The Goodson Forest Estate - 450d
If you have an rv and are just looking for a place to park that has hook ups and is close to Congaree National Park, this is the place for you. I would not recommend if you have to use the outdoor facilities, but otherwise. David was very helpful and communicative.

A perfect spot near Congaree!
David was an amazing and super communicative host. He checked in before our arrival and greeted us in person to help us get settled. We are traveling with an off-road trailer and roof-top tent and have our own toilet/portable shower/hot water/jerry cans, etc so we did not need the RV hook ups and were therefore able to camp closer to the tree line and feel a bit more secluded. We were there only a short time as we were in the vicinity just to check out Congaree National Park. It was perfect for that. From David we also go a bit of the area's and his family's history (integrally linked) and also a sense of his great vision for his property. A wonderful stay all around.

Kind host!
Couldn’t ask for a nicer host. David met us at the site and made sure we knew what was available and to ask questions if we needed anything. I would note this site is probably best for RVs and it seems like that is what the campsite is being converted into. Tent camping was a little difficult since the campsite is located at a well travelled intersection and there was broken glass everywhere.

Simple campsite spot owned/managed by a friendly host. The road is in view but the road and area was pretty quiet at night. There is an option for water and electric hookup plus sewer, and our 30 foot class A motorhome fit fine. A picnic table and fire pit area is also nearby. We weren't sure exactly where to park when we arrived, but he answered the phone quickly and let us know what spot to pull into. The site is about 20-25 minutes from downtown and 20 minutes from the national park.

Close to Congaree
The Goodson Forest Estate is good if you are looking for a level site with electric and waste hookups that is close to Congaree National Park. It has less of a forest-feel than I was expecting, as the sites are located off of a residential road and a little exposed to the surrounding houses and traffic passing by. The host was very responsive and our site had a trash can, table and chair, and a camping rug. There were 3 other RVs and some work trucks parked on the Estate but we didn't see anyone besides the host during our stay. The page mentions a structure and toilet -- there is no toilet available and the structure is more of a storage shed that is under renovation.

Thanks for a great stay
David’s son, Alex is property manager. He was very friendly and prompt in responding to our call when we arrived. We appreciated how close it was to Congaree National Park - only a 20 minute drive. This was the closet spot we could find to stay by far. Would definitely recommend for any RV camper coming through the are for the National Park visit. The property is flat and spacious. We were offered electric hook up and water fill if needed. Even though it was right off of the main road, the surrounding area is pretty rural and quiet. There were a couple of other trailers parked while we were there, and we blended right in.
