BeaverCreek Artfarm/ Heart Barn

30 sites · RVs, Tents21 acres · Seal Rock, OR
This beautiful piece of paradise has been in my family for over 100 years. I am very blessed to live here and proudly care for it now, and plan to keep it in our family forever. Renting out the land and barn areas for camping, and also for private events, are a couple ways i can share it with, and build even more awesome community. 💚 Please Follow @heartbarn on Instagram to see videos and updated photos of the greenery, camping, events, the barn rooms/spaces and upgrades done here. 😁 Come camp, reset and recharge on the beautiful central Oregon coast. Nestled in the lush Beavercreek valley, we are just outside the fog zone in our own sweet little weather bubble. We have a variety of wetland wildlife here including a visiting elk herd, a large and beautiful variety of birds and various small critters.. Early summer dawn bird song is just amazing! 🎶 It’s lush and green and feels like the earth is hugging you when you’re camping in the carefully carved in marsh-field nooks. There are various camp “sites” to choose from, in the big field or the smaller meadow, with shade and/or sunshine & you choose which spot you’d like to stay in once you arrive. Feel free to check out all of the Barn and other communal spaces like: the beautiful dome for chillin in, stargazing bed in the tall field grass, the “Wookie Nook”- secret relaxing nurselog tree in the far right of the field, lounge chairs under the Cedar in the meadow, forest walk, the Legacy Lounge-art, antique and family memorabilia room-through the mural painted door…make yourself at home 💝 It is generally quiet and peaceful out here and a super sweet rustic getaway. Weekends of course are more lively, but still plenty room to spread out and have your own peaceful space. You can have solitude out at your camp, or come to the communal barn areas for a more social time. Inside the Barn has a more “hostel” feel with couches and lounge areas, dining room area tables and chairs, dance floor with Labyrinth to walk, stage, hula hoops, fun props, art and antiques to enjoy! The Black light art and ping pong room is not to miss!! There’s a Full kitchen (minus an oven) in the corner of the barn with all you need to cook, serve and eat. (Charcoal)Bbq shed outside the barn next to the communal fire pit. Just past those is the cedar shingled shower house with a wood fired sauna too. (I generally have firewood for sale here.) There’s 4 Porta potties on-site, but also, please feel free to pee outside. 😁 On the way to the HeArt Barn, just off of hwy 101 is Ona Beach state park. There you can kayak, canoe, paddleboard -or some even swim- on the east side of the hwy. The beach and beautiful state park is on the west side with Beaver creek flowing through it and a lovely bridge over it. We are just 5 minute drive form there. There are a couple hikes along the way, and also for jogging or biking.. I believe in living as simply and peacefully as possible, in harmony with all neighbors of all species; -plants, animals and humans- in order to do my part to sustain healthy life on this planet. I know that I am blessed for having been raised here and since I’ve come home, I live in gratitude for this blessing every day; and am so thankful to be able to share some of it with you. I hope this lush green valley hugs and fills your heart like it does mine.💚 HeArt Barn- Earth/Art/Heart✨Always return to the heart ♥️ Welcome!

More about Trip Camp: Purchased in 2013, building out our property has been a labor of love, and is always a work in progress. We wanted to live somewhere where things move slower and where we can have a more intimate connection with the land. We raise over 30 chickens, garden, and forage the natural abundance of the area, from berries to mushrooms. In our forest, there are deer, coyote, rabbit, bear, skunk, raccoon, squirrels and chipmunks, various owls, bald eagles, weasels, cougar, bobcat, and any other number of critters. The Trip Camp sites sit on the historical Spruce Logging Railway Camps of the early 20th century. During WW1, some conscientious objectors were sent to work camps such as the one here to log the first and second growth spruce trees for the war effort. When they finished the narrow gauge railway system to transport the logs in 1919, the war effort was over and was taken over by private logging concerns.

Bring a collapsible chair (hanging just inside the side door to the garage) to sit and read a book and feel like you're in the wilderness (you are!). While wandering about the property, be entertained by the unexpected? can you find the gnomes? Now, what's with the name? Captain Cook (1728-1779) never landed in Oregon on his (- voyage in his 78 foot ship, the Resolution, in 1778)- he hardly saw it- and what he described as "snow" was most likely the sand dunes! He was the foremost navigator-explorer of his time. A good summary of his life and voyages is found in Wikipedia. More about his Oregon visit at the Captain Cook Society and at the Oregon Encyclopedia site. But wait, there's more- Joode, one of the owners, is a Brit, born near London, but spent her childhood summers in North Yorkshire- the birthplace of Captain Cook, and a monument to his memory caps Rosemary Topping, visible for miles around. And then- another connection- a best friend's great grandmother was the midwife who assisted in his delivery. It's a small world after all. Homeowner Rich purchased a home on this site in 2002, living here full time until 2006, when he and Joode, having married in 2005, returned to her home in the UK. Rich retired in 2013 following careers in education, forestry and national parks, tours/travel in the USA, and retail garden centers in the USA and UK. Joode is retired from a nursing career with the UK National Health Service in Oxford and the nearby Cotswolds Area of Natural Beauty."We are both enthusiastic gardeners and enjoy the outdoors, birds, beaches, and travel- in fact we met on an adventure tour in South America and were married by the stream at Heceta Beach- just a few minutes' walk from the Captain Cook. ""When at home here in Florence, we listen to the waves and the wind in the trees, and watch the many kinds of birds that visit each day. When we "walk the beach" we may also find sand dollars or other beach treasures, or encounter bald eagles, osprey, seals, or hundreds of sanderlings busily feeding at the surf's edge. It's such a delight to know that the woods and beach stretch for miles beyond." Beach camping near Newport guide

Overview

Just south of Lincoln City, in Oregon's Central Coast region, Newport attracts campers and beachgoers with its aquarium, lighthouses, and miles of Sandy beaches. Beachfront camping is available right in town at South Beach State Park, which offers yurts, tent camping, and RV sites with fire pits and picnic tables, plus restrooms with flush toilets and an RV dump station. More campsites are available a few miles north of town at the massive Beverly Beach State Park, home to yurts and a range of campsites, many with full hookups. Although the two parks have many beach camping sites, with more beachfront camping available in state parks further up and down the Oregon Coast, public sites do fill up well in advance, especially in July and August when the weather is at its warmest and driest.
