The Farm was originally named 2nd 4o by my parents. They planned to live the 2nd forty years of their lives together on the farm. My parents both grew up on the southside of Chicago - where having a tree in your yard meant that you had "made it". They decided to use the land to grow Christmas trees. This did not last long :) but the saplings my dad planted by hand are still here & maybe 70' tall!
Then my husband & I bought The Farm in 2017 for the 2nd forty years of our life & my parents built their little house right here. My husband and I immediately knew that our dream was to grow a different kind of "tree", so in 2019 we were among the first group to receive our license to grow hemp. We are passionate about both the hemp and cannabis plants!
In 2020 when it finally became legal to grow cannabis, we immediately added that to our garden as well and 2nd 40 to 420 was born, or shall I say planted. We currently rent out our 2 RV's 3 Yurts & primitive sites , we also offer group bookings & Canna-friendly B&B options.

Wolftrap Farm was owned by James & Dolley Madison during their time, and they called it Black Meadow. Their home, Montpelier, is just across the mountains you see from the campsite. It passed through the hands of various local farmers during the 19th & 20th centuries, and for many years was a dairy farm. It became primarily a horse farm in the 1970's, when it was owned by the German Von Wulffen family.The Cuthrell family from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area acquired the farm in 2003 and converted it to a resort farm, featuring upscale vacation homes. Beginning around 2013, the farm started morphing into primarily a wedding venue, and now hosts over 60 weddings each year.

This was an awesome stay for my husband and I! The bed was so comfortable and the “shouthouse” was clean and well kept. The tent was comfy and cozy. Perfect get away for two! Woke up to deer in the pasture and a beautiful sunrise. Jasmina was quick to respond and gave many great recommendations. The Red Rooster was our favorite with the firecracker syrup a must try! The Buffalo Mountain Preserve is a great hike. We went on a Wednesday around 8:30-9am and had the views all to ourselves. Great stay and great hosts!

I loved this place! Glamping at it's best! I had total privacy, gorgeous views of the mountains, tons of farm animals to pet, and scenes of deer, owls, and other wildlife. It was easy to find and I slept like a baby. The tents are large enough for 2 and thick enough to protect from a light rain. There's a swimming hole, a fire pit, hot water showers, huge bathrooms, kitchen with fridge, drip coffee pot, and microwave. Ample parking and lots of land, around 600 acres.

Scott and Jasmin’s pay immaculate attention to the details of what makes a comfortable stay. The beds were cloudy, the space clean and stocked with water and snacks🤗 and the outdoor shower and outhouse were beautifully designed and squeaky clean. The well maintained trails of this “wildlife habitat” were fun to walk through, especially the rhododendron forest, or “mountain mangroves” as Scott called them. I appreciate the regenerative vision of this property. Beautiful land and people, 10/10!

Great place to get away. Host met us upon arrival and was kind enough to give us fresh eggs and tomatoes. Definitely print directions in advance because phone signal is hit or miss. However, there is wi-fi at the site which is nice. Highly recommended. Don't forget the bug spray!

Weekend Trip to Floyd Glamping @ Bluebird Sanctuary
Scott and Jasmina were such incredible hosts. We had rented out three sites on the property for my family, myself and my partner, but unfortunately had to shift plans and cancel two sites because of an emergency that my family had to take care of. When I told Scott and Jasmina, they offered my partner and I a more comfortable accommodation at the Sunset tent for two nights (which we were SO grateful for).
I can’t emphasize enough how accommodating, kind, and caring they were during our stay. They helped us navigate any questions we had during - we ended up having some VERY wet and humid nights that led to some condensation, but Scott and Jasmina were happy to help us and made sure we were still comfortable. They also provided us with some snacks, water, dishes, towels, and a fan inside the tent!
The property itself is unbelievably beautiful! We arrived after dark but it was easy to navigate, and they had left extra lights for us. The bathroom itself was pristine and we had no issue using the composting toilet. The outdoor shower was amazing to use during the heat of the day. The bed inside the tent is SO comfortable, and everything felt very clean and well maintained.
Overall, our stay was incredible. Floyd is really only 10 minutes from the site, and I would recommend checking out Grayson Highlands park from here as it’s just an hour and a half away. Thank you so much Scott and Jasmina!!

We absolutely loved this stay. John and Suzanne are so incredibly kind and inviting. We noticed a small problem with our tent when we first arrived, and before we could put all of our things down, John had already fixed it. Everything we needed was provided and even goods we didn’t know we needed- including a homegrown breakfast of eggs and tomatoes. We received great directions and recommendations that were incredibly helpful. We would absolutely come back again.

Genuinely beautiful stay between nice views and a well appointed and clean tent. All facilities were easy to find (even with our after-dark arrival) and access and were quite clean. The only downside was a slightly intrusive barn cat that kept following me around and begging at tent door.
That said, we would definitely come back to stay again and for longer! Thank you to the hosts.
