Beautiful spot on Lake Milakokia (1,956 acres) featuring walleye, perch, pike, and suckers with the most amazing sunrises as well as sunsets. Tahquamenon Falls, Kitchitikipi, Pictured Rocks Lakeshore, and the Mackinac Bridge all within an hours drive. Very quiet property. Pets welcomed but must be on a leash and attended at all times. Bars, restaurants, and dispensaries near by. Please note: This is not a campground. There are not designated sites. There are 4 areas on the property to camp. Two are within two feet from the beach, while the remaining two are about 50’ from the beach but have full views of the lake. We have approximately 400’ of lake frontage. These sites are in my yard. This partially wooded site, set back from the main road 250’, offers privacy while also being within the boundaries of the small community of Paradise. Restaurants, groceries and food trucks are a short walk away. The beach or the stair’s viewing deck offer a great spot to watch the sun rise over the lake while having your morning brew. You can pick wild blueberries in July and August in the woods between your camper and the beach. This is a rustic campsite without facilities or electricity. This property borders the South Charlotte River. It is in a very private location. You can drive into the camping area. We are located 12 miles south of Sault Ste Marie 1/3 mile west of M-129 on 12 Mile Road. It is a dirt road. The entrance is on the left or south side of the road. The property is good for either tent camping or a parking place for RVs. There is a new driveway that leads to the camping or parking areas. You can drive on the grass to get to the campsite. The campsite area is 50 yards from the road. You can set up anywhere in the cut grass area. There will be two white chairs and a garbage can. A small camp porta potty is available for your use.

This is a half an acre wooded lot in a residential neighborhood on a 25 mph paved road. It is a back in, full hook-up camping spot that is large enough to accommodate rigs big and small. 20, 30, and 50 amp electrical hook-up available along with potable water and septic. This lot is large enough to accommodate a large camper/motor home and tow vehicle. Vehicles will need to be self contained as there is no bathroom of any kind on the site. A picnic table and a fire ring are also on-site. Monocle Lake boat launch is 2 miles away. Monocle Lake is an inland 146 acre lake that is great for fishing and water sports. Foot traffic public access to Monocle is a 4 minute walk away. This spot is also a 5 min. Walk away from public access to the beaches of Lake Superior. Walk the miles of beach to your hearts content. Iroquois Point light house is along the way. Spectical Lake overlook is merely 3.1 miles away on a county road legal for ORV's. The overlook is the gateway to the Hiawatha National Forest trails. This area has many activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Single Track hiking and mountain biking trails and northern lights if you are lucky enough to catch them on the beach of Superior. This campsite is along the U.S. Forest Service Whitefish Bay Scenic Byway. Make this spot your home away from home while touring all Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula has to offer. 50 miles to Tahquamenon Falls; 51 miles to Sheplers Mackinaw Island Ferry, St. Ignace; 23 miles to the Soo Locks; 6 miles to the Bay Mills Resort and Casino; 23 miles to the Kewadin Casino - Sault Ste. Marie, MI 33 miles to Kinsman Park - Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada; some of the best professionally built Mt. Bike trails in the Midwest. Free wifi is available at the Dancing Crane Coffee House just 3.8 miles away. Four bars of ATT cell coverage at this site. This is a campsite we set-up for our own use, because we love the area. I have a few areas on the property that You can use to suit your needs. you can tent camp or vehicle camp at some and park and walk about 100 feet or so and tent camp only. there is power and water available on the property but not at each site. I am developing this into a place for camping slowly and that's why i only have a few areas as of right now. Unfortunately, there are no bathrooms to use yet. Update: gps for maps is in correct and takes to to neighbors driveway and home . The mail box for this place is blue and has a red address Tag and a sign that says Sailors Sky. Please turn immediately at mailbox. It has caused problems with having people on neighbors property with flashlights and police being called due to incorrect gsuspicious activity.

Shivering Timbers is a lovely, quiet campground. The sites are flat and open but somehow each site is secluded by pine trees. It is just 3 miles from Lower Tequamenon Falls to the West and 7 miles from Paradise to the East. Each site has a campfire 'ring' and Tim sells wood. We would highly recommend this campground.

First time using Hipcamp, and definitely not the last, thanks to Cory! Site 1 doesn’t have many photos, but it’s actually way better than we thought. it’s really spacious and the levitating tent was really nice. We also got half a dozen fresh farm eggs which was a nice touch to the experience. I’ll definitely come back to this spot whenever I’m in the UP.

Tim was our first experience with Hipcamp. If Tim is an example of what we can expect from other hosts (after careful scrutiny), we will be loyal customers. Tim, if you see these comments, please pass on a suspicious event to Hipcamp management----The VERY day we signed up with Hipcamp, our cell phone was bombed for about 10 days with spam calls. Finally, by blocking each call, it suddenly returned to the usual level of junk phone calls. Perhaps Hipcamp was hacked???

My brother and I enjoyed our stay on Neal’s land. There were other campers on the property but we never interacted with them. Because we got in late, we never met Neal. The land was right next to a road but it was not a busy road. It was a cheap and nicely located site! I would recommend this site to anyone just looking for a safe night’s sleep (with no amenities)

Owner was easy to reach. Site is nice and quiet. Neighbors are close but we never heard or saw them. Easily backed our 40 ft class A into site with enough space for two cars and our dolly. Had a nice campfire with wood that was provided. Beautiful location. Could even hear the waves of Lake Superior on a choppy evening.

The state park pales in comparison to the this wonderful campground! Stephanie and her family put love into what they do and it shows. The grounds were so well kept, the atmosphere was relaxing, and Stephanie was warm and welcoming! She shared stories, local treasures to go see, and was a delight to talk about life with. Her kids help around the camp and have the best firewood service I’ve seen!! This is a rustic campground (which we prefer. It keeps the normies away), but they have well kept porta potties and if you need a shower the state park is a few minutes down the road and offers showers for cheap. All around, this is a fantastic family environment that is growing beautifully! We will never go back to the crowded state park after finding this gem!

Cory was great! Welcoming and accommodating. Tent site was better than the pictures and gave a great deal peace and quiet only nature can offer. Also great location as it’s right near a gas station and breakfast spot! Cory was also very understanding for a slight, self-imposed hiccup which was managed in only a couple messages back and forth. Would definitely stay here again if I end up in the same area again.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park is a land of epic proportions. It’s namesake attraction alone resembles one of the legendary scene-scapes in the Odyssey. As you can imagine, this park is not short of ways to keep your eyes in awe and your brains stimulated. Trails on top of trails on top of trails are waiting for you. Also available is hunting, fishing, moose and wildlife viewing, and paddle sports. Never mind wondering if you’re gonna stay the night, we promise it will be worth it and with a wide variety of accommodation options, you'll feel comfortable staying however long you’d like.

Tahquamenon Lower Falls Campground
We visited here on 8/6/17 Fairly busy campground with only a few unoccupied spaces. The camping sites aren't very spread out but our fellow campers were quiet and friendly. This is about a mile away from the lower falls with a hiking trail leading directly from camp. Nice to wake up and check them out before the crowds show up. A much longer day can be made by hiking to the upper falls. Shuttle and driving options are also available.

Camped for 2 nights this summer. Crowded on weekend and seemed to be on top of a lot of campers but people were respectful. There is a nice pavilion with a few grilles .5 miles from the campsite with a beautiful view of the river. Would definitely go back on our way to pictured rocks!

Tahquamenon Lower Falls Campground
Beautiful place. Be sure to visit both falls. The lower falls are long and cascading. The upper falls are ones that are usually seen in pictures. They are higher with a 50 foot drop. Both worth falls are worth seeing any time of year. My opinion is they are most beautiful in the winter.
