Half of the property is *heavily wooded* for that deep forest feel, while the other half is wide open and well-maintained, giving you plenty of options for sun or shade, depending on your mood. Each site comes equipped with a firepit for all your campfire stories, s’mores, and starry nights. Parking? No problem! There's plenty of room for your vehicle(s), so you won’t have to worry about squeezing into a tight spot. Need a little more comfort? Water and electric are available upon request for an additional charge, to keep your trip as easy-breezy as possible. Also have a boat available during summer months for you fisherman as there are about 5 lakes within 10 miles all good for fishing. Plus the legendary Manistique river.

Shivering Timbers Family Campground, the closest private camp to Tahquamenon Falls (3 miles) and 15 minutes from Two Hearted River Trailhead and Crisp Point lighthouse access. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, access to water spigot, and portable toilets. We offer 4 primitive tent/van/small RVs to park on spacious sites in private spots surrounded by state land. Our boys sell firewood, delivered to your site! We can be your headquarters for all attractions that will make your stay enjoyable. Located only 5 minutes from Lower Falls State Park, 10 minutes from Upper Falls, we have a variety of trails, river access and lakes to get you going on a nice hike or a relaxing afternoon of fishing. Rustic it may be but the use of quiet generators are allowed and we are pet friendly. We have a community field with games and a fire pit to use. Self-contained trailers are welcome (no hookups yet). Steps from snowmobile trails and near Lake Superior (10 miles), Star gazing, rock hunting or bird watching are all ideal for family fun or quiet escapes. Tahquamenon Falls State Park is a land of epic proportions. It’s namesake attraction alone resembles one of the legendary scene-scapes in the Odyssey. As you can imagine, this park is not short of ways to keep your eyes in awe and your brains stimulated. Trails on top of trails on top of trails are waiting for you. Also available is hunting, fishing, moose and wildlife viewing, and paddle sports. Never mind wondering if you’re gonna stay the night, we promise it will be worth it and with a wide variety of accommodation options, you'll feel comfortable staying however long you’d like.
