Our 37-acre property features Cedar Creek, ponds, trails, and meadows. While we have a handful of sites that comfortably accommodate 2-4 guests, many of our most popular sites are ideal for families, friend groups, and gatherings looking for space to spread out.
Cool off in the creek, hike the trails, pick blackberries when they're in season. Whether you're road-tripping through the Pacific Northwest, working remotely from your van, or simply seeking a quiet weekend outdoors, there's a place for you here.

We have 50+ Llamas, including adorable babies on our 50 acre Ranch, camp in the pasture, which is flat or in our woods, for more privacy, your choice. Our property literally borders the scenic highway. Because we are so close, you can hear the sunset-view-seeking drivers, motorcycle riders, and yes, racers who come out this way for a spin on one of the most scenic highways in the world. Traffic quiets down after dark and mornings are quite 'chill'.

Our campite offers two large, level RV sites with electric and water hookups (no sewer—campers must be fully self-contained). Each site has a picnic table and is surrounded by tall, mature trees and bucolic views of neighboring farm fields.
Our farm features blueberries, pear, apple, and plum trees and lots of flowers! Wildlife includes deer, elk, owls, coyotes, raccoons, plenty of squirrels, and, if you’re lucky even bald eagles! Our dog Elsie is a loyal farm pup who helps keep deer and small predators away. Don’t worry she’s extremely friendly with people (especially children) and plays well with other well-behaved dogs.
Springtime is especially gorgeous here, with magnolias, dogwoods, rhododendrons, irises, lilies, peonies, dahlias, hydrangeas, and pollinator gardens all in bloom. In the fall, the foliage is stunning as big-leaf and Japanese maples turn golden, orange and fiery red.

We loved glamping at Paula's farm! She was very friendly and helpful getting us set up with what we needed. The pre-set tent was super cozy and full of extras (bedside table, chairs, lantern, blanket) and the bathroom facility was very clean with nice hot showers! It was perfect for our friend's first time camping! There was some neighbor noise one of the evenings we stayed and some dog barking from the adorable working dog Etta, but we were totally fine sleeping with earplugs. Definitely hoping to come back!

The Back 40 was a great spot. Tall trees, lots of birds, blueberries at our door, and pretty quiet for a residential area. Easy to walk our dog in the neighborhood or in the field behind the house. Lyndsy was a great host, even meeting to show us around when we were 30 minutes past check in. No issues with navigating the driveway with our 21 ft campervan. Would stay again & recommend to others :)

We had a wonderful weekend at Zen Acres! Site 9 was large, semi-private, and the whole property was well-maintained. Our 3 teenagers and 4 year old really enjoyed playing in the beautiful creek and the play structure was a hit with the little one! The hosts were incredibly attentive, and the nearby porta-potty stayed clean and stocked the whole time. Highly recommend!

We loved tent camping on Mike’s land over 4th of July weekend. It felt like we were deep in the forest at a classic campsite, the creek was beautiful, porta potties were clean and well stocked, they checked in on campers a perfect amount, the directions to get to the campsite were very clear, and the other campers weren’t too loud. Will definitely be going back and plan to bring our two cats next time!

Don't let the spot intimidate you. It requires a little attention, but very doable. He is there to help and offer some inside tips for success.
We were greeted with a fresh head of lettuce and as many blueberries off the plant we wanted in the garden.
Close to Troutdale for shopping, Edgefield and the river.
Had some work to do and our AT&T hot spot worked as well, as did our Starlink.

The lot was very quiet and relaxing after our days visiting Portland. Very dog friendly. Dave was easy to communicate with before and during our stay, though the hosts were not present during our trip. No water or bathroom access here, but that’s ok as long as you plan accordingly!

3 nights at Crown Point Hipcamp
Rick's glamping spot was an amazing getaway for our 1-year wedding anniversary. Had everything we needed for a little weekend stay. The hot tub and sauna were amazing additions and we'll definitely suggest this spot to any friends needing a weekend away from Portland. Also, their dog Freyja was a true sweetheart!

Amazing little campsite!! Brad was extremely accommodating and it was a very peaceful spot out of the way of the world, the pond was also very adorable and the outhouse was always stocked and clean!

I loved camping here and meeting the lovely lady llamas! This was my first hipcamp stay and I was very happy spending the night under a big beautiful tree, amongst a herd of funny and delightful llamas :) Sherri was super accommodating and answered all of my questions about the llamas. It was fun to feed the llamas baby carrots and be so up close & personal with them!

Beautiful campsite, close but not too close to other campers, and lovely shared river access! The Porto potty was very well maintained!! We stayed at site 1, which was right at the entrance but we didn’t notice a lot of traffic or noise! They have a road that goes downhill that was recently black topped, which was nice! A bit narrow but much better than a mudslide road, I’m sure!! They also have a playground that’s nearly complete, which will be a wonderful addition! Our kiddos didn’t get to play, but they would have adored it!

Great riverside campsite with sufficient privacy. The climb back up the hill with a wagon full of gear is a killer workout, but the uphill is only a small fraction of the trek :-)

Where to go
Mt. Hood
About a 45-minute drive east of Sandy, this perpetually snow-capped mountain (which lends its name to the Mt. Hood National Forest) offers great recreation opportunities year-round. In the cooler months, campers can ski, snowboard, and snowshoe, while hot summer days make Hood an excellent destination for hiking, mountain biking, and swimming in alpine lakes.
The Columbia River Gorge
Some of the prettiest scenery in the region can be found a short drive north of Sandy in the Columbia River Gorge. This stretch of the Columbia River, which separates Oregon from Washington state to the north, is full of gushing waterfalls, tree-lined trails, and towering viewpoints that offer epic views out over the region. Just note that it's insanely popular, and permits are required to visit certain sections of the area during the summer.
Silver Falls State Park
Just over an hour’s drive south of Sandy, Silver Falls State Park is considered one of the prettiest state parks in Oregon, owing mainly to its numerous waterfalls, 10 of which you can see for yourself by hiking the 7.2-mile-long Trail of Ten Falls (you can even walk behind a few of them). There’s also a campground with RV and tent camping plus a seasonal horse camp for equestrians.
When to go
Sandy is definitely a summer destination, though you will have to contend with crowds if you come between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Fortunately, the warm season in this part of the state continues well into September. If you’re a skier or snowboarder and want to spend time up on Mount Hood, the conditions are generally at their finest between January and March, though it’s often snowy enough for winter sports well into May.
