Weekend Trip to Peaceful Prairie Campsites

I can’t say enough about how much we’re loved this camping experience! It was beautiful, peaceful and the sunsets… wow!!!

LOVED camping at this spot! Great view at Scott's bluffs and great opportunity to hike right next to them with trails. Lisa was very nice and welcoming with everything! She showed us where we were staying and was very friendly! With it being dry there was a fire ban, but we were fine with as it was all ready so warm! Shower was great after a hot morning hike and was very cute with how it was repurposed. We will definitely have to check out this place again!

2 nights at Peaceful Prairie Campsites

It was so fun camping right by Scott's bluff! It made for really good camp photos having beautiful scenery in the background. Also, when we arrived it was very windy, but Lisa moved us to another available site that was shielded from the weather and closer to the entrance and bathroom. It was very nice of her!

1 night at Terry Bison Ranch Resort

Terry Bison Ranch was a great overnight spot on our way up to the Grand Tetons. Super accommodating, they let us in with a late reservation and when we woke up the next morning with battery issues in our RV, they were really understanding of our challenges and let us stay a couple hours after check out while we waiting for a new battery to arrive. Beautiful scenery and a great place to be stuck in for a few extra hours!

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Prairie Campsites

I loved how the hosts came to welcome me to the property and personally give me directions to the site. Throughout the stay if there was something that was wrong I was informed immediately. The host Sarah told me of the potential dangers (snakes as it is in a prairie; and I had no issues) and answered any questions I had. She informed me of the wildlife in the area and what I could see. I felt very safe as a young solo female traveler. The views from my site was amazing. I could hear some louder cars on a highway but it still was very calming and you could see thousands of stars. I heard more wildlife than anything else.

I had an amazing stay at Last Chance in Cheyenne. Beautiful land and easy drive in. Christine and her dog Brandon met me when I came in. She is incredibly friendly and gracious and the space is comfortable, safe and quiet. Highly recommend and I will be back!

Perfect place if you need to do some work on your camper. Also, for locals if family is in town, economic place to camp for a couple days. Simple gravel level parking lot.

Weekend Trip to The Last Resort

We enjoyed our stay at The Last Resort so much! It was a lovely property, even though the weather was not agreeable; cold, rainy, and windy. But we were snug in our campervan, and our hosts met us as we drove in to help us get settled. We were also genuinely touched by their hospitality, which included coffee and breakfast in the morning. They get a 10/10 review from us!

1 night at Cheyenne City RV Spots

This was a great place for us to stop for the night. We needed a place to sleep and they were very flexible. The address on the Hipcamp site lead us to the other side of town, so heads up for others. We quickly sorted this matter out and we're across town in 10 minutes. Walking distance to grocery store. The site is behind the large garage and has an open field with view of the local high school. This was fine with us. Plenty of space for our dogs to roam on their leads. Safe area, residential neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay.

This place, from what I could see in the dark was really nice! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to fulfill the entirety of my reservation because my pop up would not pop up for the life of me, despite a full battery and being plugged into electricity, provided on site. Additionally, my son started vomiting at the same time and the situation just kind of kept getting worse for me, so I decided to leave for a hotel. I am sure I am looked at as a poor guest in this situation, as packing up was louder than I should have let it been. The host was great and accommodating in the short bit I got to use them.

Very easy process. Everything was just as advertised. The electric heater got it cooking and I slept like a champ on the super soft bed. Woke up to a beautiful morning on the prairie with great views. Would highly recommend!

We stopped in briefly overnight on a trip out West. The host and his family were friendly and accommodating.

Open land with cooking amenities with both an outdoor kitchen as well as a sheltered cooking area. Showers available by reservation and small campfires allowed. We visited in mid-December and were only one of three campers using the grounds. It is only a few minutes off the interstate and was easy to find.

One of the Snowbird campsites, along the Timber Lake trail. It was very well maintained. A bull moose walked through my campsite, twice! This is the closest campground to Timber Lake (1/4 mile up the trail) and is very convenient for a dayhike up Mount Ida.

Under the care of third generation steward, Lisa Betz-Marquez, the beautiful bluffs feature a stunning backdrop to a those seeking a private and peaceful experience, birding, wildlife-spotting, or an adventure-seeking hike. Rustic Tent sites (allowing cars, vans, rooftop tents, truck campers, and motorcycles, but not RVs or pull-behind trailers) are located directly on the prairie. The prairie is a fragile environment. To preserve its beauty and health, trailers and RVs must book the RV sites. We appreciate your cooperation. RV sites 50 amp electricity and a rustic experience on crushed concrete near our corral. You'll have foot access just steps from the prairie. All sites share access to delicious potable water, a clean porta potty, and a funky outdoor camp shower (with unheated water), as well as private foot access to hiking at various levels of challenge to the south side of our nation's Scotts Bluff National Monument. A small group of yearling cattle are at home on the prairie in summer months, and may share you the prairie tent area with campers in the months of May and June. My homestead is located on 4 1/2 acres of pastureland that currently have no animals. The camping spots are located on the back part of the property and along a refurbished shed that includes a 20amp plug, 1 added 30 amp plug & interior electric, clean well water delivery or hose filling in warmer months as well as a separately fenced area for visiting canines (Please only non-aggressive breeds unless leashed at your camp). My Golden has an invisible fence and is not allowed to visit campers unless permitted. Fires are only permitted and shared on the back patio of my home. Activities for fun on site include corn hole, firepit on lower patio along with a propane weber grill. Only 1-2 mile from Frontier Park and an electric bike ride to downtown to tour the museums, restaurants & shops. Currently, new to hip camp and refurbishing the house and exterior so The Shed will be a working/congregating space with refrigerator/freezer, electric cooktop and indoor space with electric heater so folks can escape their cars/vans. Wi-Fi will eventually be in The Shed but is currently available on my back patio. This was my dream come true property and I'm looking forward to sharing it with road warriors like me. Weather is forever changing here and clouds roll by fast leaving the most fabulous rainbows. I just ask that no fires of any kind be set at your site because the field is a fire hazard in the dry plains.
