Low Meadow Farms (formerly Brown Bike Farms) is a serene four-acre meadow bordered by Burnett Creek. The campground is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in. It is a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. It is best suited for car camping, RVs, tent, and hammock camping.
There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site with enough room for tents and RVs. Most sites have trees suitable for hammock camping all along the creek.
There is potable water, firewood for sale, solar showers, and a bike wash stand all next to the covered communal area.
Each standard site can accommodate 2 people to keep space between groups and lessen the impact on the land. Sites 10 and 13 can each accommodate 6 guests. If you have more in your group, we recommend reserving an adjoining campsite.
Sites 1, 2 and 3 are off the main path to the left of the property, and still by the creek. Sites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all along the creek and gravel drive Site 10 is very private with creek access on three sides. Site 11 is private with creek access all along the front. Site 12 is up high on a hill, and Site 13 is open in the middle of the meadow.

We are located in northeast Tennessee, near the Cumberland Gap where TN, KY, and VA meet. Our campsites sit on the Powell River, offering a peaceful retreat alongside one of the longest free flowing rivers in the eastern US! The Powell River is recognized as one of the most biologically diverse aquatic systems anywhere in the world.
We're conveniently located 2 miles off of highway 25E, making it a simple 13 minute drive to the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park Visitor Center and a 12 minute drive to the historic town of Cumberland Gap. Stay with us and choose between spending your day on the water or hiking the mountains!
We offer 2 individual campsites with access to a shared riverfront and outhouse.
Private Booking: If you are interested in reserving the entire property for a private experience or group-camp, please contact us for availability.
Water: There is no potable water on-site. We recommend bringing your own or we will be glad to leave you water if you select this as an add-on!
Pets: Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome. Please clean up after them.
Alcohol: Adults of legal drinking age may consume alcohol responsibly. No glass bottles are permitted.
Firewood: Available as add on/extra when booking.
Parking: The gravel driveway leads into to a grass field which is our designated parking area for all guests. You must have 4wd to drive to your site. The sites are visible from the field and only about a 100 yard walk from the field.
Gate: Our entrance has a well-loved farm gate, and we are working on building a new one. Please close the gate behind you upon entering to help maintain privacy during your stay.
Footwear: While the riverfront is glass-free, we recommend wearing river shoes or sandals for safety.
Lifejackets are not required, please swim and float at your own risk.
Fishing is permitted; however, proper licensure is required. For the safety of all guests, fishing is not allowed in the beachfront area where guests swim and walk. Please walk upstream or downstream before casting.

Low Meadow Farms (formerly Brown Bike Farms) is a serene four-acre meadow bordered by Burnett Creek. The campground is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in. It is a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. It is best suited for car camping, RVs, tent, and hammock camping.
There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site with enough room for tents and RVs. Most sites have trees suitable for hammock camping all along the creek.
There is potable water, firewood for sale, solar showers, and a bike wash stand all next to the covered communal area.
Each standard site can accommodate 2 people to keep space between groups and lessen the impact on the land. Sites 10 and 13 can each accommodate 6 guests. If you have more in your group, we recommend reserving an adjoining campsite.
Sites 1, 2 and 3 are off the main path to the left of the property, and still by the creek. Sites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all along the creek and gravel drive Site 10 is very private with creek access on three sides. Site 11 is private with creek access all along the front. Site 12 is up high on a hill, and Site 13 is open in the middle of the meadow.

Not only as a campground, incredibly peaceful and clean, we were able to enjoy a hot shower. We’ve decided to stay another night due to some technical difficulties, and the managers of the property have been absolutely fantastic and more than helpful. I’m grateful we get to enjoy a fantastic view of the lake for an extra night!

The tents are terrific, weathered and entire night’s worth of thunderstorms and almost an inch of rain beautifully. Cots were comfortable. Facilities are clean and the stable itself is gorgeous. My dogs enjoyed the stay too!

This was a perfect getaway for my husband and me. The property is beautiful and very private. Well other than some animal friends that live next door, which we just loved- horses and a mule. There is water at the site and an outhouse with everything you need. He even has firewood available. Maynard was great with communication and super friendly. We definitely want to try to come back again.

We stayed at low Meadow Farms for two nights with our RV sprinter. The area itself is lovely, very well groomed, and with everything you might need which included water and a porta potty. We commented several times that we would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Kat.

Site 10 is an absolute GEM. It is private, large, level, shady all day, and has a lovely creek running down two sides of it. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer campsite. Plenty of good firewood available, spigot, and portapoty. 5 minutes from groceries etc.

The stay was lovely! Views were exceptional and Steven was very kind and helpful. Our unmodified Rav4 with AWD handled the trail quite well, but expect it to be very rocky and steep. A good option for tent or hammock camping. The site was well secluded while still being just 20 minutes away from everything.
I highly recommend taking out rain insurance for this site. The trail becomes unpassible by car with rain. But it's well worth the trouble.

Great spot! Totally secluded. Loved seeing roosters and cows. Kim includes drinkable water, and fresh eggs are available for purchase. The site has a bathroom with a little sink, multiple tables, chairs and fire pit. A hiking trail right off of camp as well. Definitely recommend!

Site# 1 is where it’s at if your party is between one and four people. The space is secluded and shaded all day. Best of all (at least while I camped there) there are these small orange flowering plants all around the site that hummingbirds will visit in the morning and evening. If I’m camping in the area again, I will be sure to camp here again.

What an amazing place! I took pitch 10, which was huge (I was on my own)! I hung the hammock in a great spot right next to the creek, with the sound of running water. It really is a beautiful spot. Kat was very helpful and communicative. I got an Uber into Knoxville no problem for dinner and drinks. Highly recommend!
