HPW Ranch is a privately owned 6,000-acre ranch in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, offering a true backcountry escape for campers, hikers, and outdoor adventurers. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat or a rugged outdoor experience, our ranch has something for everyone! When staying with us, guests have access to our three privately owned lakes, perfect for fishing, paddleboarding, or kayaking (bring your own equipment) and miles of trails perfect for hiking and trail riding. Our ranch is ideal for guests seeking a more authentic, rugged outdoor experience. While our trails are maintained regularly, they are not paved,or highly developed like the trails you may find at a state or national park. Weather conditions, especially rain, can quickly change trail conditions, so guests should expect a true Texas backcountry experience with natural terrain, scenic overlooks, and a sense of adventure. If you’re looking for paved trails and developed campgrounds, our ranch may not be the right fit. But if you’re looking to disconnect, explore thousands of acres of private land, and experience the wild beauty of the Texas Hill Country, our ranch is the place to be. Please note that due to our seasonal hunting operations, the ranch is closed during certain times of the year to preserve wildlife patterns and support responsible land management. If the ranch is showing available on Hipcamp, all hiking and riding trails are open for guest use during your stay. If dates appear unavailable, it means either our campsites are fully booked or the property is closed for the season. Our calendar is always kept up to date, and guests are encouraged to check availability in advance when planning their visit.
