Weekend Trip to The Golden Dome At Golden Pine

This was our first time using HipCamp, and what an incredible experience! Zvi and Thunder (the resident longhorn on site) were extremely responsive hosts and made sure we had everything that we needed for the duration of our stay. The geodesic dome was beautifully decorated with a sophisticated touch, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable. The location was private and peaceful—a perfect getaway from the city. We loved how secluded it felt despite being a short 20 minute drive from Bastrop. One of our favorite parts was waking up to a beautiful sunrise, with the option to open the curtains and let the morning light pour in. At night, the views of the sky were absolutely stunning—perfect for stargazing and soaking in the beauty of the quiet countryside. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to unwind and recharge.

Weekend Trip to Easy Breeze

Was going to stay one night, ended up staying two. Easy Breeze is an oasis in Wimberly. Wes is an awesome person, super responsive and makes this a safe place for solo female travelers! I soaked in the cool tub all day, and hung my hammock under the shade trees. I even slept with the van doors open under the full moon and woke to soft bird songs. My dog was really happy to roam off leash and nap in the grass. Will stay here again.

Beautiful land! We enjoyed our stay at this camp site. Billy accommodated us on short notice and showed us to our site. We loved the view and hearing the cattle and fish jumping in the river. We will back again on our next Texas Adventure

What went well? EVERYTHING was better than described or expected. My wife and I were met by Bo (sorry if not the spelling). Smiling from ear to ear and just an overall wonderful person. He helped us take our things to our cabin and described different things that we could do. Everything from a scavenger hunt to harmonica lessons. Beautiful property nestled away from traffic or prying eyes. The cabins are spaced well far apart so you do not feel like others are in your business. I could not believe how well stocked the cabin was. Plenty of blankets, heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioning, cookware, microwave - this was literally the easiest camping experience I've ever had and I'm 55 lol. They also have a fire pit area for each individual cabin to make the experience even nicer. We spent 2 evenings and just had a blast. There are plenty of places to get wonderful food, beverages or any other thing you and your family might need. This is a must stop for camping on a wonderful level. Each cabin also had its own 5 star outhouse and 5 star is the truth! Absolutely cleaner than public restrooms with every necessity. I highly recommend this camping spot!

Where do I start..We have found our forever camping spot ❤️ When we arrived we were all just in awe of the view..What an amazing spot ( site 4 ) The grass was so green and soft the view of the river amazing.... The site is so private, and huge...We sit up our tents under some trees the shade was perfect . So much space to set up everything. The sounds of nature were on point. The birds singing was very relaxing. The entrance into the river was very easy like walking into the beach. Billy is so very kind . And kept us good with firewood. Also provided us with lifejackets which was so very much appreciated...Our children spent hours swimming and riding up and down the river on the boat and Kayaks that Billy provided...The two fire pits were a huge plus .made cooking so easy....We spund four days and 3 nights there and we were not in a hurry to leave....There is water from a well on the property that made it very easy and convenient for our needs....This is definitely a place that you will not regret camping at....it's our new favorite spot....💞💞💞💞 Thanks Billy for offering such a beautiful place to make memories at ...keep up the good work...we will be back...😊

This property was so beautiful! Highly recommend the Ashe juniper location for the farthest back and most secluded location! The woods/trees you walk through to get there is so amazing. David was such a gem giving a quick tour of the property and amenities. I’ve stayed at a few different Hipcamp locations around San Antonio, and this is by far our favorite! Will be back again!

Weekend Trip to Twisted Oaks...

No frills car camping, highly recommended! John’s land is beautiful and has many sites to choose from with flat places for tents, fire ring, tables and chairs. John is friendly and so are his dogs. He’s done a lot of DIY projects like an outdoor shower, bucket flush toilet, disc golf holes (bring your own discs) and has a few campers, a dump truck and other equipment on site that might not feel like pure nature but it didn’t bother me. If you want a true “pristine natural area” look elsewhere but for weekend car campers it’s a great place. Firewood available on site. 15 mins from downtown.

We had a great experience at Dot’s Spots! Host was so accommodating for our late night arrival and adjusted our booking to a site that wasn’t as impacted by mud after some rainy weather came through. The location was also terrific as it was close to Pedernales Falls State Park and Wimberly, both which we easily explored in a day. It was the perfect first camping trip with our 18 month old! 10/10 would recommend!

We had a great time camping on Billy’s land. The river was beautiful and the campsite was spacious and appointed with a fire pit and chairs. Firewood was provided for a low price. The goats and sheep were friendly and cute.

The little peninsula right off the river was beautiful and lush accompanied by canoes that are available to rent and firewood available for purchase as well. This is a Tip top establishment that I will definitely be visiting again and again for times to come. From wild beavers two cows in the river this place has it all!

River Grove Campground

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. Walk downtown and have pizza at Community Pizza or get some food for the grill at HEB. First Saturday of the month Market Days goes on in the daytime. Five minutes from Historic Downtown Wimberley, Texas; Blue Hole; Jacob's Well; Cypress Creek. Walking distance to Market Days or just take a soak in the tub. Secluded, but convenient with wifi. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and traveler whenever possible. My idea is to cater to riders of all kinds, If you have a need and I can help, I will. 19 miles away situated along a one-mile stretch of the spring-fed Blanco River, the small but mighty Blanco State Park is very family-friendly, offering the spectacular Falls Dam, nature trails, fishing, tubing, kayaking, and deep water for a good, refreshing swim. The stocked river is teeming with largemouth and Guadalupe bass, catfish, sunfish, and rainbow trout, and can be an excellent place for beginning anglers (you can even borrow equipment for free). Pedernales Falls State Park is only 35 miles away. Swimming at holes, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and birding are a few of the quintessential outdoor Texan activities visitors enjoy most at Pedernales State Park, located near the area of Texas Hill Country where former President Lyndon B. Johnson grew up. Next to the famed Pedernales River, the park is an hour west of Austin, an hour east of Fredericksburg, and about 20 minutes from downtown Johnson City. Wineries and distilleries are a short drive away in nearby Dripping Springs and Stonewall. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

Welcome to the Cibolo Gardens Nature Preserve! Just 22 miles from downtown San Antonio, not far off of US 281, our educational homestead is an excellent place to camp. We’ve transformed 45 acres of what was once an active rock quarry just 15 years ago, into a healthy, regenerative, green space as well as an event and training venue. Our venue is nestled in the middle of the rapidly growing suburban landscape around us in north San Antonio. We purchased the property five years ago from good friends who had already started the mission of revitalizing the land. Today, 39 of the acres are in “preservation” status, which means that we are letting the natural micro-ecosystems that have developed from what remained of the quarrying activities 15 years ago to develop on their own. We hope to always keep this acreage in that status for generations to enjoy. The remaining 6 acres is wooded, where we live, have gardens, farm animals and where we interface equitably with our environment. Feel free to simply relax in the shade of the persimmon and juniper trees. Or, to add some activity to your stay, hike the varying terrain on our 45 acres, hunt for fossils in the dry creek bed, break out your tree / plant id books, or watch the wildlife (even if it’s just the chickens). Refresh by taking a dip in the above ground pool, or wash off in the outdoor cob shower. [Please be advised that besides campers, we also host homesteading, wilderness survival and herbal medicine classes on our site. Aredondo Acres

Aredondo Acres has wonderful views of the river because on other side of the river lies is a wooded area between Little and Big Webberville Parks and a nice green hill. Bring your canoe or kayak and relax while paddling in the river. We are four miles off of Hwy 71 in the little community of Garfield, TX between the Austin airport and the town of Bastrop. We live on onsite on the first acre, next to the road. The third acre is where you will be camping. Enjoy running water in the center area. For more personal needs, an RV with a flushing toilet is located closer to the river. Other extras include some picnic tables and chairs, fire pit, BBQ grill, trash can, cooling tub, big shady trees, and lots flat areas so you can drive to your campsite. Pets are welcome, just be sure to leash them when sharing the site with other campers. David's parents bought the property in the 1970's and it was undeveloped until they deeded it to him in the 1996. It used to be a gravel pit and there are still pockets of gravel on the property. We have been doing a lot of landscaping and enjoy walking to river to fish or just to enjoy a peaceful view of nature. We have recently added a floating dock, so the fishing should be even better. We look forward to sharing it with you. Learn more about this land: Relax in the shade and enjoy beautiful views of the Colorado River, just minutes from Austin and Bastrop. Bring your fishing poles and licenses and try your luck or just relax and watch the kayaks and boats float down the river. Water is available in the center of the area for all campers with a sink and an antique tub. Ground at the campsites is fairly level and there is an area wide enough to turn an RV. There are steps to the edge of the river. Restroom is in an RV so you have running water available, but you will need to climb a few steps. You may get WiFi but it is not a given. Only two sites are rented for an acre of river-front land. Our home is on the first acre of three acres. If you need any "extras" just let us know and we will be glad to help. We are diligent about removing harmful weeds from the area but if you see any plant with three leaves, please let it be. For the 4th or July and New Year's Eve, fireworks are legal in this area so you are welcome to bring your own, or enjoy the neighbor's displays. We are close to Circuit of Americas and McKinney Rough Park with the zip line. We are a short drive to the Capital of Texas Zoo and the Dinosaur Park as well as LCRA South and North Parks in Bastrop, and the Bastrop State Park. Enjoy a day seeing the sites and then come home to your campsite and enjoy the stars.
