Camping in the Heart of the Winery

The site we were in (site 8) had a nice view of the vineyard out one site and a field of what looked like soybeans out the other. There were several sites parallel to ours with similar views (including of each other). There are other sites scattered around the property that have less pleasant views. The hookups worked well, although the box with the circuit breaker was locked, so we had to plug in to a live outlet. We always use a good quality surge protector, so connected that first. The owners are slowly making improvements, such as adding more artificial turf over the ground, so you are not camping on dirt. The ground is lumpy, even with the artificial turf, so I would not recommend this for tent camping. For a one-night stop convenient to I-95 while enroute on a trip, this was a fine place to camp. We even had time to experience the wine tasting. We were served small portions of about 10 or 12 different wines. They make a red and a white, then the other wines are made by adding fruit purees. I was surprised by how nice the wines were.

I had a quick stop over in Cartersville. They were really kind and helpful. The vineyard and their facilities were really nice! I got to camp right there at the vineyard with such a beautiful view!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this unique camp. There was a lot to see and explore - antique cars, a cute litter of kittens, a goat enclosure, and a friendly welcome. I would agree with another reviewer that the camp seems a little more “tired” than the pictures suggest. We chose this camp as a stop on our way to the beach because it had electric and water hookups so we could run our camper van’s AC in during an extreme heat wave. These worked great! The camp has convenient bathrooms available as well. My #1 suggestion for the host is to inspect the bathrooms more often. I appreciate having them but if they are going to be advertised as an amenity, they should be cleaner.

Easy to get in and out. Nice flat full hookup sites and the WiFi was great. We wish had had arrived early enough to try some wine. Our granddaughter loved the cats!

It was a great location for an overnight stay during our travels. We enjoyed the atmosphere and would likely stay again. Unfortunately, there is a workshop near the campsite area and someone started working around 4am. We woke up to someone non-stop hammering for about 30 minutes. I would hope this is not the norm and that they were not aware how loud it was.

When it rains the entire site gets muddy. Next to a workshop where you either hear music all day or power tools. Utilities we fine until there was a there was a power outage in the area for about a hour or so. There are cats that roam free through the RV sites, although they are friendly, my dogs were distracted by them. Owner is a nice guy though. They had a small cage with about 5 kittens around 6 weeks old out with no water and bug with flies around them. They were places outside in the sun and it rained abit while they were out there. I asked the owner if I could adopt them, he said yes and I took them to a no-kill shelter. The employees care more about the vineyard and winery than attending to upkeep of the RV sites. Area is not suitable for RVs in my opinion. Place is ok to spend the night as a stop over. But it's nothing special.

Dirt/Dirt//Dust. Good for a quick stay and only if you have a self contained Rv, it’s a working farm so don’t expect things to be clean. Rv Site was on dirt path with some old green fake grass looking carpet. Bathroom were dirty and one stall was broken. Cats running around all over the place and they come to your site looking for food constantly. A lot of clutter and machinery on the side of the buildings. However, I did feel safe, the price was right and the scenery of the vineyards were nice. Would not stay there if it rained.. We booked a 3-night stay. What we found upon arrival was very little that resembled the photos on the Hipcamp page or the winery's own website. Our reservation was for "Site 8" but when we were greeted upon arrival were were told to take "D". Apparently their sites have been reconfigured/labeled. While the host describes the camping as "in the heart of the winery", the RV/trailer sites are right next to the equipment maintenance shed where a variety of derelict machinery is randomly being worked on by staff (lots of loud noises and blaring music). The property is clearly past it's prime (2023 Hipcamp Top Host???). The event venue appears to be abandoned. The "tasting room" is overwhelmed by collections of flea market and yard sale finds. Throughout the property are abandoned and neglected tools and equipment. The vineyard itself looks well maintained. I suspect that the vines are the only thing the owner cares about as that is his only significant revenue source. We left early (after 2 nights, though we paid for 3). Sitting by our trailer on Saturday evening we watched one of the winery field hands doing his laundry on the side porch of the building facing the campground and right next to the walkway to the tasting room. Why would they put the washer and dryer in that location? There are plenty of unused/abandoned buildings on the property, hide your worker's laundry somewhere else. This host has other priorities. His campers be damned.

A peaceful work in progress

This Hip Camp was a convenient, affordable and quiet place to stop on our way along I-95N. Our greeter was very friendly and helpful. So were the adorable kitties who call this winery-in-the-making their home. We drove through lots of dormant grapes on our way in. This camp seems to be under development since it is surrounded by the equipment, sheds, shipping containers and machinery of a working farm. This detracted from the bucolic feel of the surrounding area. We did a tiny, complimentary wine tasting of the muscadine grapes they grow there: it is very sweet and there are many fruity flavors to choose from. Our campsite was on the rougher side since there was no grass, only fake grass. Our site didn’t have a picnic table or patio set although it looked like most of the pull through sites do have that amenity. There are some young trees scattered around the sites which will one day no doubt be beautiful and will provide shade. All in all, an ok, safe feeling and quiet place to spend a night.

The camp ground was very quaint and peaceful from the city! It was clean and had bathrooms to use, no showers but all other hookups. Easy pull throughs and able to park conveniently. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Amazing hospitality

Dylan was so kind and absolutely amazing with communication. He showed us around a bit and told us all about their wines and their process of making their wines. The winery is beautiful and they are very pet friendly. We did a wine tasting and ended up buying one of their bottles! Such a cute spot to camp or spend the night. We will definitely be back!

Pull thru full hookup site was nice and quiet. With having a pusher with a rear radiator, i did get some dust blow up on the rear of my motorhome and front of my tow vehicle wear as with a side radiator or motor in the front this would not have happened.

Lovely spot to tent camp

Pretty cool location. The tasting room was open when I arrived though I decided not to indulge as I was road weary. I had a nice secluded spot next to the duck pond and fairly close to restrooms. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. Only negative is that there are no showers but I was told they are working on that. Besides the ducks, there were goats, and I spied the cutest tiny kitten. These folks were lovely. I would consider camping there again. Great for family camping in an RV especially.

Oh my goodness it was so amazing. Beautiful area. My dogs were able to roam around without a leash, which they discovered all kinds of things. The bunnies are so cute. Fed the ducks and geese bread. Super nice people. Recommend this place.

Funky fun winery

This funky winery is fun to explore--apparently one of the owners is fond of yard sales and/or flea markets. Tasting is $15 if you want to try all 12 (?) flavors. This is sweet wine made from muscadine grapes. Spaces are easy to access and it's quiet at night. I noticed on the last day on a walk-around that there are two more sites in the back.

We are sad that we only stayed for a quick overnight and couldn’t do a wine tasting. It was very cool to see the surrounding vineyard, and I know they partner with Harvest Hosts as well. As mentioned in a few other reviews, the sites are in more of a work space/junk yard behind the vineyard, so the site itself is not scenic if that is your preference. Hookups worked well for us and it was nice and quiet.

We loved it here! We were greeted the minute we pulled in and showed to our site. They were so kind and welcoming to us! The site itself was a spacious pull through. The ground was level and clean. It was beautiful here, I would definitely stay here again.
