Branbury State Park

Branbury State Park lies at the base of Mt. Moosalamoo. Sounds like something out of a Doctor Seuss book, doesn't it? So, basically it has to be awesome. In the lush forests surrounding the area you just might find something that looks like a Seuss creature too. Look in Lake Dunmore, which is the main attraction to Branbury. Once the home to a summer boy’s camp, the area is now open to more than just pre-teen youngsters. It’s a good thing too, because nothing beats cooling off in the lake on a sweltering afternoon.

Turn away from the beach and you’ll be faced with a number of adventurous options. Select hiking trails will take you to scenic vistas and waterfalls. Others will lead you into caves or up to mountain lakes. Bring a bike if you want, because the trails around here are well suited for peddling too. No option is a bad one, so take your pick or work through them one by one. No way is a wrong way around here.
