We have four raised platforms, accessible by car, each with a canvas-covered A-frame Each platform is nested in their own private setting around the edges of our 12-acre organic blueberry barren. All four platforms are fully screened-in, with stylish canvas-covered timberframes and circular red doors. These canvas tents are relatively bug-proof and waterproof; you do not need to bring a tent! You do need to bring your own bedding. ***If you are particularly sensitive to bugs, you may want to bring your own tent (to put inside our tent) or a mosquito net. This is the Northeast during the summertime, we cannot ensure there will be no bugs. Blueberry Land is part of Smithereen Farm, but is located around the corner from our Home Farm on Youngs Cove Road, near Reversing Falls. This is an off grid, rustic site with only a port-a-potty. If you need to use any other amenities, you are welcome to use the WIFI, fill your water bottles, charge your electric vehicle and buy supplies at the Smithereen Farmstore (12 Little Falls Road, Pembroke). We sell cold drinks, beer and wine, frozen fish, meat, our own fruit popsicles, also organic veggies, honey, products from many local and Maine farms, camping supplies, ready to eat food, snacks, chocolates and even fresh baked cookies. Park at the store, and then jump into the Pennamaquan River (two dams, a rope swing) to cool off after exploring the town. Note: there is no potable water at the site, you will need to bring a vessel and fill up in town. There are beautiful walking, biking and canoeing opportunities in every direction—check out Cobscook Shores, Downeast Coastal Conservancy trails by Reversing Falls, Maine Coast Heritage trails on the Bold Coast and at Sipps Bay, Nature Conservancy trail at Hersey Point, Shackford head at Eastport, and of course much more on Campobello. Blueberry bushes are low, native, fruit-growing, covered in flowers in spring and then berries in summer, turning bright bright red in the fall when kissed by frost. Our blueberries are certified organic by MOFGA and surrounded by birch, fir, spruce and flowering perennial beds to improve insect habitat. Please DO NOT DRIVE/ tread ON THE BERRIES, they are food that we harvest and sell! Park in the parking lot, three sites are immediately visible, the fourth site is a further drive down the road, past the port-o-potty, in the back field, to the left. Low hung vehicles beware! If in doubt park in the parking lot. Upon booking, we will send you a PDF welcome packet filled with helpful information about the farm, local sites to see, and a comprehensive list of our recommendations. We will say it again: remember to prepare for MOSQUITOES in summer! We really recommend you approach Washington County as an opportunity to PICNIC! The "dining out" options are limited. Bring a pocketknife, a frying pan, a big cooler for butter and milk with ice packs so you can pick up local crabmeat (Betty's Crabmeat) and mayo and salads (Smithereen Farmstore) and eggs from ends of driveways, bring a cutting board—a big water jug, a camp stove/kettle, more warm socks than you think you need... and a sense of adventure! We have a EAT DOWNEAST digital map, guidebook and brochure at the Farmstore you can pick up a copy or download from our website. Founded in 2024, Wild Soul Serenity (WSS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping others heal, reconnect, and thrive through the restorative power of nature and holistic wellness. Our mission is to create a sustainable sanctuary for Veterans, First Responders, creatives, and the broader community to experience mental, emotional, and spiritual renewal. WSS was born from a desire to serve and support others while building a sustainable, passive residual income model that reinvests into the land and the people it serves. Nestled in the wilderness near Acadia National Park, our off-the-grid campground merges rustic camping on a lake. Guests can unplug, realign, and reconnect with nature and themselves and receive services such as yoga, energy work, and bodywork in three ways: 1. When campers request private sessions during their stay. 2. When wellness professionals host ongoing services onsite. 3. During WSS-hosted events that feature healing arts practitioners. Our event space will be available for rental and collaboration with local businesses, nonprofits, and community groups—so long as their purpose aligns with our values: promoting wellness, building connection, and supporting mental health through holistic means and nature's tranquility. Each year we will build on this wilderness campground to make this a place for many. For 2025 we have just a few campsites, some have platforms, some without. Each campsite has a buffer of vegetation with the lake as a view, a fire pit and space to have more than one tent. There will be a camp style toilet; currently we are in motion to have a wooden privy built. There's no running water, not much cell service, no electricity. Park at the main road and pull/carry your camping items into the woods. Your site will be labeled. Trash in, trash out. Firewood, camp owned canoe, and walk the beach (if low levels). Dog friendly: must be friendly, on a leash and please be mindful of dogs digging. Here we value the land, it's sanctuary and soil erosion prevention along the shoreline. West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec, is another fine example If you like to make little side trips, make a plan, as there is a seemingly endless amount of worthy visits within a drive from the property. There is a market, hardware, lumberyard, and marine supply stores in town for supplies, gasoline, diesel, propane, and other necessities. Eating out options are possible as well. There are some options right in town, but more options a short drive to other neighboring areas. You will need to acknowledge, and agree to the rental agreement / liability waiver / Rules before you will be allowed to experience a stay at Searenity. This information is available in the RULES section of the booking and site details. By requesting to book, or booking, or staying at Searenity, You automatically acknowledge and agree to all of the terms listed. Searenity is off-grid private land, with no lighting, with gravel access roads only. So gravel pit is being mined for materials to maintain whole gravel section of Egypt lane (private road.) It’s 2 miles of gravel road . Then it will be reclaimed also . The pit is not to be explored . Also is not part of the campsites that are booked . There is plenty of flat land to stay safe In the meanwhile . there are sites that are semi complete wooded partly . Until they grow back . Your booking $ helps fund all of these projects that I do . Plenty of acres to explore quiet and peaceful. . Egypt stream flows around half the property .Gated for your security. A lot of nature . Wild life present. please leash your pets there’s porcupines around ! . Peaceful and Quiet! Close to a few parks and Acadia national park. Lemoine state park is very close . Bar harbor also . Campfires are ok no bonfires tho. NOTE: This site is fully off-grid and requires walking approximately 3-4 minutes on a forest trail from the parking area to get to the site. All equipment must be hand-carried in. I enjoyed my stay at Twin Bucks Cabin. It was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. An electric heater kept it warm even with temperatures at night in the upper 30s and there is also a secondary heater for when it gets really cold. You have electricity to keep all your things charged. There is no WiFi but with my cell carrier I had a good signal and could get online that way no problem. So it was warm, cozy and comfortable. Very quiet (with an occasional owl or loon calling!) And the hosts checked to see if I there was anything at all that I needed. Great place, great hosts!

Happy Dwelling is just 10 minutes from downtown Machias, Maine. It rests on 8 acres of land. Woods create a private and peaceful stay. You may enjoy starry night skies and soft orange sunrises. Just a short walk, is the lovely Sunrise Trail, a converted old train line, for biking, walking, four-wheeling, and horseback riding. Lakes are close by for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Learn more about this land: Open green space surrounded by pine trees. The sites are nestled in spaces surrounded by trees for a sense of peace and privacy. Firepits are at each site. Also on-site, chair and table massage by appointment (I am the Massage Therapist!). We built a new outhouse! It's beautiful! Potable water is available by hose from my house. There are lots of hiking trails in the area. If you're interested in touring some of the towns nearby, Lubec, Eastport, Machias, and Campobello Island are all good choices. And, they all have a hiking trail or two, and I place to have lunch.

The camp site is located on the same property as Robinson's Housekeeping Log Cottages. The business was started 4 generations ago with one small cabin in 1920 by William Robinson and his wife Shirley. The cottages are located on the bank of the Dennys River, on land owned by generations of Robinsons since 1875. There are 6 log cottages and one small clapboard cottage located on the property. We also have direct access to the Sunrise Trail. Learn more about this land: This campsite is located on the bank of the Dennys River and very close to the small pond also on the property. It is a wooded lot with a firepit (wood included), picnic table, and tenting/campervan spot. Nearby are a swing set, volleyball/badminton net, horseshoes, and a beach on the river. Water bottles can be filled at the Cottages office. There are canoes, a rowboat, and a kayak that can be used for free by campers. Life jackets can be found hanging outside by the office. We have direct access to the Sunrise Trail and are located between mile marker 79 and 80.

Learn more about this land: You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals. Walking past the pond and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below. The cabin is furnished with a full sized futon, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights. Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin. A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor. The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy. A small gas grill and cooler can be provided, Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

Explore the beauty of coastal downeast Maine from this quiet solar powered cabin and campsite along the Pennamaquon River. This remote property is surrounded by woods and connects two beauties--the Pennamaqoun Lake and Passamaquody Bay. The rocky Maine Coast, Reversing falls, the Sunrise Trail and the Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge are all nearby. Going up the river about 1/4 of a mile you will find yourself on a quiet lake where you are more likely to see an eagle than a person. About a 1/4 of a mile downriver you will come to a popular swim hole and rope swing. In the spring you might see spawning alewives. You may see ducks, eagles, king fisher, heron, beaver, turtles (or their nests) and loon right from the dock. You won't need your binoculars to catch site of the occasional Mainer floating by in a handmade wooden boat. If you wave, you might get a wave back. It's a soul restoring place appreciated most by those who like human powered activities--like kayaks, canoes and paddle boards (all provided) and a chance to cook on an open fire. There is a picnic table and 4 Adirondack chairs and no wifi. You might also like to swim or float down the river in an inner tube. You can fish on the dock or from your boat. If you have a bike-- head to the nearby Sunrise Trail or country roads. Head there too, if you have shoes and want a measured run (it goes about 87 miles through field, forest, swamp and bog with mileage noted). Eastport is a nearby seaside town with an arts center, shops and dining about 15 minutes away. You can go whale watching and you might just see porpoise, whales, eagles and Old Sow Whirlpool, the largest whirlpool in the Americas. Or stay on shore, and hunt for sea glass and cool rocks. Grab something to eat while you are there, and check out Don Dunbar's amazing nature photography and local gifts. There is also coastal hiking at Shackford Head. You might also head towards Lubec (about 45 minutes) and go on a coastal hike on the Bold Coast trail, or visit the Quoddy Head Lighthouse or cross the bridge into Canada and visist Campobello. Do not miss Monica and her handmade chocolates! You can also head North on Route 1 and go to Canada, just 30 minutes away. Hope to see you with children and dogs!

Tiny A-Frame Cabin on a personal wildlife preserve! Located a mile from the Passadumkeag River and three miles from the Penobscot River! Quiet Space! Come enjoy a 'Piece of my Peace!' If you would like a wheel barrow full of firewood provided there is some available on site for a small donation. • There is a hammock with a shade cover at the cabin for you to use. • There is a bug net provided in the cabin if you're in need of some extra protection indoors. • Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is a short drive with a few hiking trails. • Baxter State Park & Acadia National Park are each an hour and a half away (just in opposite directions). • A composting toilet is on site, with a scoop and bucket of sawdust to cover waste. I you need to pee, find a tree! If it's number two, use the loo! • No electricity at the cabin or on the property • No running or potable drinking water. Must bring in water. • The cabin is quite cozy for 1-2 people and/or 1-2 fur babies. The cabin itself has an 8x10’ floor plan with a full size futon. The deck gives another 3’ to enjoy your inside/outside stay. • The property DOES get full sun so be aware of finding shade throughout the day! I like to enjoy the river(s) and explore the area during the peak heat hours! • Mosquitos like to come out at dusk. Please be aware that you will be entering a *working farm*, full of life! Your stay with us is bound to be social and lively at times. There are places on the land that offer privacy, yet overall it is a cozy and intimate setting. We greatly welcome feedback for being the best homesteader-hosts we can be. - We have a hand-pump on our well that you can use for your fresh water supply 💦 There is no shower or bath option at this time (other than a fresh dip in the bay!) - Our state-of-the-primitive-art out house is available for your use 🌙 tucked into the woods along the path to the overlook and bay beach. If you plan to make a fire(which is 100% welcome!) please bring wood and kindling with you 🔥 - The walk down to the flat rock beach is erosion-prone. We’re so grateful to live on this piece of paradise, and wish to share the beauty and magic of the land with you! On the bold coast of Downeast Maine, we offer 2 tent sites. The Maple Grove Tent Site is located in a wooded, grassy area immediately adjacent to the driveway. The Birch Point Ocean Lookout is located at the water's edge, accessed via trail beginning at the Maple Grove, about a 2 minute walk from the driveway. The outhouse is located along this trail, on the way from the Maple Grove to the Ocean Lookout. Both options require a short walk from parking, which is currently on the roadside (new driveway work coming soon). The flat ledge beach looks out at a tidal bay fed by the Machias River. These are very refreshing (chilly!) and strong tidal waters. There are also beautiful (warmer) lakes and many hiking trails nearby, notably the Cutler Bold Coast Trail with epic seaside cliffs. Expect the area to be relatively buggy in summer months, and prepare to do head-to-toe tick checks! We’re about a 10 minute drive from the town of Machias where you can fill up on supply and provisioning needs. We're about 30 minutes from Lubec and 50 minutes from Eastport, two lovely seaside towns with art galleries, cafés, restaurants, and abundant coastal view points. The Machias River Corridor has 76 miles of wild, cascading rapids. This is a popular backcountry canoe route, and is home to the largest self-sustaining wild Atlantic salmon run in the United States. A portion of the park was named a “Globally Important Bird Area,” with over 180 bird species. The park contains over 60,000 acres of Machias River watershed, and is also home to moose and bear.
