional interloper who wanders on. Just tell them you have it lease, it is private. I am sorry for this. People are, well.... PEOPLE.... There is 44 acres here. Over 1,000 feet of river frontage. There is great fishing here. Please respect the property lines. We love our neighbors, and they love us. We want to keep it this way. Be aware that the property if BELOW the bridge, all the way back to the old cabin. That next branch is the property line. I will try and provide a plat, or map so you will be aware of the lines. There is also plenty of public property in Rabun County. Rabun County is 65% US Forest Service land. If 44 private acres isn't enough, then check out some of the wonderful public places around here. Look in photos for plat of the property. You agree to not trespass. Also, property line is down the middle of the river. Please don't trespass across the river. For exact direction put this exact string into Google Maps: VFX6+M7 Clayton, Georgia We are also pet-friendly, so long as your animal is well behaved. And while we are at it, please do not do doughnuts in the hay field. Every young kid from Athens seems to want to tear up the hay field. Please don't! We expect it to be left mostly like it was. Thanks! There are 44 acres here on Tallulah River. Come camp wherever you want on here. That's it. Lot's of photos on here. Let's of people with 100 questions! Hopefully they are all answered here. Please, be aware it is just a piece of land in the mountains of North Georgia. Help us preserve it for your use! Enjoy it! Leave it like you found it! All happy! We charge very little to share this gorgeous private land with you. We try to make this simple, friendly, and answer as best we can any questions you have. But just beware that there are NO REFUNDS unless more than 30 days before the booking dates. THE RIVER Tallulah River has great atmosphere, trout fishing, and more. But please be aware that when rain comes, the river can rise quickly. We try to be aware, but you need to stay aware. This is on a flood plain, so it does flood sometimes, and fast. BE AWARE and Stay safe. Our mission is to preserve this beautiful mountain land the way it is, and to share it with people who will enjoy, appreciate, and take care of it. FACILITIES We don't have regular facilities. But we do offer nice new camp toilet for $22. You are expected to either bring your own camp toilet, and bag your waste out, or you can buy a toilet bucket and some plastic bags, and cat litter. This is a brand new unopened toilet lid and a brand new 5 gallon bucket. Bring some cat litter, and some bags to line the bucket, and some Ziploc bags to put this in and seal. The cost of a bucket potty is $22 NO MORE KITTY TRENCHES. You are expected to remove your waste and put it in your trash each time you use it. This is for consideration of others. IF YOU LEAVE TRASH YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50 FOR CLEANUP. IF YOU LEAVE HUMAN WASTE, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $500 FOR CLEANUP.......... I am only saying this because as we get more experience, we learn what people are actually capable of. Most people are very good about everything. But there have been a few people who actually expected me to clean up their waste, and then they gave me a bad review, etc. I am a decent guy. I will share my million dollar property with you for $40 a night. I will leave you alone. But please.... PLEASE... don't expect me to clean up after you. And when I do have to clean up after you, please don't curse me, divert, give excuses. If you camp here you are expected to be decent, and treat me decently. This is only for that 1%... Thanks. The campground is somewhat secluded (some neighbors across the creek), but only 15 minutes from Franklin, NC and 15 minutes from Clayton, GA with plenty of shopping/restaurants. Property History: Coweeta Creek Campground WAS a 20 site, thriving, family/church oriented campground from the 1970's that was later sold, then neglected. You will find some of the best trout fishing and hiking trails in all of North Carolina at your doorstep. Mr. Master's and his family lived on this property since 1957 in the small red brick house at the road, Green Shutters Cottage, an Airbnb/VRBO. He raised chickens and cattle. The cows are the reason this property looks the way it does with it's magnificent trees. I suspect this piece of property has had cattle on it for 100+ years. Mr. Masters worked at the Historic Habersham Mill down the road as did many of the locals. I have named the farm, Sole Farm. (Sole is Italian for Sun) The house on the hill, my home, is the Villa del Sole. I look forward to having you come and enjoy this beautiful piece of land I call home. Learn more about this land: COVID-19: None of the camp sites are even in sight of one another. The sights are large enough so that you and your fellow campers can social distance from one another. I certainly respect your wishes and will social distance while packing you into your site with the tractor.  You will pull into 495 Habersham Mill Rd, Green Shutter Cottage. There is a gravel drive that goes down behind Green Shutters Cottage. There is a Hip Camp sign pointing the way. I will pick you up there with the tractor to pack you in and I will pack you out as well. Vehicles are NOT allowed on the property. You WILL get stuck. Please be courteous and respect my time and let me know when you are going to arrive so that I can be available to assist you. A breathtaking view of the distant mountains greets you as you come on to the property as well as the majestic Villa del Sole, a Tuscan style villa on top of the hill, my home. The land drops away into rolling pastures dotted with ancient trees, some 300+!. The woodlands are filled with wildlife that surround the property where you are completely isolated from the world. There are two creeks that border each side of the property and join together and flow into Lake Habersham then into the Soque, the top trophy trout stream in the southeast. The water in these streams is pure. Please respect this and bring Earth friendly soap for washing dishes. I recommend Dr. Bonner's Pure castile soap. There is a creek by each camp site. The Woodland sites and the Meadow both have streams, fire pits, benches and latrines. I will pack you into and out of your site with the tractor. I do not allow vehicles on the property. You can walked to the sites if you like. I do welcome well behaved dogs. I have two that live here with me, Buster and Rufus. They will probably come pay a visit at some point.  Depending on where you want to camp there are three possible campsites to choose from: The Meadow, 2 to 24 campers and, The Woodland site, 2 to 8, The Head Waters, 2 to 6 campers.  The Head Waters site is down next to the creek and next to a meadow, very secluded, no latrine. The Meadow is best for larger groups of 8 or more. It is is a medium size meadow with flat ground suitable for spacing a number of tents out. There is a fire pit, grill/grate and three benches. It also has a creek and a latrine. The Woodland site is suitable for 2 to 8 campers but is a bit limited on places to pitch tents. It too has a fire pit, grill/grate, benches, and a latrine. It is by far the prettiest site. It's possible to sit in the creek in areas during hot weather(shallow water and COLD!. You are not completely disconnected from the world here(WIFI) but far enough away to feel isolated and private. In the bottoms, you are nestled in the woods and can see nothing around you but forest, not even the Villa and not the other campers in the meadow. You see no neighbors, houses, lights, etc. Stargazing from on top of the hill is not to be missed. I recommend Sky Watch app. Clarkesville is close by. Ingles is close by for forgotten supplies or a Starbucks fix. Yonah Cafe is great for breakfast and specialty coffees This is a small town, rural area, quiet and slow. There is plenty more to do if you just want Sole Farm camp as a base. Tallulah Gorge is 20 minutes to the north and hiking at Panther Creek.  Alpine Helen is a 20 minute drive Many good hiking opps are close by, waterfalls, thrifting. The Chattahoochee is good for canoeing, kayaking and swimming. There are several stables that offer trail rides close by. You are allowed to walk all over the property using the mown paths but please respect the other campers and my privacy. I will be respecting yours.

My family and I stayed at campsite number one. The scenery is beautiful and the whole park is very clean and well laid out. We loved that there was a good amount of space and privacy between the sites. The creek is very soothing and beautiful. It was very convenient having seasoned firewood and fresh farm eggs available to purchase on site. The eggs were delicious and the chickens greet you every time you walk to the bathhouse. Speaking of the bath house it was very clean and the showers were nice and hot with plenty of water pressure. There is an ingles 11 minutes away to stock up on food. There is also a beautiful easy trail 6 minutes away called Tessentee bottomlands preserve. Adam was a very welcoming and attentive host. I would definitely suggest this campground for anyone looking to have a peaceful, private camping experience.

Beautiful spot surrounded by wildlife and mountain scenery. The campsite is perfectly situated on a comfortable clearing. The host was incredibly helpful with any and all questions and I am thoroughly pleased with our stay. The best Hipcamp site I’ve experienced so far. Highly recommended if you really want to get away and enjoy the best North Carolina has to offer.

We had a wonderful stay! The sites run along a large creek so the ambiance is perfect. Sites are clean with everything working properly and nicely spaced out. What we loved most is that there are many accessible approaches to the creek bed for our children to play and explore, plus large open fields for them to run some energy out. There is also a nice hike that takes you through the woods on the property. The hosts were out and about working on things, very friendly and accommodating. We will return.

Site 1 is beautiful. It sits right on the edge of the creek. The sounds of the water flowing over the rocks nearby were so peaceful. The property is quiet and well-maintained. The bathhouse was exceptionally clean, and the showers have fantastic water pressure. Owners are very nice and came out to say hello to us. Ten out of ten, and am already planning a return trip for the springtime.

Weekend Trip to Tumble Down Shack
Richie was a great host and the shack was cute. The land is just uphill of the host's main house. You don't have to worry about the shared property because he respects your privacy. He said hello to us when we arrived and then we saw him again just before we checked out. It rained each night we stayed here and the shack kept us warm and dry.

We have camped here the last 3 Novembers and it is always a great, relaxing time. From the super friendly, laid back, informative workers at the distillery, to the very sweet store workers, the workers here are amazing! Very open to the public, including being able to pet the cows and horses and feed them apples. We camp down by the lake, set up a bonfire and tent and enjoy nature. Lots of yummy wine and pickled fruits and veggies to buy from the store.

We've been waiting for so long for our trip to Waterfall Heaven, and when our time to pack was getting closer, the weather was showing rain for the whole week we were supposed to be there... That was a little discouraging because we camp with 8 dogs and 2 crazy boys in a tent and I was worried everything will be way too wet and dirty and cold but I was not going to let this gem of a place go 😂 and what an amazing beautiful and serene place this spot is! The weather didn't matter, we had fun and the boys were in the water every day (even in 48°f), the dogs had so much space to run and sniff and explore and we even got a chance to do some activities in nearby towns (Stumphouse Tunnel in nearby city of Wallhala, SC and Foxfire Museum near the campsite was amazing)! What saved us was the fact we were able to put our 10x18 tent under the huge wooden gazebo right by the waterfall (you need to remove the tables first and they are heavy!) and that kept our tent dry inside and out. The cooking area under the smaller gazebo was perfect for us preparing meals in the rain (we've put one of the tables there and were able to stay dry while eating). The hike up the hill to see the bigger waterfall is worth the view and not having cellphone reception or internet at the campsite was the best break I secretly wished for 😂 We have another trip booked in March 2026 and I'm hoping I'll be able to also score a week in summer 2027! People choose to camp in the easy to access area, instead of hiking out to more seclude places on the property. So if you have a problem with the house being there across from the "sweet spot" please just choose a different place to spot. I find it so funny people want to come to secluded and be able to DRIVE TO IT, with no other people around. It is mostly secluded, but people do live around here, and a few houses border this property. People have actually given us bad reviews because of this. Hike in and camp away if it bothers you that someone lives across the river. And yes, there are chickens, foxes, coyotes, bears. Yes there is a road. Yes, they cut the trees down along the road to build the new bridge. Yes I have planted trees, and it will be more private as these grow. All this being said, please read on... This is rural neighborhood in Persimmon Community, Georgia. There are neighbors. Act accordingly, the few who do not! We are a few miles from NC line, and about 20 or so from SC line, in the most Northeast corner of Georgia. We are blessed with mountains, water, and a great community. 43.7 acres access, 1,000 feet of Tallulah River frontage (actually, property line is down the middle of the river), there is a nice road to the place, and a field and Tallulah River...... You can drive into the field, have fun in the river, and camp, build a fire, do whatever you like in our space. If you don't like being close to the very nice neighbors across from the car accesable spot, the camp further up the field, or pack by foot up the mountain. We are NOT a campground. We have no fixed sites. The fire pits were made by campers, not by me (the owner.) People have actually complained to me that there are neighbors across the river. CAMP AWAY FROM THERE IF IT BOTHERS YOU. And yes, they have chickens, that will wake you at dawn... Yes, there is a road. Yes there is a field. No, there are no fixed campsites. We are not a campground. We leave you alone. We will try to answer questions, but I do not sit by the phone. This is just us sharing access to the land. We want to preserve this like this, for as long as we can. I genuinely want to share this place. But that being said, I would rather not interface with campers. I live in the middle of nowhere for a reason. I assume you want to visit the middle of nowhere to be left alone. This is what I will do. I do my best to keep this going, and open to being shared. That's my job. But I am not going to find you stuff to do, watch the calendar, or whatever. Just look up THINGS TO DO IN RABUN COUNTY. DON'T TRESPASS ON NEIGHBORS' LAND If people come on the land while you are here, THEY are trespassing. I try to keep it private, but there is the occasional interloper who wanders on. Just tell them you have it lease, it is private. I am sorry for this. People are, well.... PEOPLE.... There is 44 acres here. Over 1,000 feet of river frontage. There is great fishing here. Please respect the property lines. We love our neighbors, and they love us. We want to keep it this way. Be aware that the property if BELOW the bridge, all the way back to the old cabin. That next branch is the property line. I will try and provide a plat, or map so you will be aware of the lines. There is also plenty of public property in Rabun County. Rabun County is 65% US Forest Service land. If 44 private acres isn't enough, then check out some of the wonderful public places around here. Look in photos for plat of the property. You agree to not trespass. Also, property line is down the middle of the river. Please don't trespass across the river. This is a brand new unopened toilet lid and a brand new 5 gallon bucket. Bring some cat litter, and some bags to line the bucket, and some Ziploc bags to put this in and seal. The cost of a bucket potty is $22 NO MORE KITTY TRENCHES. You are expected to remove your waste and put it in your trash each time you use it. This is for consideration of others. IF YOU LEAVE TRASH YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50 FOR CLEANUP. IF YOU LEAVE HUMAN WASTE, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $500 FOR CLEANUP.......... About

A visit to Georgia’s highest state park promises cool, fresh air and some of the best scenery in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can take in the views from roadside overlooks or by following some of the 11 miles of hiking trails that lead past wildflowers, streams, waterfalls and forests. Circled by an easy walking trail, the park’s small lake is popular with anglers who fish for rainbow trout, catfish, and bream. Black Rock Mountain State Park Campground has 44 pitches under oaks and rhododendrons for tents and RVs, while four tent-only walk-in backcountry sites offer next-level privacy.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Reservations can be made at the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites website or by phone.
  2. Booking in advance is recommended for weekend campers. Reservations can be made 13 months ahead of time.
  3. Campsites that have not been reserved in advance are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

When to go

The park is open year-round but, due to its elevation of 3,640 feet, temperatures are typically cooler than in other Georgia parks. That’s good news for summer visitors looking to escape from Georgia’s heat and humidity but, in winter, snow and ice may force some sections to close and the trails can get muddy and slippery. The park is known for its many spring wildflowers, including violets and flame azalea; early summer mountain laurel and rhododendron, and rich fall foliage.

Know before you go

  • RV drivers should be comfortable and experienced driving on very steep and narrow roads with tight turns.
  • For supplies, stop in Clayton, a 15-minute drive away.
  • Wi-Fi is available in the visitor center and Mellinger Center.
  • All pets must be on a six-foot leash and continuously attended to. Pets are not allowed in any buildings.

Don’t try to bring a travel trailer or RV longer than 20 feet, or you will have a very difficult time getting 1. To the campground itself and 2. Navigating it into a campsite in the 2nd loop which is on narrow grade.
