Weekend Trip to Indian Blanket Ranch - Utopia Texas

This is an amazing find and a great weekend getaway! It was my favorite HipCamp find so far. The cabin is very secluded and quiet. The nature trails are beautiful and very well maintained. Leann was very responsive to messages and a great host. There is a gate around the cabin to keep your fur babies close. We had clear skies and enjoyed star gazing in the hot tub. I can’t wait to return!

My buddy and I decided to test out our new calling set ups at LAF. It was a decent drive but worth it. The owner is very nice and informative. The description was accurate, you cannot beat the views from the ridge. We spent time checking out each campsite, each offer a cool and unique experience. Best part besides the views, no cell service. Unplug from everyday life and enjoy nature.

We had a great weekend at Rio Frio RV! Carlos was an amazing host and the best camp host I've ever experienced. Super friendly and accommodating, Carlos moved a picnic table to our site for us to use and even offered an extra extension cord if we needed it. The property is vast and relatively quiet with has loads of wildlife! We had deer, rabbits, squirrels and more.... a birder's delight - hummingbirds, cardinals, doves, chickadees, woodpeckers, black-crested titmouse, and even a hawk with a nest above our site. Having direct river access for fishing or floating, and being literally 5 minutes from Garner SP were huge draws for us and offered the perfect reprieve from the crowds at Garner. Will definitely be back, especially with the plans Carlos has to make the site even better than it already is.

This cabin is perfect, tucked among tall trees, completely peaceful, and beautifully secluded. It’s the perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature, and feel truly away from it all. Can’t wait to come back!

I had a great relaxing time. There was access to the Frio River. I arrived early enough to enjoy the river. It’s some of the clearest water I’ve ever seen. Beautiful nature views. I saw one deer across the river. This is one of those places that you return year after year. That’s my plan anyway. The host had a nice friendly attitude and was very helpful. I would absolutely recommend this place.

We loved staying at Frit's Ranch! We thought his land was beautiful and even getting to it the scenery was amazing. If you want a place thats quiet and secluded then don't think twice about reserving a spot here! Very beautiful and well kept.

We enjoyed our stay at Laf Ranch and plan to try out another one of the spots on the ranch next time we visit. Ladder Swimming Hole is great for kids and we appreciated being able to walk the property.

The beauty of this hill country land is amazing. Quiet and peaceful. My family and I enjoyed the clear water of the swimming hole, it was cool but perfect when the sun was over us. Wilson is very nice, helpful and fun guy! He was a great guide showing us all around the property and giving us options as to our campsite. There’s plenty of space for small or large groups. We got the opportunity to enjoy the less rough off-road trails and saw some beautiful views. If you’re lucky enough like we were, you’ll get to enjoy all the adventures this property has to offer.

Wow, what a cool campsite! My 11yo son loved the teepee in the site and playing in the river pools just below. Sleeping was easy with the sounds of live water. Bring your Hammocks as there are several trees, some already with tied ropes, to stretch out in. The entire ranch was a treat to visit. We will be back!

I really enjoyed my time camping out on the ranch. This is a very unique opportunity that is not often found in the Texas Hill Country and very fortunate to have found this spot and thankful to Fritz for opening up his property to share the experience with others. Stayed at the pond camp site and it was very secluded and relaxing alongside a beautiful clear creek. Would highly recommend!

About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING Free firewood for use during your stay and can make a good deal if you want to take some home! As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Camp Cold Springs is a newly renovated RV park situated on 14 acres along the Frio river with approximately 450 feet of Frio river frontage. Located 2 miles north of Garner State Park at 1101 Cold Spring Ranch Rd Concan, TX, we offer 50 full hookup RV sites with 30 and 50-amp connections available at every site. We have pull-through and back-in sites that either live in the shade or soak up the sun. There are two private river access points on the property for guests that lead you down to the cool, refreshing, gorgeous Frio River. Alongside the river, you will notice our spring-fed pond where many of our junior campers enjoy fishing. The river frontage at Camp Cold Springs is perfect for all ages with easy access walking down to the river.
