Hanscombe Point Plantation is a 300 acre working farm that has been in the Legare family for 9 generations. We raise beef cows, heritage breeds of pigs, laying hens, and water buffalo. Additionally, we raise vegetables and do a lot of agri-tourism including: summer camps, school field trips, and a large pumpkin patch maze each year.Our accommodations include a vintage camper, primitive campsites along a salt water creek, and an RV area on our farm.We are located just 30 minutes from nearby beaches and downtown Charleston. It's NOT a place for loud parties--we are on Lake Murray behind the only super LOW bridge, which means there's virtually no boat traffic or noise back here. If you want to refresh, recharge or spend quality time with family or friends, we'd love to host you. *the low bridge also means if you bring a large boat you may need to use the marina or any of the free boat launches within a mile of our site... kayaks, canoes, john boats all fit under. :-)

By Tracy McCoy I wonder if when standing on the sprawling in upstate South Carolina, just a short hour trip from Greenville, Ed and Kitty Land heard a small still voice say, “if you build it, they will come.” While there isn't a baseball field on the property, that's about all that is lacking. Chattooga Belle Farm began as an event building set on 138 acres with a small seasonal retail store. Soon people found their way to the soon-to-be full-fledged farm and they felt it; that feeling that you've found a very special place. Peaceful, majestic and unlike any other, Chattooga Belle Farm is quite possibly the perfect place for any event and most certainly an ideal place to pledge your heart and life to another. Since the Lands opened their doors in 2010 they have come. There have been families, couples, groups, the media and fruit pickers who have all visited the farm; and they return year after year. Having been written up countless times across the southeast, US and more recently featured on The Today Show, the farm just keeps growing and getting better. With a history of growing sweet juicy apples, the soil in this part of the world has proven to be excellent for peaches, muscadines, scuppernongs, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. The farm also grows exotic fruits like persimmons, paw paws, Asian pears, figs, and more! Today, the farm offers tours for visitors which offer incredible views and a visit to their horseshoe lake. Camp on the river, in the field or overlook the river from the high bluff in the old growth forest. The gravel road going down to the river is finished, I drive my Honda Civic down daily and no issues (very low clearance). Kayaking from Holiday Dam to the camp site is incredible. The trip takes about 3.5 hours with lots of shoals and rapids. You can also kayak or tube from the camp site to Erwin Mill bridge in a little over an hour. This is more of a river float with just a couple rapids, but equally as beautiful.

Just a small piece of God's creation right on the Saluda River. Come and enjoy the solitude and serenity of this spot on the Saluda River, surrounded by thousands of acres of forests and farms. Camp on the river, in the field or overlook the river from the high bluff in the old growth forest. The gravel road going down to the river is finished, I drive my Honda Civic down daily and no issues (very low clearance). Kayaking from Holiday Dam to the camp site is incredible. The trip takes about 3.5 hours with lots of shoals and rapids. You can also kayak or tube from the camp site to Erwin Mill bridge in a little over an hour. This is more of a river float with just a couple rapids, but equally as beautiful.
