We are the Davis’s and we started our off grid homestead in 2017. We reside on 80 acres of absolute beautiful nature. We have rolling hills covered in hardwoods throughout the property. Hence the name we chose Hardwood Hills Homestead. We currently have a dog (Sergeant), We will continue to add more livestock as we go. We also have a large garden and small orchard that we cleared the land for and have grown in it now for 2 years. Are goal it to be a close to self sufficiency as possible. Current project at the homestead: *We added a large addition to the existing cabin that was here when we purchased the property. We are still in the midst of finishing that. *Solar power will be are man power source once we finish the addition. *Next will be to add a pole barn for storage and parking.

Hardwood Hills Homestead offers a serene and secluded camping experience surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife. Many campers appreciate the privacy and tranquil setting, enhanced by the presence of baby frogs and deer. However, the rustic nature of the site means amenities like the porta potty and access roads can be challenging for some. Despite these minor inconveniences, the site's proximity to attractions like Interlochen State Park and Sleeping Bear Dunes makes it a desirable spot for those looking to explore the area.

Great place. Camped there 3 times. Will more than likely go back when I need a place to sleep while in the area.

Nice place
Porta potty was a little rough which is the only reason why I’m giving a mixed review. The place was nice and quiet, deer would pass by, and there were plenty of mushrooms around which were cool to see.

good time !
had a great one night stay at this secluded little spot - we were on site 4 and had no trouble falling asleep to the sounds of the woods ! lots of baby frogs when we arrived , super cute! about 45 minute drive from sleeping bear dunes and 30 from traverse city making this an affordable and quaint spot for anyone looking to experience those attractions

Beautiful forest property
We had a great time camping at Hardwood Hills Homestead! The heavily forested, large sites are secluded and private. There is a fire ring and picnic table at site 2 and I'm sure the others are similar. Interlochen state park is about 10 minutes away. Highly recommended!

The End of the Earth
If primitive is what you seek, this is it, you’ve reached “the end of the earth”. The fire wood “provided” is from fallen trees, so bring a chainsaw. The road consists of deep sand and “iffy” coming and going to the main road. Pack a shovel just in case. The owner never stopped by to check on my visit, I couldn’t find their house for water or trash. Not my style, won’t return
