Too Many Oaks is a perfect mix of nice and quiet but still close to town. Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. Check with the park for details.

I wonder if when standing on the sprawling in upstate South Carolina, just a short hour trip from Greenville, Ed and Kitty Land heard a small still voice say, “if you build it, they will come.” While there isn't a baseball field on the property, that's about all that is lacking. Chattooga Belle Farm began as an event building set on acres with a small seasonal retail store. Soon people found their way to the soon-to-be full-fledged farm and they felt it; that feeling that you've found a very special place. Peaceful, majestic and unlike any other, Chattooga Belle Farm is quite possibly the perfect place for any event and most certainly an ideal place to pledge your heart and life to another.
Since the Lands opened their doors in 2010 they have come. There have been families, couples, groups, the media and fruit pickers who have all visited the farm; and they return year after year. Having been written up countless times across the southeast, US and more recently featured on The Today Show, the farm just keeps growing and getting better. With a history of growing sweet juicy apples, the soil in this part of the world has proven to be excellent for peaches, muscadines, scuppernongs, and blueberries. The farm also grows exotic fruits like persimmons, paw paws, Asian pears, figs, and more!
The landscape is picturesque and the mountain views are truly breathtaking in every direction. The farm hosts farm to table dinners that sell out year after year. Their U-Pick fruit opportunities evolve throughout the season with something always coming in from early summer through fall. A list of available fruit is updated often on their website, upcoming events and information about cabin rentals on Horseshoe Lake.
The recent addition of a distillery on the farm means the fruit is grown, fermented, distilled and bottled on the farm. The distillery is open year round Monday – Saturday. ged in oak barrels and aged to produce some of the finest liquors made in these mountains.
The farm store is complete with fresh produce (in season), canned jams, jellies and bottled ciders. Grass-fed, natural, antibiotic-free Black Angus beef is sold in the store. The cattle are raised on pasture which produces some of the healthiest beef you can buy. Using only natural, humane and environmentally sustainable practices, the Lands and their staff raise beef as nature intended. Bringing the best to your family has never been easier.
Belle's Bistro at Chattooga Belle Farm serves salads, sandwiches, burgers and soups made with the freshest ingredients possible. The bistro is open for lunch Tuesday – Sunday from April – October. Their menu includes Certified South Carolina Grown food which makes for an outstanding menu, also which can be viewed on chattoogabellefarm.com.
When it comes to weddings, Chattooga Belle Farm has it all! Hi, I'm Curt. My wife Ani, son Fitch, and I are your average, everyday nonconformists who have been running an experiment. We are trying to figure out if a family can use their own hands and some grit to handcraft a life that you don't need a vacation from. Or better yet, that you would vacation to. Have we done that? You be the judge.
Years ago we left our Miami handcrafted furniture business to pursue this new goal. We set out to build an inspiring experience in simple, eco-friendly living that would find a harmony between the helpful aspects of the modern world and the good parts of the old, that maybe society should have held tight to. We wanted to play with this idea...while keeping it classy ;-)
At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cottages, using solar energy, composting organics, sewing and reaping, in a way that is fair to our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature.
Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" slow, simple living can feel. We all have personal priorities, and those will vary greatly. But within that, we can all include ways of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our neighbors.
Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, that they can appreciate our perspectives and some of our old-fashioned ways. Our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm. You can imagine, it has been a ton of work, sacrifice and expense to create a very special camp atmosphere. Any donation to show appreciation for its use, if even for a single night, is a valuable support to our efforts.
*** Special Note: Heirloom has one full-hookup site for medium sized setups, that we use for long term month-to-month stays. Heirloom is our home, so we are judicious in determining that the guests that stay there are a good match for us and them.

The farm was once a portion of the McTureus Plantation. Tony's family members were once enslaved on the plantation. Upon Emancipation a family member bought land and it remained in the family. Tony is a descendant of those family members whose foresight allowed us to be here today. Tony's parents entrusted the care and preservation of the property to us and we are doing our best to be good stewards and teach the value of this property to our children and young grandchildren.

This campsite was awesome. Location is near to hunting island and Beaufort but quiet and tucked away. Nicely shaded and near another site but with enough buffer to feel secluded. We got fish to cook at camp from gay fish company and spent the day at the beach. Coming back to this site felt relaxing and peaceful after the busy beach. Thank you!

Belinda's property was just right for our short trip and felt secluded, while being easily accessible to nearby Hunting Island and downtown Beaufort. The property was spacious, and my friend and I enjoyed our time here! Belinda was kind and thorough in her directions and instructions for the site. As a reminder, this property is on a farm, and you may hear the rooster crowing or the geese honking! We were glad we had the chance to explore this beautiful area of S.C.

Extremely beautiful views and site. I overlooked that there wasn’t potable water so do keep that in mind. I was also very disappointed the water was not swimmable (in my opinion) it’s down hill from the cow pasture and is quite full of algae. There is a mini dock pictured that led me to believe the water was more inviting than it was. But the site itself is nice if the water aspect is less compelling to you.

This was our third time at Camp Site 2 with our kids. It was great, as always! The bathroom was well stocked with toilet paper and the shower was so nice to use for everyone during our 2-night stay. We feel great peace of mind knowing how responsive Craig always is while staying there. This was our first time seeing a water snake of some sort when the kids were playing in the river, which we have been surprised it’s taken us this long to see one, so always be mindful with kids playing in the water that things can pop up in nature :) we will definitely be back!

This place was a step into Narnia if you love minimal living mindset and small footprint genius! The hosts are absolutely welcoming and informative and personable. We will certainly be back!!! The outdoor shower I want to go home and build myself. Incredible stay, fireflies show off at night to bring some extra magic to the experience with the giant oak as the backdrop. We LOVED making a fire in the giant pinecone, highly recommend.

This was an amazing spot to camp at. Michael was so quick to respond, and he takes great care of the space. Our site (2) had lots of space, there was tons of firewood, and the farmhouse has access to a bathroom, shower, fridge, freezer, stove, and tons of cookware. We are so thankful to Michael for making this such a great, easy trip for us. Highly recommend!

Camping in a Peaceful spot, under the stars, critters to feed, walk along side and pet, awesome shower and bathroom facilities, knowledgeable hosts and personnel, playground for the littles, walking trails, easy in and out, new fire rings, cute camp store. We had a great weekend get away. Obvious to us - many stay longer to enjoy the amenities of this location. The farm animals are a delight. We had our 3 GRANDchildren with us - all under 3 years of age. The goats, bunnies, chickens, fresh eggs, donkey, cows, pigs and water fowl were a delight to feed and touch some. The staff were great about sharing their knowledge. We have all agreed to return.
