I actually ended up not staying at Wesley’s place, but he was very accommodating of any needs or wants I might have. I’d likely stay there were I to return to Kerrville.

Mainly untamed but easily accessible. Some road noise in the distance but not intrusive. No one else was camping while I was there so very private. Public park adjacent to the property so there was some foot and pet traffic on the other side of the fence. I enjoyed my stay and may bring my grandson back to visit.

The communal area was set up nicely with seating and lighting and a stocked fire ring, and a great spot on the river. Right off a main road, but feels much further away. My dogs had a great time running around, and the host stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. Even heard some nocturnal animals on the river

We had an excellent time! Property was well kept with space to go for walks. Our dog had a wonderful time swimming in the river and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset and sunrise. We would stay here again!

We rented the community area and it was a Wonderful secluded area right off the river with lots of shade. 😎
Awesome that you can just rent the boat from same owner so it's there and ready when you get there. 😉

My friends and I reserved two spots at Wesley's camp site for a 25ft long (11 ft tall) RV and a smaller RV trailer. Both of the sites were perfect for the two RVs. Wesley was an attentive host. He trimmed trees to ensure the bigger RV got through with no problem. He explained everything well, provided some unexpected extras like firewood, fire rings, Tiki torches, kayaks and paddle boats for the river. The location is beautiful with many trees and for our spring trip, abundant wildflowers!

Our group occupied 2 sites for the April 8 total eclipse. Wesley was very helpful and friendly. Although the sites are primitive they had lovely views of wildflowers in bloom, and were flat and comfortable. Thanks Wesley for the kayaks and other considerations. The lake is beautiful and strolling around the dog park next door was fun.

Absolutely LOVED this camping site ("Community Area"). The area had a picnic table, a fire pit, access to the water. The area was shaded by trees. Wesley was super welcoming and a great host. He let us use the pedal boat to explore the lake (there are safety vests on site), brought various kinds of balls for the kids to play with, even trucked down a playground dome so my girls be entertained, etc. Just an absolute delight. LOVED it. I will certainly come back and camp at this site again. Highly recommended.

Wesley was a great and helpful host.
The site was beautiful, and at least in April, was full of wildflowers.
Property is right next to a huge park that is used by dogs and their owners and runs along the river. This property has river access as well.
Probably not suitable for giant vehicles, but our 25' van had no issues at all.

Amazing laid back host, beautiful river front property right next to town. Was able to get our 21’ trailer down no problem. This was a hidden gem, will gladly go back!

Roosters Ridge was right on the water, great views of the river. Deer are present on this property as well.
The road down to the campsites are a little steep, I’d recommend 4x4 for this Hipcamp to be on the safe side.
The sites are also right next to a community dog park, so do expect patrons to be there early hours and late hours.
All and all the site was a good overnight spot on our road trip with our dogs.

It was an ok site….we were able to access the park next to us and walk along the river. The site was quiet and private. But we felt it was a bit pricey for having no amenities.

Really great place to stay. Wesley is an awesome host and goes the extra mile to make sure all is good for your stay.
Draw backs to consider. airplane/helicopter noise due to local airport nearby and close proximity to the highway.
Overall experience was very good and family had a great time. Lots of stars out that night and was able to see 17 shooting stars.

Wesley’s land was beautiful, right on the water, with several camp sites, picnic tables, and a common area. He provided a pedal boat (is that what’s it’s called?) and a kayak. Giant fire pit. Lanterns and solar string lights. Shaded and sunny options. He was very responsive and accommodating, but when we were ready to relax it was very private.
The only downside for me (most of my companions didn’t care) was traffic noise coming across the water and maybe even bouncing off the cliff on the other side of the river. But the camp sites up the hill away from the water didn’t seem to get as much noise.

This campsite was great - exactly what I was looking for. Great primitive camping site and the host, Wes, was very helpful and friendly. Nice flat pads and fairly well groomed grounds. I will definitely consider coming back.

This place was awesome!! We aren't campers, but Wes and his family helped us get started, and now we love camping! The spot was beautiful, and ten minutes from the shops, without feeling like you were in town. Ten stars!!!
