Mid-June update: Firefly season is here and it looks to be another good year, although we havent seen biblical numbers like the past years yet. Soon? Under next week's full moon?? The river is at about 85% peak summer quality this week. Very warm and ready for lounging, floating or kayaking. A few details about our sites in the general camping area: Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10,11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6,7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others. Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended. We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans 4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events. Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. (Our Cosmic Cottage is also rustic, despite the amenities that come with it). - CAMPSITES and TREEHOUSE - No electricity or wifi on the land. Campsites and TREEHOUSE are nestled in the woods. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site and get any closer because of the trees. - SHOWER and PORTA POTTY - roughly a 5 minute or less walk from sites to shower and / or porta potty. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . You can drive to the shower if you need to. - RESPONSE TIME - This is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we so do not always have our phones on us. Great location and very friendly operations! We fished, floated and hiked the caves. Greg helped make the experience very easy and relaxing! Highly recommend if you like the additional activities while camping!

This was such a great trip! We had to reschedule twice for weather and it was no problem. We came on a Sunday when few folks were there and Greg upgraded us to a site right next to the path to the water. (Site 8) we enjoyed the water and being on the C&O and definitely want to bring our bikes next time. A great place to take a group - lots of space and easy hosts. Provided great campfire wood and two camp cats to hang out with!

Our favorite ever! My son is 8, and this camping experience was our favorite setup. I wish we could have done more than 2 nights! Very close to public access streams, great downtown, and the Cacapon state park! Pablo and Lorena are very sweet, friendly, thoughtful and accommodating. 10/10 a must stay with kids!!

Taylors Landing exceeded our expectations. It sits alongside the beautiful Potomac which is amazing for paddleboarding. Theres also a 180 mile trail for hiking and biking. Greg was a great host and has a gem of a property. Highly recommend.

This place is a hidden gem, between a creek and the banks of the Greenbrier river. Definitely follow the owner's directions because GPS was trying to take us a different way! The facilities are very nice (bathroom, shower, wash area). The campground is conveniently located off the Greenbrier River trail and a short walk ( less than a mile to Jack Horners store (where they sell everything). The owner was polite and responsive to my questions. The dark skies and fireflies were our favorite! Such a beautiful place, will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to River Trail Hollow

#10 is a great site for a camper! Level and easy to back in. We loved how spaced out the different sites are. Bathrooms, dish washing, and showers are all nearby but not too close. Route into the campground is tight but is not too bad if you are comfortable pulling your trailer. Near 100F in Central Virginia, maybe mid 80s here. Proximity to the Greenbrier River and the Greenbrier River Trail can’t be beat!

We tent camped at site #4 for the weekend and loved it. It was more private than most campsites. The view and sound of the creek behind our tent was one of my favorite parts. There is a 4-5ft drop off behind site #4 so unfortunately you can't just go strait to it from your site but its only a min walk to a path to the creek. The showers and bathrooms were sparkling clean and there was plenty of firewood for sale. We hope to visit again in August.

We had a wonderful stay here. Steve’s land is very well cared for with clean bathrooms and showers. The land is beautiful and the campsites feel well spaced and private. It’s within walking distance to a Greenbrier River access point. The whole area is beautiful, highly recommend
