We had such a wonderful stay at Frio on the River! We ended up having the whole place to ourselves, which made it peaceful and relaxing. The property is well cared for, easy to access, and close to everything we needed. Garner State Park was just a short drive away, and there were gas stations and small shops nearby.
Kelly was absolutely incredible! She was proactive with communication and sent helpful pictures since we were arriving late after dark. She stopped by in the morning to make sure we had everything we needed, and she was such a lovely person to talk to. She made us feel welcome right away. On our way out, we discovered we had a flat tire and she even offered to help and gave us great advice about where to go. Her kindness really stood out and made the stay even better!
Even with a burn ban in effect, we were still able to cook using the small barbecue grill on site. The amenities were great — clean restroom facilities, hot showers, and thoughtful touches around the property. We loved spending time on the porch swing under the big tree, playing horseshoes and tetherball, and visiting the chickens. If you’re more of a cabin person, there are plenty on the property for big groups!
There is some traffic noise from the nearby road, so sound-sensitive guests may want to know that, but it didn’t bother us at all.
We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in the area. Such a warm, welcoming, peaceful place!

Although my kids and I were only there for one evening and one day, we had an excellent experience. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, even though our schedule for arrival changed quite a bit, and we arrived late. The cabin was clean and well stacked with the usual supplies. We would definitely returned.

Quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by the splendor of Texas Hill Country. My kids particularly loved the volleyball and tetherball. We also loved the mini-pool provided right in front of our cabin. Very clean facilities, and the owners couldn't be nicer. Highly recommend!

We love everything about this campground. Hosts were amazing and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect; very good people. Grounds and cabins are well kept. We even opted to stay a day in our little pool right out our cabin door instead of the Frio, it’s that peaceful! Definitely recommend to anyone!

I camped here during off season with my hiking group. We all had such a great time! The property was beautiful and we felt safe leaving our camping gear while we headed to GSP. Kelly and her husband are very hospitable and made sure we enjoyed our stay. The campground was clean and had many fun amenities for us to play around with. I would definitely stay here again!

The greatest thing about this wonderful campsite are the owners. They are sweet and accommodating. The site is well maintained and the shower house is remarkably clean.
But Kelly and her husband were the icing on the cake. They had great advice about local attractions and I enjoyed getting to meet them.

We loved our time at the cabin. The space has everything you could need and was a quiet, cool place to be when not enjoying the Frio. The bathroom facilities are nice, and there’s so many little outside fun spots under the big oak trees. Also, Kelly and Jeff are so friendly! We will absolutely be back.
