Weekend Trip to Shangri La Push

We had a great long weekend at Shangri La Push in our camper. Dale is fantastic and is one of the original HipCamp hosts. Each RV site has power, water and even WiFi with good bandwidth. We loved our time here and it’s just a few miles from amazing hikes down to 1st, 2nd and 3rd beaches.

Like all of the previous reviews, the campground and its hosts were fantastic. Perfect area for hiking and exploring the Hoh and the coastal area. The quietness was so refreshing. We look forward to a future return.

Such a perfect little campground! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for some quiet peace out in the woods. The wifi was great, and made up for the lack of cell phone reception! Would definitely return!

Weekend Trip to Wild WA Coast Lookout ($75 - $125)

Campsite #5 (4 people) (2 tents): 1000% worth it, we were able to fit our party just fine. We had 2 large 10x10ish tents and had plenty of room around us. Tent site, picnic table, and fire pit all have beautiful views of the coast. We heard a great horned owl both nights but had no midnight visitors so that was good. The campsite is off the path to the beach which sounds like traffic, but with the little sites available it was truly unnoticeable and only a couple happy walkers. Don’t park infront of the pathway park off to the side. Short walk to the site is just downhill around the bend. You will walk up that to get to your running water/bathroom/super sick awesome outdoor shower. I can’t stress this enough about the shower, it will be top 10 in your life. The bathroom has motion sensor lighting, is bright, clean, and warm. Continuing down to the beach there are many powwow spots for your party and drift tree trucks taller than anyone. Truly beautiful spot and I can’t thank the owner enough for having up!

We had an amazing camping at Aliya Preserve. Site 3 is very spacious with a beautiful view out to the coast. Though, it looks like all of the sites are pretty great. There’s an area to the side of the picnic table where we setup our tent that was protected from the wind. The property is very well maintained—great signage, clean restrooms and sink stations, beautiful path down to the beach. It’s extra convenient that they have bundles of firewood available to buy. We stayed in late April and were fortunate to have wonderful weather. Our dog had fun running around on the beach and hanging out at the campsite. Can’t wait to come back!

Dale is a great host; very helpful and proactive with suggestions of the best places to visit. It's well-located as a jumping off point to all the scenic beaches and hiking nearby. I lucked out on timing because when I arrived, I had the tent camping area all to myself. Others came in the following evening, but the vegetation and strategic parking still provided an atmosphere of privacy. The shower, bathroom, and outhouse options were a nice perk, too. I highly recommend this little bit of paradise!

We only stayed one night, but it was incredibly peaceful and restorative. The ocean view is breathtaking, and the meditation area was such a calming, special space — we felt relaxed the moment we arrived. The outdoor shower was perfect: private, refreshing, and made the whole experience feel even more connected to nature. Even in a short stay, we left feeling recharged. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful escape!

Wow probably one of the greatest coastal campsite I've stayed at here. Views are incredible, lotsa privacy, clean facilities and good firewood in stock. Will be back again.

We loved camping at Dale & Wendy’s place! The sites were very nice and felt super secluded. Quiet at night with beautiful dark skies & close to all the beaches along the coast of Olympic! The tide pools were amazing! Dale was a great host; super friendly, incredibly kind & made our stay very comfortable! The property is beautiful too!

Honestly, it was probably one of the best places I’ve ever stayed, both around the world and in the United States. We were lucky to have neighbouring campsite empty, which added to already secluded experience. Highway 101 is backing up the reserve, but since it’s not very frequently travelled, we were never bothered by any cars. If anything, ocean waves created a nice background noise. The views are incredible, each campsite (we checked them all out) are providing a wonderful view on Pacific Ocean. if you’re not into breathing back to back with other people in state park campgrounds, have a dog who’s enjoying beach time and value privacy, then you’re in for a good time. I can justify the higher price for campsite , because I’ve walked around the property and it looks very well taken care of. Loved the hot water in the shower and clean bathrooms. The only thing is that for 25$ charge for dog, there could be some poop bag stations provided (or at least one). Side note: before going to the beach, always check tide chart. It’s pretty remote and you don’t want to be caught off guard. We thank you for letting us stay and enjoy your beautiful home. Looking forward for another trip!

3 nights at Shangri La Push

We just got home and are already looking at the calendar to choose another day to come back. The camp spots are beautiful and well spaced apart. We were camping with a two-year-old and five-year-old, so having access to the bath house was great! They also have a really cool outdoor shower. We’ve been coming to La Push for many years, and I have to say, the location of this camp couldn’t be better. First Beach was just a short drive away as well as Rialto. Dale and Wendy are lovely people, and we feel lucky that they chose to share their land with us.

2 nights at Hoh River Campsites

Excellent communication, beautiful land meticulously managed and a warm welcome upon arrival. I stayed in site 7 which was private and very quiet. I saw elk on my first drive off the property! Maggie and Dan's land is a perfect landing pad for exploring the area. It would also be the perfect place to sit by the river and have a fire. It was a little too chilly and windy when I was there in April, but goodness it could be a lot of summer fun!

2 nights at Shangri La Push

Dale greeted us upon arrival and is such a cheerful, lovely human with lots of suggestions for the area! We were given a very generous wheel barrel full of firewood including kindling and firestarter! We were able to choose our own site & every site was well maintained, provided privacy, nice flat gravel pads, a picnic table and firepit. There is an outdoor cedar bath house & two washrooms available. One is heated! It was nice and quiet, with just a little traffic noise from La Push Road. My daughter, dog and I will happily return again and again. Thanks Dale for the great stay!

I very much enjoyed my stay at Shangri La Push. The host, Dale, was exceptionally kind and accommodating, checking every now and then to make sure I was good and to share any news about the site. The shower was an in great order, and the sites were well maintained, offering a clean environment to stay at. I highly recommend this spot for access to lots of what La Push, Forks, and the surrounding areas have to offer. It was a great camping experience and I expect to visit again.
