Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods. Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking, frisbee course and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away. Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter. The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away. It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs. We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables.. There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents. There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin, but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures. The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk! If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover.

Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. Apple Ridge Farm is a 7 acre diversified sustainable farm. We grow/raise vegetables, small fruits, flowers chickens, and pigs. We also operate a wood-fired brick oven bakery on the farm. Guests are welcome to tour the farm, jump in with the farm crew, or just hang out in an Adirondack chair around the fire pit. You were looking for a rustic campsite but stumbled across this farm cottage. Why not upgrade your trip? Our farm cottage features a super comfortable queen size bed, pull out twin sleeper sofa, full kitchen, coffee station, and a staff of 15 locals who are all into hiking, biking, fishing, boating etc who can point you toward the next destination and help you find all of the hidden gems in the area. We're a working farm and bakery so this isn't a quiet, secluded hideout in the woods but it if you're a foodie then you've found paradise. Our little farm store, located just across the street, features organic flour wood-fired brick oven breads baked 4 days a week, our own produce, meat, eggs, and a curated collection of the areas finest local goods. Our location is a prime jumping off point for all sorts of Pocono and Lehigh Valley destinations. We're approximately 2 minutes from the famous Blue Ridge Winery (and there are 3 others within 20 minutes), 6 minutes from the Blue Ridge Flea Market, 12 minutes from the nearest Appalachian trail parking lot, 20 minutes from Blue Mountain Ski area, 20 minutes from downtown Stroudsburg, 25 minutes from the Delaware River, 20-30 minutes from most of the bigger touristy Pocono attractions, 35 minutes from Jim Thorpe (and the many Lehigh River boating, biking, and hiking, adventures that await there), 35 minutes from Easton (and the excellent biking and eating you can do there).

Enjoy 8 beautiful, secluded acres on the Conewago Creek at Bald Hill, Northern York Co. My homestead was once part of the Conewago Turf Farm. It borders the creek a length of 1100 feet, mostly maintained with easy access. Camp is at the base of a steep section of the Conewago Mountains, creating privacy and protection from wind and afternoon sun. This is not a whole house rental. I have a one bedroom, queen size bed, kitchenette, private restroom and outdoor shower with on demand hot water. There's plenty of room for tent or van camping. Please see pictures for detail. I live in the house above the glamping quarters. Plenty of good fishing and paddling here. I offer shuttle service for 1 or 2 day float trips, paddle in one day, paddle out the next day. Canoes, kayaks, paddles and PFD's are included in the price of your stay. The Conewago is very beginner paddling but remote, very clean and full of wildlife. Gifford Pinchot State Park is 7 miles away. I have two paddle boards if you want to paddle the 3 mile lake. This adventure would require a short hike out to a parking area. Relax in a wood fired Norwegian sauna and cook in a Peruvian wood fired earth oven or cook under the stars over an open fire. Firewood is also included. Foodies will rejoice here. I live and work here, part time blacksmith and wood worker. I'll assist you in any way or do my best to stay out of your way. Wildlife love it here, I think you will too.

The White Squirrel Properties include a cabin, rental pavilion and camp site. The camp site sits at the top of a hill and provides a secluded flat site to pitch your tent or park your van/truck camper/truck top tent. You will have this space to yourself. The view is breathtaking - you have a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River, numerous sets of mountain ranges, and you are surrounded by beautiful fields. There is a rustic picnic table and a more modern high top table set with an umbrella, for your use. We have also added 4 hammock chairs that you can relax in while enjoying a glass of wine. There is a wooden platform with a small structure on it. You can stand underneath the platform and it can provide some shelter, if needed. (The structure is being renovated for a new experience next summer.) The pavilion is a short walk and has 2 bathrooms, a shower, and a kitchen. **The kitchen is only available if the pavilion is not being rented**. There is an additional fee to rent the kitchen. If you are interested, please message me after booking. This can be added at checkout. Deer come out nightly on this peaceful property. You won’t be disappointed.

Booked for a Christmas get away with my boyfriend and it beat our expectations. Very cozy and romantic but also good for families. They have thought of everything you need. Bellefonte itself is a beautiful town if you are looking to get out no matter what time of year. The hot tub was a bonus that was very relaxing. Can't wait to return!

Weekend Trip to Hartman Center Campground

What a lovely location and well appointed tiny home! We had all that we needed and the contact person was very reachable for questions. Cabin 24 is set apart from the other ones and feels very peaceful/private. The warm from the house melted a path on the deck and stairway for easy access, despite the snow and ice. While we did not make use of the camp store, it was great to know there was extra firewood available for purchase if needed. I would recommend staying here for quiet, clear, starry skies, and the small hikes throughout the property. There is plenty to see without leaving the grounds, but the location is very convenient for antiquing and general shopping, lots of parks and sights nearby. We enjoyed all the fresh animal tracks in the snow one morning after an evening snowfall. What a cozy winter getaway this was!

Weekend Trip to The Bellefonte Campground

I absolutely loved my stay at Campground #79. It was the perfect escape from the city …peaceful, clean, and cozy in every way. The cabin had everything we needed, from a super relaxing hot tub to excellent heating that kept the space warm and comfortable. The host was amazing; attentive, responsive, and great with communication. They walked us through check-in and check-out, which made everything smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend this cabin for both couples and families looking to disconnect and recharge. The location also has plenty to do, with nearby restaurants and activities, all neatly listed in the guidebook inside the cabin. It truly had everything we needed for a perfect weekend getaway. Would definitely stay again

It was absolutely fabulous, the cabin is so cozy, the composting toilet did not bring any smell, the shower was great, the bed was very comfortable and the view from the bed was the best part of the trip. I cannot wait to rent this again. Virgil and his wife were also very welcoming. I highly recommend renting this property.

I loved the tiny home. My partner and I had a great time. Definitely bring cooking equipment though if you plan to cook. I wasn’t sure whether to bring any, and saw it said it had basic cooking equipment but it wasn’t much to work with. Other than that everything was great. Easy to navigate and arrived without issue. Came late so couldn’t find the cabin, but customer service was great and helped navigate us in the dark. Would definitely recommend and come back to the campground when it’s warmer out!

Weekend Trip to Ferns in the Forest

Virgil & Pam really go above and beyond at The Fern House! The cabin was comfy and stocked with everything one could need for an extended weekend away. Our hosts were generous and gracious. They provide great communication and hospitality. We spent 3 nights and wish it could've been longer! Our pups loved the mile walk around the property each morning plus great hiking spots nearby. We took advantage of the fireplace, local eatery suggestions, and the loft was the perfect hideaway for resting and waking to beautiful wooded views. We cant wait to come back!

Our time in the treehouse was magical. It was my 13 year old son and I. He is 6’1” and he was able to comfortably sleep in the loft. Bill and everyone at Fairview Farms was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The stargazing was phenomenal; I highly recommend a dip in the hot tub under the stars. I would recommend bringing a heated blanket in the colder months. I brought ours and it was the perfect mix of cold and snuggly warm. There is a heater that works like a charm, with the blanket we only used it during the day.
