Pastures are mowed three times a year and always look beautiful. There is some terrain that is rough and the land has not been traveled. Bring machetes and a compass (We are not a rescue team). The land is ready to be loved by our visitors. The llamas will come to greet you and so will many more things in this wonderful place. We have expanded our rabbitry soon to include Rex and Harlequin breeds as well. The drought of 2022 and 2023 caused us to have to cut fencing which we are still working to repair in order to bring back our heritage hogs. Turkeys are raised only when pre-paid by customers. We are currently working to get bees again for local harvested honey in Houston County, Texas. All my poultry and livestock are free ranged and live on pasture supplemented with non-GMO feeds using no antibiotics or hormones. My goal is growing all the livestock in an environment outside where they can live normal lives eating bugs and grass, enjoying the sun and rain and through holistic management creating more sustainable pastureland for the future. Our main rule is please enjoy observing the ranch life but do not harass the animals. We live in the country please do not be too loud or cross outside of our ranch boundaries. My neighbors have lived here or moved here for their own peace and solitude as well... be respectful of that and enjoy your stay in the country. The ranch is located in the Piney Woods of eastern Texas and consists of 95.26 acres mostly in open grazing land with dispersed pine and oak trees in small groupings and along the fence lines. The ranch has a nearly a 1/4-acre upper pond and an elongated narrower lake that is close to 1 and a 1/2-acre below the upper pond to the west. There is a fenced in just over 1/2 acre area just north of the upper pond. The ponds gain water from natural spring flow and rainwater. Cook Creek runs through the entrance area off of FM 2022 on the northwest side of the property. The creek is year-round but normally is only a few inches deep but does have a few deeper pools of water. The ranch has about 65+ acres of gentle rolling hills of open pasture. The pastures consist of bahia, maxio and angusta ryegrasses, with mostly coastal grasses with some red and white clover mixed with natives. The ranch also has a diverse group of wildlife including but not limited to coyotes, white tail deer, roadrunners, racoons, possums, wild pigs and hawks of different species. We have spotted a golden eagle on the ranch within the last few months. We have a couple juvenile bald eagles on the north-northwest side of the property. Our large great blue heron is back from his migration south. Several kingfishers are nesting near the large lake. Several other migratory birds and waterfowl also traverse the ranch during their travels north and south through the area. The night sky is amazing! If nothing else brings you here. You must come enjoy the view of the milky way and thousands of stars visible in our south-east Texas night sky. Photos of the night sky have been added to the listing... do not miss them! I really enjoy just leaning back in a zero-gravity chair and getting to view the sky when not looking through my 8in Meade Coma-Free Smith-Cassegrain telescope. I often have the scope setup and visitors are more than welcome to come view the wonders that our night sky has to offer on most clear nights. Bring a fishing pole to see if you have any luck catching a bream, sunfish, small mouth or largemouth bass. We do have turtles as well. The biggest and meanest is the alligator snapping turtles best to just cut the line than try to take your hook or lure back from these guys.

Downtown Corsicana has thrift stores, antique stores, Brick Street Brewery, Corsicana Opry and more 11 miles away. And Walmart is 13 miles away with also TJmax, Tractor Supply and more. There is no concrete or asphalt!!! You will love the peace and quiet!!!

Here’s a polished, friendly review based on everything you shared. Feel free to adjust tone or length! ⸻ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Campsite Review I had a fantastic stay at this campsite! The entire park is clean, very well lit, and clearly brand new, which makes a huge difference when arriving late or navigating a large rig. The parking pads and individual campsites are enormous, giving you plenty of room to get settled without feeling cramped. There’s also a large turnaround at the end of the drive, which makes orienting your camper super easy, and the main driveway offers plenty of space for backing in comfortably. The hosts were incredibly kind, communicative, and thoughtful. When I was rushing to arrive before sunset, the host even hopped in her vehicle and guided me to my site to help me meet my goal of getting parked and set up before dark—such above-and-beyond service! There were also lots of clear flags and markers on arrival, which made finding the right turn a breeze. One of the highlights of this location is the abundance of trees and natural shade. Shade can be so hard to find in the RV world, but not here—there are trees everywhere! Even the sites that are a bit more open still have several trees, so I imagine every spot gets at least some shade depending on the time of day. If you’re looking for a quiet, spacious, well-maintained campsite with thoughtful hosts, I highly recommend this one. I’d absolutely stay again!

shiloh on the lake was great! good access to the lake, a couple of restaurants in the area (had a hard time finding celiac-friendly spots, but "the dock restaurant and bar" was great). there is no wifi though, and both of our phones had a hard time accessing anything that needed the internet without wifi.

Weekend Trip to Caddo Springs Farm

This is the best campsite I have been to, without a doubt. I have camped at Caddo Spring Farms 7 times and already have my next visit booked. It is not only the spectacular site but also the host. Since this is a working farm there is always some action to watch and animals to listen to. There is even one rooster that is very proud of his flock and often spends much of the day bragging about it. The host is often see darting back and forth while doing farm chores. You can really see the care taken and respect he shows has for his land. The campsite is giant and plenty of room and options for multiple tents - perfect for a family or group outing. Make sure you bring a firepit because there are no ground fires allowed. The campsite faces east (at least I face it that way) which overlooks the pond and adjacent meadow with a giant Oak tree in the middle. The sunrises are amazing; you can see the dew turn to low fog, occasional rabbits running across the meadow and even some bird of prey action. The pond, the site's centerpiece, has bass, panfish and catfish. I have personally caught 2 bass and plenty of crappie. I have spent many a relaxing moment by this pond and look forward to many more. The location of this site is ideal for D\FW residents. It is far enough away to feel 'out of town' but close enough that it doesn't feel like a full road trip. This is also a great campsite for start gazing since it does get very, very dark out there.
