Welcome to our little piece of paradise! 55 acres of woods hidden near town. A network of trails criss-cross the creek and wind throughout the property
under a peaceful canopy of large beautiful trees. Don't be surprised if you run into deer, squirrels, or roadrunners! Our property is home to a wide variety of hill-country wildlife.
- Each of our campsites are private and surrounded by forest.
- Each site has a fire ring for campfires
- Our trees are our most precious natural resource and set this campground apart! Please don't do anything to harm them.
- Port-o-john is available on site.
- All of our campsites are primitive. No electric or water here.
- When you camp with us you are welcome to explore and play on the entire property! We have 55 acres of trails and woods to explore! Please bring your bikes, trail shoes, or whatever helps you have fun in the wild!
- Hammocks welcome!
We have so many trees! All of our sites are hammock-friendly.
- When you check-in, just text us, your host will help you find your campsite.
- Some sites are drive-in where your vehicle can park right next to the fire. Others are walk-in and require a short hike of 100' or less from your parking space. You can indicate your preference during booking or at check-in.
If you want to drive right into your site,
Campsites 2, 3, 6, and 12 are the sites you want.
Some of our campsites are more secluded than others and offer extreme privacy in the most beautiful settings we have to offer. If you're looking for a wilder campsite surrounded by huge old trees and all the peace the woods have to offer, just request Campsites 4, 5, 7, or 8. Each of these sites requires a walk of at least 50' from your vehicle to the fire ring.
Site 13 is only for backpackers or people willing to hike about 500 yards to the campsite over rough terrain. There is no way to drive to it or even get close except on foot. But it is spectacular and beautiful!
Only three sites can accommodate a smaller trailer or camper. Site 1, Site 2, and site 6. Please notify me in your booking if you intend to bring a camper and I can accommodate you.
We practice leave-no-trace as much as possible. So please pack out anything you pack in. You are responsible for removing all trash. If any garbage is left behind in your site you will be billed for the cleanup. We have a dumpster located near the front gate. Please use it and put all your trash in there.
Heads-up! We have a small farm on the property.
Dogs are always welcome and we LOVE our furry friends! For their safety and the safety of our livestock please keep them leashed while on property.

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers.
The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so.
Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds.
Campfires are permitted.
There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one.
Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently

Come stay on our 100 acre Richard Creek Valley getaway, gently tucked away on the north slope. There are four campsites on the property and they are all at least 150 yards away from each other. Each site is private. When the ground is dry there is access for all vehicles. When the ground is muddy, Brookside, RiverRock, and Richardson Creek campsites require a 4-wheel drive and have alternate routes to get to them. Ancient Oaks is an all-weather site. You can enjoy hiking and swimming in Richardson Creek when water levels permit. Canoeing from Bakers Crossing put-in which is only 3 miles away.
Some places to check out while you are here include Dinosaur Valley State Park, Dinosaur World, Granbury Historic Square, Stephenville Rodeo, Bakers Crossing River Put-In, Oakdale Plunge Pool, and BigRocks Park in Glen Rose.

What a perfect spot! April met me when I pulled up and I immediately liked her. The spot for my RV was level and easy to access. The fenced in dog park was the best part, she had dog toys and treats and it was a relief after such a long drive to be able to let my dogs run around.
I looked at all available spots in Amarillo to stay the night, and I’m so glad I chose this one. I’m a solo woman and I felt very safe here. April is a wonderful person and made me feel so welcome and special. You can tell she really enjoys hosting, and the positive energy that comes from that is refreshing!

The camp spot was magnificent! It had 360° views, lots of solitude and it was quiet and peaceful! We wanted to come and stay a second night but it was storming really bad so we opted for a hotel. This is my new favorite HipCamp in Amarillo, great location and. wonderful space. April has a great spot for slinging a hammock and getting a good night’s sleep., just what I needed. The extra bonus was April sharing info about mountain bike trails in the area. I’m already looking forward to coming back

This place was awesome, even with the highway being not too far. You hear some vehicles every now and then but late at night they stop coming through. It’s in a spot with a great view of the mountains and stars! The lack of amenities and manmade structures makes you feel like you’re in the middle of no where which is definitely preferred if you’re camping. Absolutely awesome spot, gave us exactly what we were looking for, a raw camping experience.

Lana was quick to respond, very kind and generous with letting us check out late and encouraging us to check out their beautiful regenerative farm with our two dogs. It was peaceful, quiet and truly a feel for what a working farm looks like. True Texas hospitality at its finest. I would recommend this to anyone for either a quick overnight or extended stay to take advantage of all their amenities. We will definitely be coming back especially when the grass finished beef is in stock 😉

We enjoyed our stay at Happy Horse Hotel. Before arrival Hollis was super responsive and Beau evwm met us as the gate upon arrival. He showed us to our camp site (#7) and where the amenities are. Our site was right next to rhe red barn, sink and outdoor showers and the outhouse was only a few steps away. We had a gravel pad that fit 2 SUVs and there was a nice patch of green next to it that fit our 2 inflatable tents. Since it was mid-May, we ran electrical to our tent to power 2 separate AC units, one for each tent. At first the breaker blew but Beau was nice enough to let us borrow his 30 amp adapter to better accommodate our AC units. Our first night Hollis was nice enough to visir our camp site and sing her dog song to our pups with her ukulele. That was truly special. We sgayed Saturday through Memorial Day weekend and was able to visit nearby McKinney Falls State Park, hike their trails and take a dip in the cool water. When we got back we were able to take a nice warm shower in their open air shower stall and stayed cool in our tents the entire night. All in all we enjoyed our stay at Happy Horse Hotel and would definitely come back!

Ocotillo Grande was a great spot to camp with fantastic views! Super close to several national parks which was very convenient. The campsites were easy to get to and the view of the stars is great!

This was our second stay at Lana’s ranch and again we loved it. So peaceful and private! We just stayed one night passing through Texas. Great place to overnight or spend an extra day to relax. Lana is always very responsive with questions.

Lana was super helpful in finding our campsite, and the spot was private and absolutely beautiful! The mesa gets quite windy at night, so if you are tent camping I would recommend one of the other sites.
