PLEASE READ Beginning November 1, we will be in our off season. Camping is still available, however our running water facilities including kitchen and shower will not be active. Spring water is still available from a source on property, but you must haul it yourself. We have parking available in a plowed area, but in the event of snow we cannot guarantee car access to your site. Our property borders Vermont's Long Trail, less than 1/2 mile from the gorgeous vista of Prospect Rock. The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is nearby for bicycle or foot travel, and the Lamoille river is easily accessed for fishing, tubing, kayaking etc. We feature a full-size professionally built Disc Golf course, Elevation Chains, on property. Beautiful views of river and mountains and a secluded yet very accessible location make this an ideal property for camping.  Our campground features a fully functioning outdoor kitchen available to all campers.  Propane stove, running water and cutlery are provided to make food planning and prep easier.  It also features a large firepit and serves as a great center for community gatherings.  Outdoor shower (room temp only) and composting toilets also available.  Biodegradable soaps and hygiene products only please! The frogs will thank you.  Ask us about canoe and paddleboard rental! About us: At Hogback Homestead we strive to be positive stewards to our land.  We actively farm and forage, and appreciate it when our guests take interest as well.  We graze sheep, pigs and sometimes other ruminants, keep gardens and perennials, and manage our lands with the most ecological practices available to us.  We believe that a strong and thriving community is foundational to a healthy, happy life and welcome all to come visit! Ask about long term camping and internship programs as well. Arriving on site: Don't follow your GPS, as it may send you to an inaccurate location. Instead, put our address (contact us if you're unable to find it on this site) in, locate our road, and then look for the street number on our mailbox on the left as you drive uphill. Once onsite, follow the drive straight until you reach the camping area and follow signage to your site. If you have questions or need assistance we live in the cabin with the blue roof and can usually be found around there.

Conserved by the South Hero Land Trust, the historic Sawyer Bay Farm on the Island of South Hero was converted to grazing beef cattle. Our farm name is Health Hero Farm. We practice intensive planned grazing, moving the cattle daily to fresh grass. The herd may be near the campsites or completely out of sight, somewhere on our 180 acres. While we were building a house, we camped in the equipment shed during the summer and grew to value its convenience. Joan's enjoyment of cycling inspired her to designate the farm stand as a "bike stop" where visitors could buy a snack, get water, fix their bikes and use the unique islands amenity of a composing toilet in a converted ice fishing shack. South Hero is an agricultural island, as well as a summer tourist destination with numerous outdoor activities. It is also only a half-hour away from Burlington, and the drive is pleasurable. Pitch your tent, stow your gear under cover and explore all the islands have to offer. Yes, this is a summer destination, with great cycling, boating and swimming. We are a grass-fed beef operation, Health Hero Farm, on the island of South Hero. (You can read more about us on our farm website. ) Our farm is on the bike route around the islands, with access to many other vacation activities. Pitch your tent in the farmstead or in half of our empty equipment shed 30' x 60'. Or tool on down the farm road and be alone with the cattle and grass. In the shed, which is open on the north side, you have shelter from the rain, sun and wind. We have two campsites that can share a microwave, hot plate, refrigerator, camp sink and coffee maker in the barn. Lots of storage under roof for bikes and luggage. Our composting toilet (from Natures Head Composting Toilet) is a unique amenity -- installed in a retired ice-fishing shack (on skis). During the busy summer months, we may have a port-o-let (a.k.a. port-a-potty) with professional service. In the winter, the equipment shed not available. We rent out vehicle and boat storage in the equipment shed and cannot accommodate camping there. However, we have ample parking for RVs at any time of the year. And if you are an experienced snow camper, we have several locations to choose from. We have a farm stand where you can buy a few snacks. If you want to try our beef, we'll be happy to show you our freezers. We are 2 miles from a convenience store that packs an amazing array of products into a small space. We are close to a gem of a public beach, a winery (Snow Farm Vineyard), apple orchards, a public school playground, and miles of scenic driving. Local farmers markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays offer some of the best produce from these agricultural islands. We also own 1000' frontage on Lake Champlain, which you may enjoy. It is difficult to access, but affords privacy and serenity. We allow campfires on the gravel areas of the farm and on the beach, where you can gather dead wood. If you want to host a large group, you will need to reserve both campsites and rent a port-o-let (Vermont's lingo for porta-potty) if we don't already have one. Additional fees might apply. There is no RV electrical hookup; however, the equipment shed has electric outlets for your use. Additional fees apply for energy intensive appliances, such as heaters or air conditioners. There is no water hookup; however, we can fill your tanks with a hose from a potable water supply. Generators are not allowed, unless you are sufficiently distanced from other campers and our neighbors. Other accommodations may be available. Just ask! We have many resources, and want you to have a great visit.

Four Springs Farm, Campground & Learning Center

Four Springs Farm is a working organic farm on a beautiful west-facing hillside in central Vermont. Walk-in tent camping sites are tucked away in private corners of the farm a reasonable distance from the parking areas. The centrally located Wash Houses have toilets and hot showers. A picnic pavilion, which has a spectacular view of the valley and the hills of the Green Mtns, is available for group gatherings and celebrations and has a sink area for guests to use. Visitors are invited to tag-along-on-chores and meet the poultry sharing the farm with all of us and explore the seventy acres of paths, fields, streams, and woods. Guests will be dazzled by star-studded skies, treated to spectacular sunsets, and entertained by the farm cat Luna. The farm is mosquito free but inhabited by millions of fireflies. It's nature's playground at her best. Our season opens the last weekend in April and closes around the end of October. Wildflower Tent Site is a mowed area in one corner of a hillside field. Hammock campers would have a woods location for their use. It is located near the Wash Houses with it's own back door path, Watercress Crossing, over a small stream. There are no lights on the farm and this open spot is perfect for star gazing. There is a 10 x 12 foot tent platform, picnic table and fire pit. Morning Sunrise is the largest site and can hold ten tents easily on a relatively level grass area. It is protected from the heat of a late summer day and open to accept the first sunshine hitting the farm in the morning. Groups of multiple families, friends celebrating a special occasion, cycling groups and scouting organizations as well as individuals use this site to be slightly set apart from the heart of the farm activities. There is a picnic table and a firepit with space around it for a gang. Hidden Meadow is the most isolated and smallest tent site accessed by it's own bridge and unseen from most of the farm. Though not in the woods it feels tucked away and is ideal for couples or singles as it has room for only one tent ( on a 10 x 12 foot platform) and has a picnic table and fire pit. Maximum guests- three. Plum Corner as indicated by it's name is accessed along a path through the plum orchard. It is tucked up next to an old barn site with a stately old yellow birch defining the corner. It is ideal for families because of it's spaciousness and multiple tent options. There is one tent platform - 10 x 12 feet, a picnic table and fire pit.

So that means Sunday's are not available or evening's. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well! Enjoy a cup of coffee from the Keurig machine in the mornings. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. So with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. Don't set an alarm, the loons or geese may wake you first!  Listen to the birds and relax!  And if luck is with you, you might spot a bald eagle!   Want to play with goats? Hiking trails are nearby including Groton State Forest, hiking near Willoughby Lake is only about 45 minutes away and is worth the trip! This is the private campsite we developed on our farm several years ago for when my wife and I need a little getaway, but don't have the time to travel. Shaded Brookside Glen is a level, mowed lawn surrounded by mature trees and bushes. Dry camping only, but a nice composting outhouse is easily available nearby. Water is available from the year round trout stream, but drinking water must be carried in. Shaded Brookside Glen has a picnic table, a metal fire pit, and limited fire wood is supplied. The drive to the site is across a grassy, mowed, well drained field, but can be effected by long periods of rain.

Harold’s View stands out as a destination camp spot in rural Vermont for its breathtaking vistas and comfortable offerings. For starters, the tent was very roomy, nicely appointed and remained dry for the duration of our time there. We were able to set up our dogs’ crate by the opening and still had enough room to get in & out easily. Memory foam thick mattress was comfy, while warm blanket & extra comforter kept the chill from the 40* night air at bay. Water for washing up & shower was piping hot! Porta was a short walk up the gravel road away from the campsite. Little extras, such as all-in-one soap/shampoo, towels, tissues, wipes, etc were appreciated. Things to know: stay on the gravel road as you drive to the site & park, especially if it’s been raining. A small run off to the right is deceptively deep & feeds into the pond. Also, if you’re traveling with dogs, best to let the hosts know in advance.

I had an awesome stay on Cheryle's property! I had booked a tent site but because of the rainy weather stayed in the Whitetail cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable. There was firewood provided and the pavilion was a huge bonus as a place to prepare meals and coffee. The camp in general is quiet, beautiful and relaxing. Ill be back for sure. Thank you!

We stayed two nights for a music festival near by. It was amazing..we have two dogs and our aussie and border collie were in heaven. The farm is just awesome with trails through the woods, orchards and open fields. Had our own fire pit outside our rustic comfy cabin. It poured rain for some of the trip and we were dry and had the best nap ever with the rain on the tin roof! We loved it and it would be great for a group needing central pavilion to hang out in as well.

Well received and taking care of. Located in a quiet street, far from city vibe. Main house is the hub for bathroom, you can use the amazing community kitchen for a reasonable fee. This farm is an hidden gem if you want to disconnect from the life of the city and see was really is a homestead. Can ride MTB trails, from the site directly. We slept in the bluebus, with minimalist equipment and a wood stove. That was super relaxing, surrounded by the woods. Highly Recommended

We stayed at the family room and it was very comfortable with grade mattresses and even shades to block out the light, which we appreciated. The library had a fantastic collection and we love spending a rainy day there. Ann Was super helpful and very kind and patient and showing us around and even allowing us to help a little bit on the farm. The kids loved it. Stephanie a great and welcoming space for anyone who loves Community. There was a lot going on, although it was only end of April and still early in the season.

The wood fired sauna was an absolute highlite of our trip and she had it ready for us when we arrived. She also provided a few options for things to do in the town which enhanced our experience. I will definitely be coming back to Sandy's in the future, and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a weekend get away.

Texas Hill Brook camp site The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own. Dark Star Cabin Dark Star is the perfect base camp for your northern Vermont hiking and biking adventures! Comfortable accommodations for 6 in a solar powered cabin. Located in Huntington close to some of Vermont’s best trails, Dark Star is a short hike (less than a mile) from a private, secure parking area. The hike is not difficult, but ground is uneven, some of it is uphill, and it may be wet. Note that this property is HIKE-IN ONLY and pack in/pack out (i.e. you will need to pack out all trash, etc.). Unwind in the wood-fired sauna, lounge on the deck under the stars, sharing stories of your escapades and planning the next day’s adventures. MAPLE SYRUP/SUGARBUSH Want to learn about the maple sugaring process? We are always happy to give you a tour of our sugarhouse and the woods, and explain how we turn the tree sap into yummy Maple Syrup. (We only boil January-early April.) We operate a small working farm on our 50 acre property. Approximately 7 acres is cleared fields where we grow hemp, pigs and chickens. We are at the end of a dirt road with private access and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. If you decide to stay with us we can guarantee you your own private tent site to get away from it all, or a beautiful spot to park your van, car or small camper, all while still being only 10 minutes to the amenities of town, 15 minutes to world famous mountain biking at Kingdom Trails, or 20 minutes to breathtaking Lake Willoughby. Learn more about this land: We have two private tent platforms located in a mature mixed hardwood forest on our 50 acre property, as well as one van/small camper/car camping site located on the edge of our field. Each tent platform site includes an elevated and level 10'x12' cedar tent platform, a picnic table, and more privacy than the car camping site. Parking is less than a 1 minute walk from the platforms down a well maintained woods road and gorilla carts are available to help haul your gear. Many guests who wish to stay right next to their cars choose to car camp on the edge of the field in the car camping site, either pitching a tent or spending the night in their small camper. The views from this site are breathtaking, but it has less privacy as it is located next to the communal firepit, and amidst our working farm so we will occasionally be around doing chores, (the chickens and pigs are early risers). The communal fire pit has a great view and a few chairs are provided. Seasoned firewood is available for purchase, and we ask that you please do not harvest or burn your own wood off the property. Potable drinking water and a portable toilet are also available onsite for our guests. Well behaved pets are welcome, but must remain on a leash to ensure they do not disturb our plants or farm animals. We are at the dead end of a gravel road and can guarantee complete privacy and seclusion if you are looking to get away from it all, yet still be located conveniently within 10 minutes of Lyndonville, 15 minutes to Kingdom Trails and East Burke, 20 minutes to Lake Willoughby, and at the doorstep to the beautiful wilderness of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom!

Camp Ebb and Flow is located on the western edge of the White Mountains, near the crossing of the Appalachian Trail and a short drive to VT. Three lakes nearby for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Hiking trails nearby. The camp offers RV sites with water, electricity, and sewer, an RV site with no hookups, and several tent sites. One of the tent sites has water and electricity and another has electricity with nearby water. There is bathhouse with two toilets and two vanities as well as a shower with changing room. Potable water is also available from a spigot at the bathhouse. There are over six acres of mowed fields for activities and walking. There is also a lovely brook running through the property with many areas you can cool off in from the summer heat. This property has a lengthy history going back to colonial times. It’s been a farm, an apple orchard, and once had a sawmill. Please check the calendar for available dates. Check-in is no later than 9pm unless late arrival arrangements have been made prior to booking. Whenever possible, try to arrive before dark because there are no lights at most sites, which can make setup difficult. A note regarding electric vehicles (EV): If you have an electric vehicle and would like to tent camp, please select one of our full hookup RV sites. If you have the proper electric adapter for your vehicle, you can charge your vehicle at the 30A RV plug while tenting in the field near the RV site. We do not supply these adapters, and we cannot allow you to charge your vehicle unless you have reserved an RV site with full hookups. Come stay on our quiet and scenic farm. Easily accessible from Rt 89 and Rt 4. Our Pick Your Own Blueberry fields open in July. Clay Hill Corners is a 10 acre working Blueberry Farm. We have PYO Blueberries and a farm stand open from mid July to August. We sell organically grown blueberries and produce locally. Learn more about this land: Our private Sugar Shack is at the end of our blueberry fields and faces the forest. The Sugar Shack sleeps two in a comfy double bed with clean sheets and a fleece blanket. I wash the linens and blanket in hot water for each and every booking. Please bring your own extra blankets or sleeping bag if the weather is cold. An additional clean quilt with duvet cover can be added for a $ 10 per booking fee. There is a small porch, a charcoal grill, four chairs, a hammock, a fire ring, fire wood, clean potable cold water, a solar shower, and an outhouse. We provide the firewood for the fire ring and we provide charcoal and lighter fluid for the charcoal grill. There is space available next to Sugar Shack in the field for additional tents or small RVs. (There is no electricity.) The upcharge for additional campers after the first two people is $5 per person per night. Hiking trails through field and forest start at your door. We have a 3 mile round trip hike to Harlow Brook with a map. We are on the edge of a wildlife corridor and often see deer, coyotes, fox, waterfowl, songbirds and the occasional bear. (Keep food in your car at night so that the bear does not eat it!) We are above the Ottauquechee River at North Hartland Lake. We have rentable canoes and a kayak. We can transport you to and pick you up for a canoe trip on the Connecticut River or to North Hartland Lake.. We are located two miles from Quechee, 7 miles from historic Woodstock to the west, and 7 miles to hip White River Junction to the east and 8 1/2 miles to Dartmouth College and the Appalachian Trail. There are fun casual restaurants with some sit down and take-out nearby and our local Jakes Market can provide you with a nice selection of groceries. Hot Air Balloon pilots often take off and land in our fields and it is always a magical site. We can connect you with local pilots if you wish to purchase a Balloon Adventure.
