FHU, Pull-thru RV Sites - 30'
I appreciate that this host accepted my reservation, since my previous booking cancelled on me an hour before I got to Cheyenne. But when I didn't find my reservation info at the front office, I called the # via Hipcamp, no answer. When I called the # posted on the building, the person who answered seemed annoyed that I didn't know the office was closed on Sundays. I was also given a different spot, #27A (someone was already in spot #30). Pros: The men's room and showers were clean, and the lock worked. The site is pretty accommodating to dogs, and has a fenced in spot and poo bags. Cons: While they did have poo bags posted all over the site, there was poop all over the place and the trash cans were full to the brim. And even though they provided key codes for the bathrooms, the women's room lock was broken. It also had people trafficking posters, and the combination of these things sends an awkward message. I did not feel comfortable trying the showers because of this. The grey water disposal site is elevated, which doesn't allow for effective disposal.

We've stayed in KOA/Rjourney cabins in other places before, and they are always a perfect budget choice for when you just need to get away from it all and have a cozy space with a bed for the night. However, the road noise at this location was basically impossible for a light sleeper to sleep through, with semi trucks going BUMP-BUMP over a spot in the nearby highway all night. Again, this is a budget stay, so I don't expect a five-star hotel experience, but the cabin was extremely dusty, one of the lightbulbs was dead, the smoke detector battery compartment was wide open and empty, and the men's room didn't have any soap. However, the staff I spoke to when checking in and out were super friendly and I believe if I'd voiced these concerns for a stay longer than one night, they would have been addressed. I would still recommend this Rjourney if you need a simple, affordable place to crash, but there is room for improvement.
