Weekend Trip to Peters Sawmill

The Sawmill Woodzie cabin was a nice, private retreat in a fern-covered wood. The cabin has one full bed and a bunk bed with a comfy couch. Our dogs had the best time running around. Most of the time we were on the porch enjoying the fresh air and sunlight. There's no water or electricity but there's a good number of candles and lanterns. There's WiFi just down the road but it didn't extend as far as the cabin. We'll definitely be back as we explore World's End and the Loyalsock forest.

Weekend Trip to Ferncrest Campground

We had a great weekend at Brian and Joanna's Fern Crest Campground. It was a last minute trip for us. We booked a Dome with 2 double beds and a hot tub. (no King hot tubs available) We knew it was going to be a rainy weekend but that was ok because we just wanted to relax. We love the vibe of the campground and what Brian and Joanna have done with it and hope to see it continue to grow. The campground is not too far off the road so you can hear traffic going by but it wasn't to the point of being distracting. The domes were clean and adorable. The only thing that would have been great would be either hangers for the rack or some hooks near the door. We had umbrellas and raincoats and nowhere to really hang them up while they were wet. The retro ice cream and coffee campers were such a great addition and the woman at both, I believe her name is Sue, was so nice and personable. She was helpful with any questions we had and gave suggestions for things to do in the area. Because of the rain, we ended up pushing the beds aside in the dome and put our camping chairs up in front of the window and used the cooler that came with the dome as a makeshift table for us to play games on and eat from. The beds were comfy and the linens were soft and smelled fresh. The bathrooms and showers were also clean and the soaps, shampoos, and conditioners all smelled great. We will definitely be staying here again and hopefully bringing friends and family with us! Thank you for such a great stay!

Weekend Trip to Muddy Myst

We loved camping at Muddy Myst! The family who owns the property are very kind; the love they have for their beautiful land shines bright! The area was quiet, serene, & extremely well maintained. The bathroom & common area were pristine. There were a few other campers visiting during our stay, but the sites are plenty far apart to provide privacy. We stayed in the tree house cabin; it was a pretty chilly weekend but we were very warm & cozy in our little spot. The bed was comfortable & they provided a small heater for us to use. We always bring our pup along when we camp & it can be hit or miss, however we had such a pleasant experience camping with her at Muddy Myst! The property is very dog friendly & she loved having to opportunity to be off leash. We can’t wait to come back!

We loved the tree house! It was so cozy. The hosts were very easy to get a hold of for questions and after coming in from wet tents the night before, had the treehouse warmed up nicely for us. The property is beautiful and quiet. Great diner right down the road. Thank you for such a nice stay.

The cozy tree house cabin is a fantastic stay to get away and let the mind free. From the trees to the frogs everything was perfect. This a hidden gem in Pennsylvania!! If you're in the pittsburgh area I would definitely recommend staying here. I'm looking forward to my(our) next visit in the near future.

This Treehouse Cabin was an absolutely wonderful couple’s getaway. The property is so well-maintained and peaceful. The hosts were so kind and were available for anything we needed. Definitely a place where we will be staying at again.

We [2 people and 2 dogs] enjoyed our little glamping getaway at the West Creek Campground, enough so that we would definitely do it here again! The Dwellings are close to one another, but far enough where you can still enjoy nature and your own personal space. Since nights were still a little chilly at the end of May (the time of writing this review), a small electric heater was provided that was enough to keep the Dwelling comfortable. The bathhouse is clean and modern, and it's exciting to see the development of future glamping options at this campground. Vanessa (camp host) was very friendly, helpful, and attentive to the guests' needs. 5/5

Weekend Trip to West Creek Campground

We had a great experience! The cabin was comfortable and thoughtfully equipped, with plenty of outlets and the flexibility to combine twin beds for couples. The bathhouse was by far the best and most modern we’ve seen at any campsite; immaculately clean with hot showers. The entire property was peaceful and beautifully maintained. Vanessa, our point of contact, was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. While WiFi is available, we weren’t able to connect, but our phone service worked just fine.

It was extremely clean and welcoming. The accommodations were spotless. My only concern was the gaps in the doorway and the floorboards where bugs / mosquitos may be able to get in especially as it get warmer.

Weekend Trip to Ferns in the Forest

The tiny home was perfect size for my husband and I with our pup. We enjoyed the fire pit with included firewood and the gas grill, but arrived after it had been raining quite a bit and the mosquitoes and gnats were terrible. Expected since you are in the woods, but fyi to bring bug spray as there is no screened-in areas to hang out outside. Even though the house was located fairly close to the road, it was still peaceful and mostly quiet with occasional cars. We loved the sleeping loft- so cozy and we slept great listening to the birds and trees;) We enjoyed the peace and quiet so much, we spent a lot of time just relaxing at the house. The owners checked in often if they saw us outside, and were lovely to chat with!

We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! The River's Edge

The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience. River Mountain Outdoors

The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes.
