Evensong Farm is a preserved historic farm adjacent to the Antietam National Battlefield. We have set up two, almost identical, sites on a 60 acre parcel of our farm which is very private for our campers, but allows access to the lovely Antietam Creek. The sites themselves are about 500 feet apart so, while they maintain privacy when booked by different parties, can also be booked together for group stays.
We have been hosting campers at our "glampsites" since 2021. Each off-grid site has a 12x16 platform with a 10x12 canvas side wall tent, a firepit and chairs, a cooking area with a grill and sink for washing up, a picnic table and benches, and a private bathroom with a composting toilet and solar shower bag. The main tent is set up for 2 people, although 4 is possible. The sites can handle a max of 12 people, with the use of additional tents (BYO or you can set up some of ours). We provide an electronic camp guide to all of our campers that include our recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as camping tips and other handy info.
Inside the tent you will find a queen size bed, side tables, and a cafe table and chair set. We have put down foam flooring and a carpet for your comfort and provide numerous battery powered lights, lanterns and fans. In cold months we can add a propane heater to keep the chill away. We also have some games, maps of the area, decks of cards, and a fire extinguisher.
Stepping outside the tent you'll find our long rainfly creates a covered porch where you can relax on our provided chairs. There are additional chairs around the firepit and each firepit has a cooking grate so you can cook over your campfire. We provide one bundle of firewood (including kindling) per night with your reservation. We do sell additional firewood, if needed.
In our kitchen area you will find a picnic table and chairs, 5 gallons of drinking water, a clean up table that includes a foot operated pump sink with an additional 5 gallons of washing water, a grill (one site has propane and the other has charcoal), trash and recycling bins, grill tools, lighters, plus dish and hand soaps.
Our farm is a mile and a half from the town of Sharpsburg, MD, home of the Antietam National Battlefield (and Nutter's Ice Cream Shop). You will find the Appalachian Trail to our east and the C&O Canal to our west (10 minute drive to either).

The cabin was womderful. It had everything we needed for our overnight stay, including heat, coffee press, some water, fun games annd books, and a clean outhouse just a few steps away. We enjoyed a campfire by the river, and loved being so close to Shepherdstown ~1.5 miles away. I hope to return in the warmer seasons!

We had an incredible stay during our family trip. We originally booked for two nights but ended up extending another day because we didn’t want to leave. We came as a family of four with two little kids, and this place exceeded all our expectations.
The property is beautiful with incredible views and great amenities, you really don’t need to leave. Our kids especially loved the arcade, the pumpkin carving, and the zip line.
The tiny home was spotless, well kept, and the welcome basket with snacks, wine, and s’mores kit was such a nice touch. We had the pleasure of the owners who were warm and hospitable. Their recommendation to visit the Farmers Daughter shop was spot-on, the burgers, sausages, and steak were fantastic.
Quiet, relaxing, and perfect for families or couples. We’re already planning our next trip. Highly recommend, 5 stars!

We loved camping at Julie’s! When we arrived she help get us to the site (it was dark out already) and showed us around. Every amenity was thought of. There were even cute lights on the cooking tent and on the walk to the other site. We rented both sites for our large group. The property is beautiful and we had the best time!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kale’s Cottage. We found it clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The kitchen has all the basics which allowed us to eat all of our meals in the tiny house. Both sites at Evensong were just wonderful for our 2 families, and Julie was a perfect host. The tents were very comfortable, the sites were very picturesque, and the grounds were perfect (and safe) for letting the kids run around and have adventures. We were particularly impressed with how well-appointed the sites were in terms of things like lanterns, kitchen equipment, and lots of other little details to make the stay more comfortable.

The tents were very comfortable, there was ample space for kids to safely run around and have adventures, and the property was very picturesque. Very picturesque setting near an eclectic town. I went there by myself, no pets are allowed and it was everything I had hoped for. It was the last day of a week long trip and it is worth staying for multiple days.
Views and cabin amenities are numerous and would recommend to future travelers.

Hook's Hideaway is still our favorite weekend getaway. Waking up and drinking coffee with a river front view is amazing whether you're on the covered balcony or inside with the floor to ceiling windows in the living room. Just enough creature comforts inside for her and rustic enough outside around the fire pit for me. Richie and Rae are both great, responsive hosts that always make sure our stay is memorable. Love this place!

So beautiful standing on the waters edge. Cozy, clean cabin. Nicest "outhouse" I've used. Shepardstown nearby is a great little town and so close. Note: Wifi did not work well at all but only really wanted it to look up nearby places. Sadly it was drizzle so I didn't get to sit by the firepit by the river so I guess I'll have to come back. :-)

The host has thought of so many things to make it wonderful between the two different fire pit options, the hot tub, a telescope for star gazing, and snacks/treats for us to enjoy. Camping at Tamara's was relaxing and an overall pleasant experience. Watching the sunrise over the mountains in the morning, warming up by the fire at night, and spending days with the sweet animals was a blessing. Between the arts and crafts (really fun for little ones), learning about historical tools (think Little House on the Prairie), and improving my skills for fire building and cooking over a fire, this was a delightful and educational experience. The location is near hiking trails with great views, and near several ice cream shops (a great treat after a good hike). Tamara is a good host. This is definitely a location that I hope to return to.
