Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm!
Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours.
The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries.

Wolftrap Farm was owned by James & Dolley Madison during their time, and they called it Black Meadow. Their home, Montpelier, is just across the mountains you see from the campsite. It passed through the hands of various local farmers during the 19th & 20th centuries, and for many years was a dairy farm. It became primarily a horse farm in the 1970's, when it was owned by the German Von Wulffen family.The Cuthrell family from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area acquired the farm in 2003 and converted it to a resort farm, featuring upscale vacation homes. V's land was the perfect spot for our quick trip to Shenandoah! His instructions for getting there and what kind of vehicle needed were spot on and he was very communicative whenever I reached out. There was some firewood on site but I am not sure if it was left by last campers or him. We brought our own and used it as it recently rained when we camped. Beautiful fireplace and plenty of room to set up our tent, even though half of the area was a bit muddy from recent rain. It has a beautiful view of the sunrise in the morning and we were fortunate enough to wake up to snow our last morning there! Will definitely come back to this site if I get back to the area!

The yurt at fairy glen is lovely! Though it rained on our stay, we still loved it and felt cozy, especially with the rain sound. The birds were amazing as our alarm clock in the morning. The property is so nice and we got their pretty black cat as our tour guide! We will definitely come back! 😌

We had a great time here and would absolutely come back. The property is spacious with lots of spots to set up, which makes it especially great for a group trip where everyone wants a bit of room to spread out.
If you’re planning to camp by the creek, 4-wheel drive is a must. The terrain is no joke, but totally worth it once you’re settled.
There are large piles of wood for use, just bring an axe or proper saw for firewood, they came in very handy for us to get pieces down to size for our jack stove.
Electric hookups were clutch during our stay. It was overcast the whole time, so our solar panels were basically useless. If your device can’t sit directly on a ledge near the outlet, bring an extension cord. You’ll thank yourself later.
Temps dropped down to 11 degrees, and we were impressed that the pump water didn’t freeze at all and tasted great. Big win for cold-weather camping.
One heads-up on site selection: the spot by the firepit and picnic table is convenient, but it’s close to the road, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for something more tucked away.
There’s no cell service for Verizon down by the creek, so plan accordingly. If you need connectivity, Starlink is the move.
Overall, a solid stay with beautiful surroundings and wildlife, and plenty of flexibility depending on how you like to camp. Just come prepared and you’ll have an awesome experience.

We really enjoyed camping at Cherokee Yurt! It is a very short drive from Luray caverns, so we would definitely visit them if we came back. The stars were beautiful at night. The yurt had more than enough space and items (even a waffle maker!). The only complaint we had was that the heat was not turned on when we came, despite the owner saying it would be, and when we did turn it on it only got up to about 50 degrees and took many hours. Admittedly, it was a very cold night--about 18 degrees--and for a glamping site with relatively poor insulation, that isn't entirely unexpected. But we would highly recommend that you temper your expectations if you stay in the winter and maybe bring a few heated blankets.

Jennifer and her partner were warm, friendly, responsive, and kind. Our honeymoon was made absolutely poetic by waking to a snow covered ground and a gingerly cared for goose egg wrapped in the warm wool of Josie. The map provided was detailed and offered many a good adventure. The eggs we gifted to our new landlord who enjoyed, and we are still sipping the camp roasted coffee with memories of sweetness dancing us to peace in this crazy world. Thank you for showing up and offering your gifts and talents to the world that we might share in such sweet community.

We absolutely loved this property! Beautiful views, very quiet, CLEAN and peaceful there is a gorgeous lake a short walk from camp site 1. Juan has beautiful horses on his property and they are so peaceful to watch. Water and electric hook up worked great, and our class A fit great and site was level. This location is about 1 mile off the main road we easily navigated down the dirt compacted/gravel road no issues. Again extremely quiet, just nature. Just 14 minutes to downtown Culpeper, charming downtown area, lots of shops, and diners. Walmart, Target, Martins, Lidl, and Lowes are just a few more minutes down the road. Can not recommend this camp enough, you will not be disappointed!
