However it is currently a bit of a construction site, so pardon the appearance. Also, it should be noted that there is currently no Wi-Fi or cell service. Please be aware that Vermont prohibits out-of-state Firewood. In the future we hope to have firewood for sale, until then firewood can be purchased locally. There is also plenty of dead wood on our property to scavenge.

Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. Bears are rarely seen but it is wild country. Sites have locking garbage lids. Unique and lovely as well as being next to trails and roads to miles of remote spots with very few if any ... people. In Winter we request only AWD vehicles go down to this site or park up by farmhouse and hike in so you can easily get out. When wet park up by the road if you have 2 wheel drive. Sweet Song Acres is 100+ acres of secluded forest nestled along the Little Sugar River, at the base of Perry Mountain. Located in rural Unity, NH and Charlestown, NH, just across the Vermont state line. Southernmost point, located in Charlestown is one of two campsites. The other is Shady Grove, located in Unity. The two sites, located in bordering towns share the same entrance and are connected by a 1/4 mile trail. Both are very large sites. Campers would drive to both sites down a trail so we highly recommend a vehicle with decent clearance and 4WD or AWD. Southernmost Point is a fully drive-in site. Shady Grove campers park above the site and the campsite is down a short path, just a few hundred feet or so. The property consists of varied terrain of rock ledges, lush moss, streams, and panoramic views at the summit. There are many options of local outdoor activities in the area or if you prefer, just sit and "listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock your soul".

Weekend Trip to Timbertrail Farm

We had a wonderful time. The view was spectacular. The accommodation suited our needs. Having to outdoor compost potty with a scenic view was a plus for outdoors camping. We had heavy rain, but we were prepared. Mike had that wonderful pizza oven that we took full advantage of making so delicious pizza. We plan on returning to repeat our adventure.

Babbling brook, campfire, smell of pines, almost no light pollution at night, really hard to beat. It is on a road, but like 12 people live past this area so not many cars. The local atv club will roll by about 9 AM but that's about it.

The campsite was huge and the host was awesome. The property had so much space to explore and the 1 mile hike to the viewpoint did not disappoint! Great spot to see some late season foliage and we even got a chance to see the aurora borealis too. The no burn notice across the state of NH was a bummer but the host offered a portable propane fire pit instead which was amazing! Overall a great experience

Tip-top spot with breathtaking views in a great location, 45 minutes from Burlington and 45m-1.5h from the interior (Waterbury, Killington, Woodstock, Montpelier, Stowe), right in the heart of the Green Mountains. Melinda and Dave were very responsive to our messages and just great hosts. They maintain a beautiful, flat site with a lot of privacy, a stocked and cleaned outhouse, and complementary firewood. What’s not to love? This was our first trip with our rig up to Vermont and it’s definitely gonna be part of a regular rotation. Many thanks to these great people for letting us stay at their property! This is what HipCamp is all about.

Weekend Trip to Transparent Sands, Diamond Point

Just as described- a lovely spot to stay. The port-a-potty was pleasant, the sink with a hose made it easy to keep everything clean and everyone hydrated, and the fire pit and picnic table were fun additions to our afternoons and evenings. jThe spot felt special because of the river's morning fog and evening beaver. I'd recommend staying here and I'd stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Sweet Song Acres

Second time staying at Sweet Song Acres, this time we camped at the Southern Most Point and loved it! Great communication from Tina, gorgeous private scenery, and a wonderful outhouse. There was even a little bit of water in the river adjacent to the site. Camped in October during the state-wide fire ban and it got down to 40° overnight but we had a propane heater in our Go Fast Camper than kept us warm. Pups loved being able to explore and we loved the trail up to the top of Perry Mountain- took us about 20mins going a slow pace while carrying a 16month old in a baby carrier too. Highly recommend this campsite, can't wait to return!

We loved our stay at Caitrin and Hardy's Trailhouse campground. It had everything you needed, and nothing you didn't! It was an ideal hub to explore Slate Valley Trails and return home to relax and unwind. Small touches, relaxed and welcoming vibe, beautiful setting and fun trails all contribute to a perfect stay.
