Then wake up to the smell of our Juniper trees and watch our local group of mule deer grazing through the yard with views of Tumalo Mountain. Just across the street starts the Canal Trail that heads East and West. A 5 min bike ride East along the trail will take you to a Fred Meyer Grocery store, Starbucks, and much much more. Or take the Canal Trail West through the massive 123+ acres of forested public land that connects directly to the Deschutes River Trail (only 4 mins away). Once there, the outdoor activities are endless! Great fishing, bouldering, biking, swimming, rafting, and nature viewing spots are all within a couple minute walk from our home. This gravel pad is on the southern side of my house in an extremely quiet neighborhood. Just 5 minutes to the Old Mill District and Deschutes River, and 25 minutes to Mt. Bachelor ski resort via Sunriver, it’s a convenient and peaceful place to land while exploring Bend. This hidden gem is quiet yet close to everything — with a couple of restaurants just up the street less than 5 minutes away. Tents, truck campers, and RVs up to 40’ are all welcome. Pets are allowed, as long as you pick up after them. The RV pad area and front yard are accessible, and the site is well-shaded by tall pine trees, so it stays comfortable even on hot days. The neighborhood is about as safe as they come — you could literally leave things unlocked and nothing would happen. I’m a Central Oregon native and happy to help with recommendations or local tips to make your stay even better.

One can quickly and easily walk to the river trail from our house. By going up river, one gets the sense of being remote and in the forest along a well maintained trail that makes a 3 miles loop with many rapids visible from the trail. By walking down river, one can quickly access Hayden Homes Amphitheater, Old Mill shopping and Downtown on a paved walking path. 1 night at RV Parking Near Pilot Butte In Bend

Zach was easy to communicate with, understood my needs for immune precautions, and got me quickly set up with everything I needed to know to be comfortable in the space. It was easy to find, convenient for errands in town, but away from the busy-ness. I didn’t end up staying overnight due to a personal issue that changed my plans but would recommend for others. You’ll definitely want an extension cord and water hose on the longer side for this spot, especially if you have a larger rig or opt to back in. Thanks for hosting!

We just stayed one night so didn’t ’use’ the site much. But it was everything we needed to just pull in after dark, pop up our camper, have a nice peaceful sleep. Sat outside in our chairs with our small dog for our morning coffee, then got the road again. Easy to find if you’re coming from Hwy 20. Nice flat and clear parking area. Quiet restful night.

Nice, comfortable site. We had some difficulty backing in, but it wasn’t impossible by any means. The other sites are close by, so not 100% privacy but thankfully our neighbors were respectful. Lots of wildlife. Accommodated our 34ft trailer and our friend’s car tent. The property next door had individuals using a saw, but seemed to only be during daytime hours and we had no trouble sleeping at night.

The Camp is convenient because it is in town (minutes from downtown); consequently, The Camp may be too noisy for some HipCampers (not me). The grounds and amenities are very well maintained. We are driving to Montana and needed an overnight stay in Prineville. We are so glad we found Nathan's place! It is just outside of town on a nice piece of property. We had full hook ups and access to the property. The property is meticulous and had a nice view. We had our privacy, a view, beautiful sunset, 2 bucks in the yard, a bunny and our dogs were welcomed. Nathan was very welcoming and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Prineville!

Jon and Kyla’s little sanctuary just outside of Bend was the perfect place for our overnight. They were clear about the limitations for camping with the need to have self contained facilities and electric (as personally required). We needed a location in the moment and Cray-Cray #1 was the place! Thank you!

Weekend Trip to Casa Del lago 2 Lake Billy Chinook

This was such a beautiful and serene little place! There are multiple little areas for campers but we happened to have the place all to ourselves which is just how I’d prefer it. We had our camper but we could have shown up with nothing but our tents, blankets, clothes and food. There are camping supplies, soft lighting, comfortable outdoor furniture, a clean porta potty, clean outdoor shower (with instant hot water!), an outdoor sink with running water, shade and privacy. Even though the major Flat fire was right next to us and we lost water for a bit, it was one of my most favorite camping trips! We were right near Lake Billy Chinook & Three Rivers and a little store/gas station. Susan is the best host! She is so kind and responsive and it’s apparent she takes great pride in the look and care of this magical little place. We will definitely be back!
