We are also three miles from famous Bankersmith and ten miles from Luckenbach. Fredericksburg town is 20 minutes and there are many wineries in the area. If you are looking for solitude and untouched nature, this is the place for you. The comforts of Bandera are conveniently only a 5 minute drive away. We are located less than 2 miles from Bandera City Park!
At this time, all sites are completely dry. We do have porta-potties available. RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Guests may stay at Memmie’s Farm for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights.
Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

1100 acres of gorgeous natural land at the headwaters of the Medina River. Crystal clear and clean spring feed water. Fourth-generation family owners. Remote camping. About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out.
NO FISHING
As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around.
We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails.
There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful.
We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch.
Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are--

2. Another my brother likes that has a cypress tree submerged you can sit on he calls the 1000 waterfalls

A Texas Hill Country ranch with uncrowded “primitive” campsites about 8 miles from Fredericksburg and about 12 miles from Enchanted Rock. There is no running water, no electricity and no WiFi at the campsite. There is a picnic table, some chairs, a fire ring with some firewood and a portable toilet. This site is suited to tent camping, car camping and small RV "dry camping". There is relative privacy, hopefully starry nights and campfire provisions. Guests share a pasture with livestock and wildlife.
Weather in all its variations is part of camping. If you are not prepared to deal with whatever the weather may be, you should consider another option. We encourage guests to research this destination before booking, carefully review our cancellation policy, and consider buying travel insurance to protect against unexpected travel disruptions. Weather conditions are not an acceptable reason for a refund or change of reservation for this campsite.
Cellular service is limited here. AT&T provides a good signal in this area. HOWEVER **** SPRINT, VERIZON and T-MOBILE may have “VERY POOR” or “NONEXISTENT” cellular signals at this site.
We have neighbors, and although the place is relatively large, and we don't anticipate a problem, there is no guarantee that you will not be bothered by some kind of noise. Likewise, we don’t want our neighbors bothered by any noise coming from you. People live out in the country to enjoy separation of space. Please be considerate of others and keep noise to a minimum. Observe quiet time after 9 pm and before 8 am.
The country roads in this area are paved and they are excellent for walking, bicycling and driving. There are “cattle guards” in the roadways. Cattle guards are steel pipe obstacles along a road intended to prevent livestock, such as sheep and cattle from passing out of a fenced area.

At the designated tent camping sites, you will find oak groves that provide opportunities for shade. The RV sites are in a picturesque field that provides excellent views of the sunset. We also have a primitive camping area down by the river that requires you to park in a parking area and walk to your preferred camping spot.
If you are looking for solitude and untouched nature, this is the place for you. The comforts of Bandera are conveniently only a 5 minute drive away. We are located less than 2 miles from Bandera City Park!
At this time, all sites are completely dry. We do have porta-potties available. RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Guests may stay at Memmie’s Farm for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights.
Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

1100 acres of gorgeous natural land at the headwaters of the Medina River. Crystal clear and clean spring feed water. Fourth-generation family owners. Remote camping. About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out.
NO FISHING
As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around.
We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails.
There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful.
We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch.
Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are--

A Texas Hill Country ranch with uncrowded “primitive” campsites about 8 miles from Fredericksburg and about 12 miles from Enchanted Rock. There is no running water, no electricity and no WiFi at the campsite. There is a picnic table, some chairs, a fire ring with some firewood and a portable toilet. This site is suited to tent camping, car camping and small RV "dry camping". There is relative privacy, hopefully starry nights and campfire provisions. Guests share a pasture with livestock and wildlife.
Weather in all its variations is part of camping. If you are not prepared to deal with whatever the weather may be, you should consider another option. We encourage guests to research this destination before booking, carefully review our cancellation policy, and consider buying travel insurance to protect against unexpected travel disruptions. We have neighbors, and although the place is relatively large, and we don't anticipate a problem, there is no guarantee that you will not be bothered by some kind of noise. Likewise, we don’t want our neighbors bothered by any noise coming from you. People live out in the country to enjoy separation of space. Please be considerate of others and keep noise to a minimum. Observe quiet time after 9 pm and before 8 am.
The country roads in this area are paved and they are excellent for walking, bicycling and driving. There are “cattle guards” in the roadways. Cattle guards are steel pipe obstacles along a road intended to prevent livestock, such as sheep and cattle from passing out of a fenced area.

Our trip to Laf Ranch was great! We stayed at The Ladder and felt that it was a beautiful campsite, it felt private and really enjoyed having the swimming hole right next to us. Fritz was a great host and very friendly and gave us good information about the ranch. If you enjoy off roading as well this site has some good trails, we drove up the ridge road and really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend this spot!

Serene and rustic perfectly describes Boulderdash. It is quaint and quiet with all the amenities you could want and a short walk down to the Medina River helped cool thing down in the Texas heat. Valerie, the park host, was always around if anything was needed from the general store and we even had a chance to meet owners Carol Anne and Lyn. Fine people all around.

Great spot I would’ve never found without hipcamp. Fritz is awesome and this piece of land is really neat. We camped 2 nights in Big Spring and loved it, there’s tons of variety to explore, the drive in is incredible and it seems like Fritz is working on making lots of improvements to the land for better camping spots. He’s got a great HQ spot with a message board for camp/updates. Oh and lastly we loved that we couldn’t get any cell service but that wifi was available at HQ if we needed it. Definitely camp here! Try to get big pond if you can, but all the camping is great.

We had a 10/10 experience at LAF ranch. I stayed at the Teepee site with my 5 and 3 year old. The ranch is stunningly beautiful, we found several watering holes, and just had an incredible time overall. Fritz' directions were spot on, and the ranch is meticulously kept. Looking forward to going many more times.

Wonderful campground! The most generous hosts, so accommodating and beyond. Birdseed and deer corn are provided in jars, wifi is available if necessary (but it’s so lovely out there you absolutely will not want it). The owners had fresh sourdough and farm eggs at a price affordable for everyone, the river is beautiful and the sounds of nature are really unbeatable. Great birds. Valerie is the best camp host! We had site 1 and it was perfect. It was quiet and the way the site is situated we felt that we had privacy. Owners are on site and very nice. I think site 1 and site 2 are probably the best. It is a small hike to get down to the river, but you get your steps in and some exercise. We will be staying here again. Our dogs over playing in the river
