2 nights at Pastimes on Passage Creek Ranch

Loved the site. The bathrooms were exceptional. Host was very communicative. We loved the horses just over the stream. The lake was an awesome bonus that our kids loved. All in all a wonderful experience.

3 nights at Harmony Tree Farm

We loved camping here, the fire pit and benches were great, and there was a nearby table for prepping food. Matthew was very friendly and the beach at the river was an enjoyable little adventure. Definitely would visit again.

Weekend Trip to 1850's Greenock Farm, plus 4WD site

We had a great experience staying on Randy's property @site #1 in our toy hauler. The land was beautiful with soft rolling hills viewed from our camp site and the fire pit was stocked upon arrival which was greatly appreciated. Randy gave us clear directions to our site with the ability to pick the best spot suited for us. Randy was a pleasure to meet and an exceptional host. We definitely recommend staying there.

Weekend Trip to Button Farm

Button Farm was wonderful. The field was large but had a nice private/intimate feel to it. We enjoyed chatting with Steven during our check-in. I would highly recommend staying here.

Weekend Trip to Harmony Tree Farm

Second stay. Very nice. River is a 5 minute hike. The bluebells were out this last time. Shenandoah River Park is my favorite for hikes, so did a day trip there. Skyline Drive is less than an hour —-if you can plan it for sunrise or sunset you will be awestruck. Sunset at the camp’s river was pretty. There’s a couple of owls in residence—I enjoyed listening to them on both trips.

Weekend Trip to Watercress Inn at Landon Farm

This was a perfect location. The facilities were in excellent condition. It is conveniently located to hiking and the NP. My kids loved visiting the farm and seeing the animals. We look forward to returning!

Weekend Trip to Happy Heart Highlands and Alpacas

We loved our night on Kimberly’s land! We have a small campervan and so were able to stay at her Peaceful Pond site, which lived up to its name. The working farm can be seen from the site, but is far enough away to offer the privacy we wanted. It was also nice to have the option of using Kimberly’s clean portapotty. We’d love to return!

Site 4 was perfect for little ones! The water isn’t too deep there. We loved our first camping trip!

2 nights at Watercress Inn at Landon Farm

The Birdsong camp site was clean and well kept. The fire ring is nice, there is a flat picnic table area, a pad for a tent and a bathhouse/kitchen combo area. It’s clear to see that some thought and money were put into this site. Communication with the host was always clear and responsive. Overall we had a great time there. The only issue we had was a dog that seemed to start barking every night around 10 pm. It even ended up in our camp barking at us the first night. I understand that this is a working farm, so noises from goats, chickens etc were expected in the morning and throughout the day, but no one anticipated the nights to be disruptive.

Weekend Trip to 1850's Greenock Farm, plus 4WD site

We stayed at Randy’s property for two nights. It is situated in an area of beautiful farmland, yet very close to Annapolis. The site options vary, with some being more private than others. Randy has fire pits, chairs and wood at all sites. While there were no crops when we there in early April, the birds and peepers were plentiful and we were treated to their symphony each morning and evening. We will definitely stay here again if in the area.

We absolutely loved our time at Eric’s place. We stayed at the spot by the lake and truly loved every minute. The property is stunning and very well manicured and cared for. Our kids fished and kayaked for hours on end, we listened to the crazy frogs, walked to the creek, disconnected and truly had the best time. Even the portapotties were clean! We couldn’t recommend this place more. We also hiked the Buzzard Rock trail which is only a few minutes down the road. If you’re looking to unplug from life and just rest and soak in nature, this is the place!

Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! The recreational draw to this area is hard to beat in VA and this property has it all for an amazing outdoor weekend! The ranch consists of 40 acres of low-land pasture, groomed perfectly for camping groups large or small. The Lakeside Mountain Stream site offers the option to camp on our 5-acre lake or camp creekside in the Cedar Grove sites along the banks of Passage Creek. Creek access varies at each site depending on the bank. The Ceadar Grove sites are just a short walk to the lake and beach amenities. The property has 1/2mi of Passage Creek wrapping around all the campsites, as well as, the privet lake to enjoy. I have all kinds of boats to try out and the waters are stocked with Bass, Blue Gill, and Catfish. Please catch and release. Passage Creek is stocked with Rainbow, Brown, Tiger, and Brook Trout throughout the year. The prime waters are just a mile upstream from Pastimes on Passage Creek Ranch. The Creekside Cedar sites are located within a sparse, groomed, Cedar grove along the banks of Passage Creek. These sites are extra large and can accommodate multiple family groups, as well as, travel trailers of all sizes up to off-road motorcoaches in site 1. There are no hookups, so It's just boondocking. Pack it in, Pack it out. Generators are allowed but please be aware of the other sites and direct the noise away. Groups of up to 25 people per site can realistically fit. Each site is very large with car camping space included. The Lakeside Mountain Stream site is very secluded, nestled between the mountains and the lake. It overlooks our 5-acre lake with mirror mountain views in the background. This site also has its own dock and is just a short walk down a mowed trail to a beautiful section of Passage Creek. An additional seasonal mountain stream can cascade behind the site and run under it to feed the lake when the conditions are right. The road can accommodate bumper pulls up to about 35ft to make the turn at the site. However, it is best suited for lighter traffic and smaller tent groups. At higher capacity, single-file parking is needed along the lake road. Max 10 people in order to keep some grass on the ground. Please, if you need more space - go to one of the Cedar Grove sites. Locally, the North end of Fort Valley offers many great hiking trails, trout fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and the Elizabeth Furnace day-use park. Taskers Gap OHV/ATV park is a short drive south, and the valley is sandwiched between both forks of the Shenandoah River for those looking to paddle. Additionally, the local towns (Front Royal, Strasburg, Woodstock) offer their own charm and wide range of activities and attractions.

This beautiful property is nestled in a narrow valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing in our pastures. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable.

General Lee and his troops once camped here. But they cleaned up pretty good, so all you can really see is the old spring and wagon road. This is a working herb and small fruit farm. We have been experimenting with all kinds of exotic herbs and trees. Some make it, many don't. We sell dried herb teas. In addition we have 5 different kinds of bamboo. We use the bamboo for so many things. In the 5 people per site we are considering adults, not children... bring a whole crew of kids (try to have enough supervision - if there is such a concept!) The kids have such a great time out here... it is amazing. They love the labyrinth! It seems like we made this place for the kids in ourselves and when actual kids see it they go wild. The last bunch were running and yelping with their picked flowers all round and round in the labyrinth for hours! Also, if you want peace and quiet - and we have children booked - we will put you out at one beautiful remote campsites away from all the kids running and singing.
