Neal Homestead Camp

There are 5 sites to stop with an RV or tent plus a stone cabin with loft.  The soil is very rocky not easy to farm so Grandpa said they " lived on elderberries and groundhog". 17 miles away is Punxsytawney home of the famous groundhog. There is 50 acres with a pink marked trail to Red Bank Creek and back up through a hemlock forest. A small stream runs through the property and forms a rocky delta in Red Bank Creek. I love the rocks on the property huge and small. Hike, enjoy the sound of the stream tickling through property, stargaze, or rest and relax in a hammock. There is one along the little stream and one at Outdoor Adventure Camp Site.  No hunting on property but fishing allowed.  Please keep fires in firepit and noise levels low.  

A wood stove and table provide a great space for card games!

Runnin Crazy Farm

Growing up & building on the back of our Family Farm is the best goal I ever set for myself!  My Off-Grid 20 acres has raised my 2 kids and all the animals we could rescue!  We run a Horse Boarding Facility along with Freezer Meat of all sorts.  It's a small Hobby Farm but we love it all the same!  Family environment that's down to earth!

Sites 1 and 2 are for campers/tents. Sites 3 and 4 are tent only spots.  Fire ring at each. Top tent spots up in field (3 and 4) need a higher vehicle to get to them. A bit Off Road. Horse stalls/guided trails available for the campers bringing their own horses.  Our animals are friendly and love attention.  Dogs welcome but need a leash. Our family run farm is willing to accommodate your needs. Book a stay with us as you pass on thru.  (Totally Off Grid livin my dream. Remember to burn burnables and take non burnables with you. Generators welcome) Thanx!

Sunnyday's Forest

Sunnyday's farm and forest was  a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and  woods.Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away.  Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter. The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away. It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs.  We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables.. There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents.  There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin, but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures. The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk!   If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover. 

The cabin is very primitive with a dirt floor.

The cabin is inside a horse fence so if you bring a horse, they can be left to wander the camping area.

Inside is brick floor and very primitive.

 It's pretty dark here.  There are no large cities anywhere around here.  

Also, the cicadas are in full throat for the balance of the month.

My family moved here in 1957 and I purchased it from my father in 1975. 

My wife is responsible for much of the landscaping and home improvements that have been done since 1990. 

We are retired self-employed .

The camping area is sort of L shaped.  This is the west side and is about 90' by 60'.  It is more shaded.

Reserve Your Space – Camping Season Opens May 1st. Primitive camping sites are available May 1st - October 31st for those wanting to escape the daily grind to get a bit of country peace and quiet. 

Tent Sites: $35.00 per night. Base price for each site allows for two (2) guests. 

Additional Guests: $5.00 per person 

Fire Wood: $8.00 per bundle 

Reservations are required and are available through HipCamp.com. There are no refunds.

Base price for each site allows for two (2) guests. Additional charges apply for more persons. Limit of one (1) tent per site and maximum of four (4) persons or one (1) family per site. Stays are limited to no more than ten (10) days per season. No smoking, no alcohol and no recreational drugs allowed. Pets will require prior permission from Pioneer Trails Tree Farm.

Each site includes a fire pit, log seats and table, garbage bag on arrival. The bathroom and access to power including a charging station for phones etc. are located inside the Red Barn. Other barns and equipment are restricted from use. No water non potable or potable water is provided.  We have bottles of water for $1.00 each. 

Fire wood is available for purchase using our Paypal QR code posted throughout the camping area. You may also prepay for wood when you make your reservation. WE DO NOT ALLOW FIREWOOD TO BE BROUGHT ONTO THE FARM. Each shelter site has it's own fire ring.

Quiet time is weekend 10pm to 9am, weekdays 10pm to 7am.

Camp Setup You can drive out using gravel roads to drop of your camping supplies. Cars must be parked in the parking areas shown on Map. Please only drive on the gravel roads. Campers may be asked to move there cars if they are blocking day to day farm work.

We ask that campers dispose of trash in dumpster marked on map.
