After your hike you can drop by frog rock the local's favorite swimming hole that's along the same short drive back from Minister Creek trail back to the Nason Trust. Tionesta Creek and Salmon Creek are well stocked to lure in any avid fishermen. Along with another local gem; Ross Run's Habitat Improvement area it's a half mile set aside for Children 15 and under and people with Special needs giving them their very own special stocked fishing area.

Founded in 1955 as a campground, amusement park and pay to fish lake, lake lucy has a rich history of having families spending time together. After the death of lake lucys founder Raymond Mealy in 2007 the amusements and train were all removed as well as the zoo. The Steinman family purchased the property in 2017 and began remodeling the pavilion and putting in water and sewer lines to be able to use the campground and pavilion again. It has been a place for the Steinman and Mealy families and friends to enjoy for the last few years and we felt it was time to once again welcome the public to enjoy our property! We currently have 11 sites with full hookups (water, sewer, electric(50/30/20amp). The campground water will be turned off November 10th due to freezing temperatures. We are within a few miles of a dollar store if any supplies are needed, a gas station is at the end of the road and we are only a few minutes from cook forest as well as the tionesta reservoir. Water is available on site for campers and campers can use the bath house. In the bath house there is 1 full bathroom with a shower and the other bathroom is just a half bath. This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. It is surrounded by thousands of acres of private forestland and is very secluded. Our goal is to provide a private and secluded yet accessible camping experience where you will see more deer than people. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away.  It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table.  Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. We hope you enjoy the peace and quiet of nature on our property as much as we have. This is a campsite that has picturesque view of surrounding farmland and of Peek-n-Peak. Located conveniently off of Rt426 with a slight drive along a field to reach the destination. Private and out of the way. Plenty of wildlife (family of fox and usually mamma deer and her babies, can normally be seen doing what animals do. Close to Peek-n-Peak and Findley Lake and its many amenities. Has fantastic cell reception so remote working is an absolute possibility if longer stays are wanted. This is a little campsite on top of a hillside besides, you guessed it, a big oak. This is on a working hay farm, so depending on when you arrive you might be able to see hay being harvested. There is fire wood for sale, a communal picnic table and fire pit on site. Located within walking, biking, or a short driving distance are the Chautauqua Rails for Trails, the Chautauqua Gorge, and the Westside Overland Trail. Additional courtesy camping items available at little cost upon request. Farm fresh eggs, seasonal vegetables, and farm raised meat available at farm stand. The entrance to the property is on Summerdale Road. From Lyons Road, turn right on to Summerdale Road. Drive past the first house on the right hand side. Just a little further down the road you will see a Harvest Host sign and a blue double field gate. Please park in the location indicated via text messaging confirmation.

There is also The Allegheny River Trail which provides miles of paved bike trails. What we offer: We are not a campground and do not offer multi-night stays We are vandwellers when we are traveling. As such we understand the problems associated with finding a spot to overnight. We offer just that, a safe, quiet stop over for the night. We loved our stay here! Hosts- Very friendly and easy to communicate with Location- fantastic! Cooks forest and the state park nearby have so much to do and offer. This campsite was perfectly placed in it! Campsite - we loved the campsite. First, we loved the privacy of having 360 view of trees. It definitely beats crowded campsites nearby. Second, they have a swing which was fun to swing on. The Fire pit was also great and we loved how many picnic tables there were. Campsite also had about 1 bar lte Verizon but I had no issues loading anything on my phone. We were able to watch movies which was what I was hoping for! I 10/10 recommend camping here

Josh's spot is spectacular for solitude. It is on the edge of the forest at the end of loop of spacious "camps". The road in is definitely rocky, but we managed with our 26' class C just fine going slow and steady. The spot had all the amenities listed and they worked as they should. Depending on what time of year you go, you should be prepared for it to be wet. There are creeks surrounding the property and the parking and campfire areas can hold some water. Overall a great experience and hope to be back again soon!

My pup and I loved our overnight stay. The property is beautiful and quiet. We woke in the morning to a herd of deer walking through camp. Having electric available was a big bonus. We were car camping and being able to have a car heater to keep us cozy was perfect on a 30 degree night. My pup loved being able to be off leash.

This site is perfect! The road is a bit rough towards then end, but it’s a short distance. Do go to the left as Josh recommends! We went right without our camper to see and don’t, just don’t. The site is well kept and private and very big. Perfect to let our dog, Sully, roam free the whole time. It was his first camping trip. A+ for Sully. Already thinking about coming back next year. Thank you for the nice relaxing time!

We absolutely love this campsite! This is not the first time we've been here, and certainly won't be the last! This site is absolutely perfect for our family and dog! It is private, quiet, beautiful and clean! Sitting at the campfire and staring into the woods is life-giving. Our kids and dog can run around without any worry. The electric and water hook ups are so nice to have as well! There are several picnic tables to use and an awesome fire ring. Pulling in and out are super easy because of the nicely graveled area! Don't let the road coming in discourage you...this is no indication of what you'll experience once you're there! We thank Josh and his family for allowing us to use the site again to end our 2025 camping season (we began with them too!) We will certainly be back in 2026!

Beaver Meadows Recreation area used to be a fully functional campground, but now is available for dry camping. It's fun to walk through the old campground that still has posts, picnic tables, and even a fenced in blueberry patch!

Spent a long weekend at this campground with my wife and Boxer Izzy. It was amazing! The only way to get to this campground is by boat or hike. My wife and I hiked in and set up camp right in the water. There was clean drinking water and a vault toilet. 5 stars!

Hearts Content Recreation Area and Campground

I have stayed at this campground a few times. It is located near the Hickory Creek Wilderness, a very lush 12.1 mile loop with backcountry sites. Hearts Content is a great place to stay the night before or after a backpacking trip. Firewood is available at the campground for $10 for a large bundle. Site 12 is a large wooded site with a lean-to. It is located near a toilet & water. Site was $14 is 2015.

Red Bridge Campground

We had an awesome time at Red Bridge Campground & ANF. We reserved sites 60 + 61. Site 60 was nice and grassy, offering a cozy spot for tents. Site 61 wasn't grassy and in fact was a little rocky (making it tough to get tent stakes in the ground), BUT it was about 30 feet from the amazing, beautiful reservoir, which made it all OK. :) The plenty of trees surrounding the site allowed for us to hang a dog runner line & some hammocks. It was pretty up-close and personal to site 62, which also has a small trail to the water. Our neighbors were cool, but next time we go with friends, we'll try try book 61 + 62 for proximity and privacy. We also took advantage of the North Country Nat. Trail, which was BEAUTIFUL and a great, challenging hike!

The sites directly on the bay (79 and higher I believe) are well worth the hike-in trek to the sites. You probably will have your own mini-beach on your site and the morning views and glass-like bay are irreplacable! Bring something warm to sleep in, these are well shaded spots and it tends to get a little chilly overnight. Ah, and bring your kayak - you won't regret it!

Camped here last year in site 53. The best sites are #66 & 68. They are prime sites with gorgeous views right on Willow Bay. Sadly, there's no hookups for the lake sites. Only the sites on the woods side have electricity. There are modern bathrooms with showers. There's other campgrounds in the Alleghenys, but I liked Willow Bay the best. The campsites are decently spaced. Like Tim S reported, the bears were rather aggressive last year. While we were there one ripped into a popup to get some buns inside. Always be bear aware!
