We started with a blank slate, a new system designed with the permaculture principles in mind and the intention of ultimately creating a living space with the creature comforts we have all grown accustomed to. Eventually we will be building the next round of accommodations (principal: Small & Slow Solutions). When staying in one of our cabins, you are participating in this process by sharing with us your experience (principal: Observe & Interact), letting us know what you have discovered you can and can not live without, and possible solutions to efficiently address those needs and wants (principal: Apply Self Regulation & Accept Feedback).

We are Marty and Deborah. Welcome to our 40 hidden acres of paradise where we are surrounded by wildlife and raise much of our food including beef, pork, chickens and a productive garden. We have multiple campsites here from wooded to open field or by the pond so come and pick one that suits you best.
We are adjacent to the Kennerdell Tract Of Clear Creek State Forest which has miles of hiking and biking trails as well as the Allegheny River which provides fishing, boating, kayak/ canoeing opportunities. There is also The Allegheny River Trail which provides miles of paved bike trails.
What we offer: We are not a campground and do not offer multi-night stays
We are vandwellers when we are traveling. As such we understand the problems associated with finding a spot to overnight.
We offer just that, a safe, quiet stop over for the night. That being said, if you need an extra day feel free to ask, we often say yes.

With over 230 acres, a lake, trails, the Grand River, plenty of wildlife, and FREE firewood. Bass and Buck Adventures is the perfect place to get away. Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman. He had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill, flaxseed mill, and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1920,s. My grandpa purchased the property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting. Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. The firewood is excess cutoffs purchased from a local sawmill.

Nearly 2,500 acres of marshes and woodlands create a beautiful ambiance for your next getaway in Mother Nature. Stroll along one of two trails in the park, where robins and warblers tucked behind purple cresses and beech-maple trees may just move you to tears, or at least to write a haiku. Floating devices of just about every variety are invited to channel the 7,850 lake, and areas like a dog park means Fido is more than welcome on the scene. Seven Feathers has 6.5 acres with several wildflower and herb gardens, along with a small fruit Orchard! Our property is close to Allegheny River access with a local boat ramp in Reesdale, and a fishing pier at Lock 8. From here, you can take the locks all the way to Pittsburgh.
Several ATV trails have easy access because you can legally ride on the township roads! A lot of wildlife to see, including deer, bear, fox, coyote, several bird species, and bald eagles. We're close to State Gamelands for hunting. You're welcome to eat any fruit that has ripened here during your stay.
The miles of ATV trails are also fun to hike or ride your horse on. Campfires allowed, leashed pets allowed, must be leashed at all times, dogs, cats, and horses. Bring your pets! There is a spring with potable water on the property. Beautiful sunsets here, plus an amazing view across Reesdale Road. You might catch a rainbow too if it rains! Our personal favorite view is the vast nighttime sky. Perfect place for stargazers. Watch the beautiful sunrises and "moon-rises" over the tree tops.
You can run generators anytime, but please be considerate of other campers. Very Private location. There is a bar/restaurant close by in Adrian. It's 10 miles to downtown Kittanning, where festivals and concerts in the park are held, plus more restaurants, stores, and rails to trails for bike riders. There are fishing ponds and large glacial rock formations nearby.
Tours to the places mentioned can be scheduled for a fee if we're available. We will have a small map of the area with places marked. You're welcome to cut and use fallen trees. Please don't bring firewood from other counties due to the spread of diseases and destructive insects. Welcome to Seven Feathers, where you can just relax or partake in the recreational activities. You can get into all sorts of shenanigans in Shenango River Lake Park. River shenanigans are the best here, from fishing on a lazy day to kayaking on a more adventurous one, and just about every water-related thing you can imagine in between. You can also get into lots of shenanigans in the forested hills throughout the park all year-round. In the summer, wrangle yourself a horse and take a gallop along one of the many equestrian trails, or stick to your feet and explore a maze of hiking trails.When the winter winds begin to blow and a blanket of snow covers the ground, it’s time to whip out your snowshoes and cross country skis, or the horse(power) of the snow—the snowmobile. Finally, if you’re interested in history shenanigans, check out the well-preserved remains of the Erie Extension Canal, which played a major role in the economic development of Northwestern Pennsylvania. Whomever named Mosquito Lake Park obviously didn't understand good PR, but don't let the name discourage you. Nearly 2,500 acres of marshes and woodlands create a beautiful ambiance for your next getaway in Mother Nature. Stroll along one of two trails in the park, where robins and warblers tucked behind purple cresses and beech-maple trees may just move you to tears, or at least to write a haiku. Floating devices of just about every variety are invited to channel the 7,850 lake, and areas like a dog park means Fido is more than welcome on the scene. We doubt the mosquitos will be much of a problem, but if worse comes to worse, you can just light some of those good-smelling candles or load up on the catnip (look it up!) to fend off potential itchy bites.

Seven Feathers has 6.5 acres with several wildflower and herb gardens, along with a small fruit Orchard! Our property is close to Allegheny River access with a local boat ramp in Reesdale, and a fishing pier at Lock 8. From here, you can take the locks all the way to Pittsburgh.
Several ATV trails have easy access because you can legally ride on the township roads! A lot of wildlife to see, including deer, bear, fox, coyote, several bird species, and bald eagles. We're close to State Gamelands for hunting. You're welcome to eat any fruit that has ripened here during your stay.
The miles of ATV trails are also fun to hike or ride your horse on. Campfires allowed, leashed pets allowed, must be leashed at all times, dogs, cats, and horses. Bring your pets! There is a spring with potable water on the property. Beautiful sunsets here, plus an amazing view across Reesdale Road. You might catch a rainbow too if it rains! Our personal favorite view is the vast nighttime sky. Perfect place for stargazers. Watch the beautiful sunrises and "moon-rises" over the tree tops.
You can run generators anytime, but please be considerate of other campers. Very Private location. There is a bar/restaurant close by in Adrian. It's 10 miles to downtown Kittanning, where festivals and concerts in the park are held, plus more restaurants, stores, and rails to trails for bike riders. There are fishing ponds and large glacial rock formations nearby.
Tours to the places mentioned can be scheduled for a fee if we're available. We will have a small map of the area with places marked. You're welcome to cut and use fallen trees. Please don't bring firewood from other counties due to the spread of diseases and destructive insects. Welcome to Seven Feathers, where you can just relax or partake in the recreational activities. We camped at the aspen overlook with our kids, dogs and our pop up camper. The property was amazing and very secluded on a high ridge overlooking the woods and pond. There were lots of hiking trails throughout the land as well. The ponds and creeks were very pretty. We brought wood but not enough, we were thankful that some was provided. The grounds are very well kept and the porta potty was very clean.

The campsite was wonderful. Peaceful and relaxing. A bunch of extra convenience not normally expected! Numerous chairs, picnic table, extension cord, a LED pole light that you can choose to be on or off, groomed hiking/ side-by-side trails, porta-potty, firewood box with kindling, lighter fluid, newspaper, and lighters! Even a distant donkey could be heard. Beautiful overlook deck and nice grass (no flowering weeds for bees). Occasional motor noises but did not interfere.

I almost don't want to write a glowing review so I can keep this camping spot all to myself! The spot was very well secluded and quiet. The grass was mowed and VERY little bugs, like none. Plenty of level space for car camping (I sleep in my full-size SUV) and the pine trees in the same camp spot are great for hammocks. The campsite layout is like a horseshoe with plenty of shade along the border but an open spot in the center for star gazing. The fire pit was a great size and plenty of dry firewood was provided. There was even kindling, dry packing paper, lighter fluid and a lighter! Plenty of comfy plastic chairs for around the fire and a fullsize picnic table. The porta-potty was very clean and hand sanitizer bottle was full.
The evening was very quiet and peaceful. Of the 6-7 camp spots I've been to, this is my favorite BY FAR. You won't be disappointed. 11/10 stars

I really enjoyed staying on Don’s land! It was quiet and private. There are many trails on the property which give a great opportunity to explore the woods while staying close by. Lot of bird and wildlife to be heard and seen. I’d definitely recommend staying here!
