This farm is unique in that it was cleared and stripped of its topsoil and its fill was sold off to the state. What was left behind was a pond and some poor farmland. I purchased this less desirable property inexpensively and have been working tirelessly to regenerate the property to a farm that mimics nature and our natural ecosystem. I have planted over 1000 trees and perennial shrubs to move this property into an oak savannah-like natural farming system. "The Twenty" is a neat campsite right on the Little Wolf River. This land has been in my family for generations. My dad tells stories of fishing the holes while they made hay when he was a kid. Definitely fishing opportunities, as well as floating down the river (tube, canoe, kayak, sup). There's a nice swimming hole right out from the campsite.
The other property is on my pasture-based farm. It's a few miles from the Little Wolf. There is the "FarmStay" Camper, as well as a couple campsites nestled in the woods with a great views of the pastures, woods, and wetlands.
We've also recently added a pond that's able to be used by our guests to swim in!
There are 100+ acres that can explored on this 100% pasture-based beef operation. We're working on improving the trails. It's beautiful out there!

PLEASE NOTE with heavy rain all wheel drive (AWD) is needed to park next to your site. If you don't have AWD, there's parking by the rec room. We can transport you to your site if there are issues.

Riley Crest Farm is located in Amherst, Wisconsin. Close to Hartman Creek St Park, on the north side of Hwy 54. We are diversified farm. We have a small herd of dairy cows, 50 dairy/meat goats, a horse named Willow and mule named Molly, a couple pigs or chickens in the summer, lots of cats. We specialize in goats for meat. Grazing girls roam 30 acres of pasture close to camping. Our goats are very friendly. We are currently not milking goats. We sell eggs and meat from our farm store.

Our pond front RV site is located on the northern tip of the Kettle Moraine Forest within 300 yards of the hiking trails. 2 miles from the gates at Road America, Elkhart Lake WI, and Elkhart’s swimming, biking trails and great restaurants. 30 Amp power and water hook ups for RV's are available. The Kettle Moraine Ice AgeTrail is just across the pond. The Glenbeulah Millpond offers fishing and kayaking and we provide free use of our kayak and row boat. Local suppliers usually have a bunch of firewood for the included firepit and we include a nice table and chairs for your picnics. Swimming is near by at Elkhart Lake and the mountain biking trails in the Kettle Moraine Forest are wonderful. There is WiFi. We have a dog that is overly friendly and will hang out near your camper. The farm has been in the family for four generations.
We don't have any livestock anymore and rent the fields to the neighbors but the home, outbuildings and five acres are well-loved and used as our home base and also for rustic weddings, graduation parties, reunions and barn dances.
In 1974, the farm was used as the location for the TV movie "Things in Their Season" starring Patricia O'Neal.
We put up one of the first barn quilts in the county and are on the route of the Bike the Barn Quilts bike ride (held last Saturday in September.)

Site 3 – Boardwalk Trail Site
The wooded Boardwalk Trail opens to secluded grassy site ideal for tent or hammock camping. A stone fire pit is included.

I'm pretty sure this was the most peaceful camping experience I've had. The lake is beautiful, the site is level and easy to back into (thanks to Rick waving me in and then jumping into my Jeep to finish the last little bit!), and very peaceful. The property is situated on a dead end street so not alot of traffic. Rick and Lynn are super friendly and accommodating. Rick checked on me a couple times to make sure I had everything I needed and offered a couple places to eat but the rest of the time I was left to my privacy. Even though their house is right there you still feel like you're completely alone. My only visitor was caretaker, Duffy, their friendly collie (who has a serious cheese addiction!). Duffy routinely checked on me (I suspect for the aforementioned cheese habit) and snoozed under my trailer. I asked for an early check in time and Rick told me to come anytime and upon check out there was no pressure to leave at check out as they had no one booked for that day. However, had I not left at check out time I never would've left!! I will definitely be back!

I thoroughly enjoyed at Leon's Campground. He was kind enough to reach out by phone shortly after booking to explain in great detail how to get to the site, which was well marked.
I had site 1 that sat on top of the hill, overlooking Lake Winnebago, and the sunsets were stunning! Also got to watch a storm roll in from the West my first night, which was a welcome bonus.
Firewood was provided and shortly after getting the fire going, we had a doe come visit our site as it strolled on past.
I know, we're camping but have to point out how clean, well manicured, and freshly mowed the site was with thick grass. Much better than the dirty sites I'm accustomed to when camping. Was able to hangout on the ground with my dog and we stayed relatively clean due to the thick turf.
Best part, hardly any bugs! Since the campground is on a hill, there's usually a steady breeze keeping the mosquitoes at bay. Only encountered bugs for a couple hours one evening when the wind died down but still no mosquitoes.
I thought about not leaving a review to keep this gem hidden but Leon deserved a great review. I don't get out to camp as much as I'd like but when I do get out, I'll be checking this one again!

Fantastic hosts and meticulously maintained property! We stayed 3 nights in our class C motorhome. A bonus is the on-site ice cream shop with farm to tables eats, gourmet honey, hand crafted salsa and other items. We enjoyed very quiet nights, with only the sound of crickets.

Host were very responsive. Sites are nice and secluded. Very well kept, clean, available trash can etc. They are also very close to town so if you need to run for quick supplies it's just down the road. The site are pretty close to a busy road heading into town so traffic noise can be somewhat steady until around 5-6 pm
When it settles down and gets pretty quiet. That was fine as I was busy setting up camp and getting dinner rolling so by time I was ready to settle down, relax it was nice and quiet. There is room to walk around and explore after a good dinner. I would recommend site overall just be aware of traffic earlier afternoon but it does quiet down in later afternoon and evening. No issues with returning for another camp. I also tried to check out the lake near town but was unable to find a place that allowed me to park and access. To be fair I was just driving around so didn't stop to look up were the docks or boat ramps were located. Next time I may bring my knack and spend time at the lake. Thanks for the opportunity and great hospitality!!!

We loved tent camping on Josh and Brenda’s land! They are so kind and helpful, they were flexible in arranging check in. The fresh eggs were a nice and generous surprise! The campsites sites are beautiful, clean and well maintained right along the river. Site 1 is closest to the porta potty, site 2 is in the middle and site 3 is on the other side. There are wood fences separating the sites for privacy which helps but the sites are pretty close together. They have 2 awesome docks we used for fishing and sunbathing! The property is close to the highway so there is road noise which is something I wish I would’ve known. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend!

I have a toddler who was having a hard time sleeping the first night and we ended up walking to the clubhouse, rocked in the recliner and fell back asleep- it was truly a life saver.

We have stayed at this little slice of heaven a few times. We love that Roy has opened up this slice of heaven for others to enjoy. if you love fishing and nature, this is the place! Roy is a great guy, All the wood is cut , if you need anything he will bring it to you. We were there for this visit for 5 days, I caught around 130 fish, bass and blue gill, saw muskrats, heard loons and an owl in the distance, saw cranes, A baby fawn, then next day baby fawn with mom, several different type birds, cardinals, ducks, red wing black birds, many different types, a few turtles. Wonderful place, for peace and quiet.

Been camping here many times always a pleasure. The geology of this location is something very interesting. It’s on Niagara escarpment. The outcropping is Silurian Dolomite. Basically sediment of an ancient sea floor that geologist think was at one time located near the equator that migrated due to plate techtonic shifts.

This is a quite private cabin sitting on the edge of a large pond. Loved the quiet and the porta-potty was close. Great friendly host. Peace and quiet among the farms. We loved staying there. Even has limited electric to charge up electronics.
