Swim, canoe, and enjoy extensive campground amenities near the private town of Treasure Lake.
A semi-private gated community, Treasure Lake is an exclusive getaway for campers. Some areas are off-limits to visitors, but there are still plenty of activities to enjoy, like two PGA-rated golf courses, a swimming pool, access to a white-sand beach, and boat rentals at the marina. The Treasure Lake campground features pull-through campsites with full hookups, as well as tent sites with fire rings and picnic tables, while private cabin rentals are also available with king-size beds, TVs, and wifi. Or find a change of scenery 45 minutes north in Allegheny National Forest, where campers can hike the Hickory Creek Trail or find calm waters for canoeing along Clarion River. Book a cabin with indoor plumbing and electricity, or snag an Allegheny campsite. Amenities vary for each of the 16 campgrounds, but common features include full hookups, dump stations, flush toilets, and showers. For an off-the-grid experience, head to a primitive backpacking campsite in Moshannon State Forest—the best spots to set up camp are along the Quehanna Trail and Allegheny Front Trail.
