Our farm has many different things to keep you busy whether it is fishing in our small pond or helping out with the family's daily farm chores. This is a working family farm with goats, geese, horses, chickens, lambs, ducks, bees, cows, ducks, quail, rabbits, guinea fowl, cats, and dogs. At any given time we have some kind of fur baby whether it is bunnies, puppies, lambs, kids, or chicks. Learn to take care of baby chicks or milk a cow. You may bea the sweetest honey while one of our farm kids guide and teach you the joys of farm life. Or just relax on a hammock and enjoy the night-time sounds. Solo, couples, or families are welcomed along with pets on a leash. We run a full-time halal pastured-raised farm business. Wake to the sounds of the roosters crowing and eat dinner while enjoying a picturesque view of the farm animals grazing in the pasture behind the home. Cozy up to the woodstove fireplace with a book from over 100+ homesteading/farming books on the bookshelf. Enjoy farm fresh eggs for breakfast, visit and feed the animals ( farm tours available on request). This is an ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit). It is attached to the host's home but has a separate private entrance, separate living space that includes a kitchenette, bathroom, and deck. Very similar to an in-law studio. This is your home away from home! We're thrilled to host you and want to ensure you have a comfortable and memorable stay. This is your sanctuary for rest and relaxation, complete with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. To make your experience as seamless as possible, here's a guide to the spaces you can access during your visit: YOUR PRIVATE SPACE Deck: The deck leads to the entrance of the unit and overlooks the backyard and farm. There is an outdoor table (seating for 4), chairs, and umbrella. Sleeping space: Queen size bed, outfitted with fresh linens, and ample storage for your belongings that includes 2 bedside tables, and a wardrobe closet. Iron and ironing board are included. There is a sofa, and a full size air mattress for additional sleeping space. Living Space: A comfortable sofa, with a small coffee table facing a wardrobe that sits a large flat screen tv. Free Wifi is available. Bookshelf with plenty of homestead/farming reading material. A seasonal wood burning stove. Kitchenette: This kitchenette has a mini refrigerator/freezer, countertop that doubles as an eating space, coffee maker, toaster-oven, 2-burner hot-plate, cutting board, cookware, dishes, utensils, 4 stools, paper towels, hand soap, and a trash basket. You will find coffee, creamer, and sugar to get you started in the morning. Bathroom: A full bathroom that has a shower, toilet, sink, and 4 sets of clean towels are provided. Hair dryer, first-aid kit, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There is also a hand-held bidet at the toilet. Workspace: Large desk with drawers, lamp, chair, and waste basket. SHARED SPACE Backyard: Fire-pit, several grills and picnic tables. A large playground, Ninja obstacle course, trampoline, seesaw, kids picnic table, a hammock, and swinging bench. Small Garden: Directly in back of the home is a small garden space with strawberries and herbs. We ask that you not pick any of the fruits/vegetables without prior consent, but you are welcome to hang out at your leisure. Farm: This is the fenced-in area down the hill which includes the barn and all fenced animal areas. You are welcome to explore the large garden. If you would like to interact with the farm animals or enter an animal enclosure, it must be done in the presence of one of the farm helpers to ensure all gates are properly closed and locked. Full disclosure: Although the farm is peaceful most of the time it is a farm complete with the sound of crowing, quacking, braying, and mooing. Sometimes there are geese honking, a dog barking and goat nays. All of the farm animals include the smell of the farm if the wind is blowing right. All of the farm animals are friendly and non-threatening, but there is one sassy goose to keep an eye out for. Bring boots for visiting the animals, especially in the winter months when the grass is dead and it is rainy. Stay here, milk cows, eat delicious food, be at peace. EVERYTHING was exactly as we could have hoped for - bucolic, private, comfortable, clean, beautiful, perfect location (5 minutes from historic downtown Gordonsville). Apryl is an incredible host, incredible chef (get the maple butter on your pancakes! Order the coconut curry chicken!), and incredible human being. We will, without question, be staying here again and again. Thank you Apryl 🧡🧡

We stayed here during the first week of May and had a wonderful experience. The family who owns the farm was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay. They made us feel very comfortable and were happy to let us wander the farm and interact with the animals, which was a huge highlight for our two young kids. We camped with another family who also had young children, and everyone had a great time. The campsite itself was very enjoyable, and having a composting toilet nearby was definitely a nice convenience. A couple practical things future campers may want to know: The campsite is about a one-minute walk from the parking area, including a small hill, so just be prepared if you plan to store food or gear in your vehicle during your stay. Since you’re camping next to a working farm, expect animal noises during the day and occasionally at night as well. There is also a road somewhere in the distance (maybe about a quarter mile away), and at night when everything else is quiet, you can sometimes hear light traffic noise. Overall, we had a really fun and memorable stay and would absolutely recommend it to other families looking for a unique farm camping experience.

when it comes to camping with kids i try to find places that can entertain them the whole time and this site met the expectations! the farm was so cute and lovely, the kids loved being able to play on the playground and were obsessed with all the animals which were all super friendly (especially the cats). the site feels far away from everything, but a grocery store is less than 10 min away. the hosts and her children were all very friendly and helpful. Apryl was attentive to any of our needs we really enjoyed our stay. i definitely recommend this site for children/ families!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay on the farm. We were trying to book a last minute camping trip. There were no tent sites available but Apryl accommodated our family in another spot on the property, which we felt was actually really awesome ! We loved the farm and camping amongst the animals. It was like nothing we have ever done before. All of the animals are friendly and accustomed to people. The farm cats were the absolute cutest and often followed us around looking to be held and played with. My daughter was able to milk a cow for the first time, and she thought it was so cool. We even got to try the milk right from the cow, such a cool experience ! All of the kids on the farm were very kind and generous. We liked interacting with them and learning their roles on the farm and each of their stories with the farm animals. We learned a lot from the kids. My daughter did not want to leave this place. Hopefully we will get to visit again soon !

We had a wonderful time! Apryl and her family are so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The studio was immaculately clean, had everything you could need during your stay, and the bed was very comfortable. Interacting with all of the animals puts your stay over the top. The cows and horse were so friendly and loved pets! There are endless wineries and breweries nearby with delicious food. We can’t wait until our next visit!

There is a beautiful, peaceful creek running alongside the site. And itis right next to a pond where the ducks and geese love to swim. Wake up to the sound of the rooster crowing. Spending time with the farm animals was so fun. We ordered some of their burger patties and farm fresh eggs, which were delicious! Their son taught me all about bee keeping and gave me a tour of their beautiful garden. I definitely recommend bringing at least one wagon to transport your gear back and forth from the parking area to the tent site.

The site conditions were different than expected. The site is among the farm animals and there was limited gravel/hay to keep the mud at bay. We pre-paid for water and wood , and neither were ready when we arrived. Though the host did bring the water after we reminded them.

I stayed on the farm for 2 nights with my family. Stepping on to this land you could feel the peace and love that this family provides to their animals. My children really enjoyed meeting all of the animals, and I enjoyed learning so much about farm life and how every animal has a purpose. The private room was clean, and the dinner that was provided was delicious!! Would visit again.

We loved staying at Apryl's farm and had a magical experience! My girls loved the kittens and dogs as well as playing with her super sweet kids. The grounds are stunning and being able to help with farm “chores” made it so memorable and engaging. My younger daughter cried the night after we left she missed it so much. We’re already planning our next trip there!

Our daughter loves animals so we booked an evening at Fitrah Farm. Apryl and Mohammed are the most amazing hosts. We got a tour of their farm with huge variety of animals many of which roam freely around the farm. From goats, cows, chickens, geese, guinea fowl, quail, and two of the most giant and sweet livestock guard dogs you could ever meet! Their whole family works on the farm and it was great for my kids to see kids their age doing amazing animal husbandry. They will even let you help with the chores and milk the cows. My daughter already wants to go back for her birthday next year. It’s around 5 minutes from downtown Gordonsville so you have access to all the shops and restaurants there, but you would never know it. I cannot recommend this spot enough for folks that want a camping experience with kids. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore and easy access to campsites. I cannot recommend this place enough to folks who want an easy access camping experience with an amazing family and animals!!!!

I absolutely loved camping here! It was incredibly peaceful to stay among the animals, and we lucked out with beautiful weather. The site is thoughtfully set up with everything you could need: chairs, stumps for seating, a hammock, and a very functional bathroom tent. I highly recommend adding on a meal, we had breakfast, and it was not only delicious but also a full-circle moment to experience the sustainability of the farm firsthand. Would absolutely stay here again!

We loved this little area. Was pretty easy to navigate and the entire family seemed to be so nice and helpful with anything we needed. I’d definitely recommend going the farm breakfast for just a small extra as it’s phenomenal and will keep you filled half the day! The animals are so docile I have never met such nice chickens and other farm animals.

Had a fantastic time sharing our campsite with friends. Our 2 year olds were all about the animals, and especially loved the lamb that was born overnight on night one of our stay. Some of the animals wandered around our site--a couple if chickens, geese, and a goat--but they were very friendly. The campsite is very private. You walk past the house, about 100 yards down a hill and past the farmyard, and you're tucked off to the side of the property. We also added on milking the cow as one of the extra options, and we loved it. All in all, a great experience, and a good change from the typical state park camping we usually do.

This small farmette was a joy to stay at for the weekend! We had so many wonderful interactions with the generous family that runs the farm! We hardly saw our children because they played so much with the other children and outdoor activities!

Very nice host. We did take the offer for breakfast and eggs and everything was perfect. We arrived after a lot of rain which made the ground a little muddy but not too bad. Cows, chicken, goats and roasters greeted us in the morning.

Apryl provided clear instructions on navigating to the site. The walk down to the site was fun because we got to see the cows and goats on the way. There was a fire pit and several chairs already set up, so we didn’t need to bring any of our own. The farm was fun to explore and we learned how to milk a cow!
