We have numerous old growth hardwood trees including Live Oaks, Spanish oaks, Elm, Escarpment Cherry, Black walnut, and Ashe Juniper (cedar) one of which has the largest circumference in Texas. We have a wide selection of native and migratory wildlife that calls this place home including white tail deer, wild turkeys, foxes, bobcats, jack rabbits, road runners, seasonal songbirds and butterflies. We are just minutes away from Blanco State Park and a short drive to Pedernales Falls or Guadalupe River State Park.

1100 acres of gorgeous natural land at the headwaters of the Medina River. Crystal clear and clean spring feed water. Fourth-generation family owners. Remote camping. About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out.
NO FISHING
As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around.
We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails.
There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful.
We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch.
Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are--

At the designated tent camping sites, you will find oak groves that provide opportunities for shade. The RV sites are in a picturesque field that provides excellent views of the sunset. The field leads down to incredible cypress trees lining the Medina River. We also have a primitive camping area down by the river that requires you to park in a parking area and walk to your preferred camping spot.
If you are looking for solitude and untouched nature, this is the place for you. The comforts of Bandera are conveniently only a 5 minute drive away. We are located less than 2 miles from Bandera City Park!
At this time, all sites are completely dry. We do have porta-potties available. RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Guests may stay at Memmie’s Farm for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights.
Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

Welcome to our property located in Hye, at the beginning of the Texas Wine Trail. French Connection Wines is right next door and the renowned William Chris Vineyards is just 1 mile away. Not to be missed is the Garrison Brother's Bourbon Distillery, less than a mile down the street – you could even walk to all three!
Our property features a shared, covered outdoor patio with a games court for corn hole, checkers, and bocce (checkers, boards and balls provided), gas fire pit, and a gas grill for those cooler nights. The patio is lighted with cafe lights.
One of the RV slips is covered, while the other is nestled under a charming burr oak tree. On-site, we also offer a rental cabin. The covered RV slip is equipped with 30 and 50 amps, the other hookup is 50 amp, both have their own water and clean out connections.
Both RV slips are on grass/dirt, and the entrance/exit is grass and dirt.
*****IF IT RAINS heavily while you are here, please use the paved driveway to exit the property as you may get stuck in the grass at the big double gate.*****
Our property uses rain water recapture. Please conserve water when you can when cooking, washing up and cleaning. No washing of cars or RVs is allowed.
Please note that there might be other guests staying on the property during your visit. Kindly be considerate of noise levels and how it may impact the experience of fellow guests. You may also be sharing amenities such as the grill, deck, outdoor kitchen, and games court.
We welcome dogs, but it is your responsibility to manage their interactions with other guests' pets. Due to potential gaps or larger openings in the fencing, we recommend keeping your dog on a leash.
The owners live on the far side of the property. The rest of the property is left natural for wildlife, so expect uneven terrain, tall grasses, and yes sometimes scorpions, spiders and snakes along with deer, armadillo, wild turkeys, and lots of songbirds.

About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out.
NO FISHING
As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around.
We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails.
There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful.
We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch.
Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are--

At the designated tent camping sites, you will find oak groves that provide opportunities for shade. The RV sites are in a picturesque field that provides excellent views of the sunset. The field leads down to incredible cypress trees lining the Medina River. We also have a primitive camping area down by the river that requires you to park in a parking area and walk to your preferred camping spot.
If you are looking for solitude and untouched nature, this is the place for you. The comforts of Bandera are conveniently only a 5 minute drive away. We are located less than 2 miles from Bandera City Park!
At this time, all sites are completely dry. We do have porta-potties available. RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Guests may stay at Memmie’s Farm for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights.
Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

Welcome to our property located in Hye, at the beginning of the Texas Wine Trail. French Connection Wines is right next door and the renowned William Chris Vineyards is just 1 mile away. Not to be missed is the Garrison Brother's Bourbon Distillery, less than a mile down the street – you could even walk to all three!
Our property features a shared, covered outdoor patio with a games court for corn hole, checkers, and bocce (checkers, boards and balls provided), gas fire pit, and a gas grill for those cooler nights. The patio is lighted with cafe lights.
One of the RV slips is covered, while the other is nestled under a charming burr oak tree. On-site, we also offer a rental cabin. The covered RV slip is equipped with 30 and 50 amps, the other hookup is 50 amp, both have their own water and clean out connections.
Both RV slips are on grass/dirt, and the entrance/exit is grass and dirt.

Our property uses rain water recapture. Please conserve water when you can when cooking, washing up and cleaning. No washing of cars or RVs is allowed.
Please note that there might be other guests staying on the property during your visit. Kindly be considerate of noise levels and how it may impact the experience of fellow guests. You may also be sharing amenities such as the grill, deck, outdoor kitchen, and games court.
We welcome dogs, but it is your responsibility to manage their interactions with other guests' pets. Due to potential gaps or larger openings in the fencing, we recommend keeping your dog on a leash.
The owners live on the far side of the property. The rest of the property is left natural for wildlife, so expect uneven terrain, tall grasses, and yes sometimes scorpions, spiders and snakes along with deer, armadillo, wild turkeys, and lots of songbirds.

Located just outside of Wimberley, our beautiful hill country campsites provide a peaceful retreat from the city. We currently have two campsites privately set aside from our 25 acre homestead that each include their own personality. The stars out here are INCREDIBLE. Our campsites are currently primitive only (no running water, but we do have compost bucket toilets). There's also plenty of level ground and beauty for a restful stay. Whether you're on a weekend family adventure or an artist looking for remote inspiration, our Wimberley Valley Campsites are located 10 minutes from Wimberley and 20 minutes from both Blanco and Dripping Springs. There's plenty of parks, rivers, and hills surrounding this piece of Texas Hill Country paradise!

Great remote Texas ranch camp, away from everything but also conveniently close to Llano for any necessities. The camp and restroom was clean and fun to explore. The four steers roaming the property were a lot of fun to see up close. We would stay here again for sure.

This is my second stay here. The first time was only one evening and just not long enough. This time I brought my pup and stayed 2 nights!!! It was beautiful! Despite a major drop in temperature due to a texas cold front, like 90 to 30 degrees i mean.... we managed to stay comfortable in all conditions! Ellie was so helpful with all my questions. Pup loved it. The 10 minute walk to the river was worth every step! Deer everywhere. Clean and cute. Will book agian..

and very nimble roaming through camp didn’t even snag any tent lines! Bathroom was great and property was easy to access. Huge campsites RV part looked nice as well. Easy access to all the state parks and attractions.

Site 6 was absolutely amazing. The views are stunning, and although it’s near the front gate, it’s quite separate from other campers, so there is plenty of privacy, yet it’s also close enough to the bathroom and kitchen. We loved that we could buy fresh eggs from the fridge, as well. The host was also friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and will likely be back!

The Charmadillo is one of the most well maintained and well loved properties I’ve had the privilege to camp at! Sarah goes above and beyond as a host and has created such a unique and welcoming environment. A beautiful, secluded site perfect for catching the stars on a clear night in the big Texas sky, relaxing, and connecting with fellow travelers in the multitude of common spaces. Would 10/10 recommend for anyone traveling solo, with pets, or with family.

Weekend Trip to The Charmadillo: Glamping Resort
This was my third time staying at the Charmadillo and first time staying in the Yurt. The entire property is beautiful and I cannot say enough good things about it.
The yurt itself is tucked away in the camping area of the property. It was spacious, clean, and relaxing. I would definitely stay in the yurt again and will be back to the Charmadillo hopefully soon.

I took my small 1400 lb camper and it worked out great! The spot is near a clearing with great views which felt private but close enough to the Den and other amenities (short walk to the shower/rest room). They provide a 30/50 amp hookup but no water hookup.
The property was perfect. Quiet, relaxing, amazing amenities (sauna, cold tubs, hiking trails with views, hammocks in a grove!). Great for female solo travelers. Very responsive host, great value. Truly resort-like for a fraction of the cost. This property will certainly gain popularity over time so enjoy it while you can! Thanks Sarah!

It was just what we were looking for.. Outdoors, spacious, plenty of room to play, explore, and swim with our kids. We sent up a treasure hunt around the property at night for the kids and gave them clues on how to find the treasures. Gave them some walkie talkies and head lamps, and they had an absolute blast.

Needed a last minute stop on a road trip and got a spot here. We arrived near sundown and had to leave at sunrise so we didn’t get to explore the river. The site was perfect for our rooftop tent setup mounted over a truck bed. There was some road noise from a nearby highway but it slowed way down by bedtime and was not a problem.
The best part was Ellie’s proactive communication. She texted us right after our booking, sent clear directions, and checked on us after arrival.
We had zero problems.
