This RV spot offers the perfect blend of proximity to Austin's vibrant attractions, nature and the comfort of a cozy neighborhood setting. Situated on the side of my house, the site is 95' long. 38' of which is along my house. The width between the house and fence is 18 feet. This should fit any RV with 2 slides and awning being open. The entire lot is fenced in, granting guests(and pets) full use of the pool and yard. Enjoy privacy with no neighbors in the back and an 8' side fence where your RV will be parked. The lot is a city sized lot, less than 1/5 acre, but HipCamp won't let me put in less than 1 acre. Pictures show my white/red retro RV as well as other RV's and how they have fit with and without my RV. Backing in is best for trailers - motorhomes/vans can go forward or back in. You may find maneuvering backwards a bit challenging due to the angle from the street through the front gate and my house overhang. It can be done...it just may take a village! :o) There's plenty of room to tandem park a towed vehicle in front of your RV(fenced in too!), and both 50amp and 30amp electric hookups are located on the back side of my house near the water hookup. (NOTE: Hipcamp will not let me notate in the fields that I have a 50amp AND a 30amp, thus I have 2 sites listed. I have had 2 RV guests stay at same time, but will not book that unless I get the ok from all parties.) LIVE sewer hookup isn't available because my clean-out is in the front of the house. Dumping can be done on the way in/out or with a portable tank.. Nestled in a charming, gentrifying neighborhood, expect the pleasant hum of city sounds (not overly loud) and glimpses of starlit skies. During your stay, I'll be residing in the house with my sociable dog, Toby. We'll be respectful of your privacy but available for any assistance you may need. Toby loves company, including other dogs, and has even been around cats with proper introductions. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to arrange a booking! HOT TUB IS BACK! There are 2 LONG RV spots up to 45 feet in length BUT, they are back in only and the turn around area is tight if you have a BIG RIG. The 2 camper van sites are (Site 1) 32' and (Site 2) 22'. McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We offer a self-serve farm stand for our customers with fresh eggs, jelly and even pasture raised chicken - all produced on the farm. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! There is road noise. Highway 29 can be busy at times, despite being a two-lane road. Quiet hours are after 10 pm Sunday - Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee. This secluded hike-to (~ 1-2 minute walk) site is peaceful with limestone cliff views and no visible homes or signs of civilization. The trail head is accessed by a dirt road that winds around our corn field and into the woods, and can be accessed by any vehicle in normal weather conditions. We will provide warning/refunds if the river road becomes 4x4 only. Fishing is allowed with a valid Texas fishing license. There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please (day or night!).

Weekend Trip to Happy Horse Camp & RV Getaway

This place was super cute and the hosts Hollis & Beaux were so accommodating and delightful! Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse and we had a 15mo old with us, and they kept us updated through the night of the upcoming weather issues of a freeze incoming and refunded us since it would be too cold to stay in a tent overnight. We will definitely be back again in warmer weather!

This is a great property right on the Colorado River. We stayed at the RV site which was spacious, wooded with a steel fire pit. The host Bridget was there to meet all our needs and was very accommodating! And, for a primitive site, they have a great bathroom and shower with hot running water!

Lovely campground! This was my first time camping and first time bikepacking. The area was beautiful and serene. There are some dogs that bark in the distance at night, but its not too bothersome. I like dogs. Husband and I would definitely come back!

Stunning spot on the Colorado River. We had the place to ourselves aside from a family who rented the Airbnb home on the property. Played bocce ball, walked the property for at least 2 hours, admired the trees. Would absolutely go back.

The property was phenomenal and Bridget was an amazing host. It was extremely clean, private, quiet, and great for our family. Iv been to a lot of campsites and this has to be one of our favorite tent camp locations. I would highly recommend this location to anyone.

Weekend Trip to P² Farm | Scenic River Camping

This has been one of my favorite HipCamps I've ever stayed at. The host provided many things at the site that were very thoughtful, such as a hammer for tent stakes, and a small grill in addition to a portable firepit. I went with a friend, and we had a girl's campout with our 9 year old daughters, and everybody had a great time! Would highly recommend the Mother Tree site, which even with no leaves on the tree in the winter months that I visited, is an incredibly awe-inspiring site of a 700+ year old pecan tree. The tent area was flat, and the river was incredibly soothing to listen to at night. If you're thinking of booking it, go for it! I'll definitely go again.

John was amazing! Me and my fiancé went camping a few days ago. He was incredibly nice and made it perfect for us. He had plenty of firewood, and is land and location is beautiful. This is a place that we will definitely be returning to, and you should definitely take a few days off and visit.

Large space with normal toilet. We stayed on the ranch side, which was closer to Makayla's house. There is also a river side which is more secluded. We utilized the fire pit, the bathroom, and some of the table space made available to us. The property was easy to find, and Makayla was reachable through phone calls. We did small daytrip into town, which was very close to the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend to others.

Slip on in...enjoy Austin...come to your home away from home! There's no "real" grass on the property. However, the gates in the back can be unlocked to enjoy a long and wide green space. Very large park and the river is less than a mile.

I love this park! Sadly, a couple of years ago fires destroyed a lot of the beautiful trees in the surrounding area, but that didn’t diminish the lovely sights on the trails. The bathrooms were renovated last summer and are now super glamorous! 👌🏼 Tile, A/C, flushing toilets....it’s a welcomed reprieve from the oppressive summer heat and humidity!

Bastrop Campground

The description should be updated to include the fact that the Memorial Day 2015 flood broke the dam and the lake is no more. It's a pretty depressing sight. I loved camping in Bastrop as a kid. It's such a different experience now with nearly no forest and no lake. Deer Run is the best campground in my opinion. Sites 27-30 have no trees at all and a lovely view of RVs, but 27 and 28 are handicap accessible and RIGHT next to the playground (and bathrooms). If you are camping with young children who need supervision, these are great spots since you can sit at camp while they play. Otherwise, aim for sites 32-34 or 37-42 for trees and a more natural view. But you can hear the highway everywhere.

Smaller park but great campgrounds. The sites are a little close to one another without much privacy in between. If you are looking for a more private setting check out Bastrop's neighbor, Buescher State Park.
